Chapter 65 64 - Confession
After hearing Allana's advice Krista steeled her resolve, she was right, if I don't take this shot chances are another girl would snatch him up, she thought.
Once Milo returned, the group continued bantering until it was getting late, and they needed to return to their rooms. As everyone was leaving, Krista grabbed Milo and told him that she needed to talk to him and to meet her on the roof in ten minutes. Milo was confused by this but said he would meet her.
After ten minutes passed, Milo made his way up to the roof, where Krista was waiting. He opened the door to see Krista standing near the balcony looking over the rest of the campus. The stars were painted across the sky and the moon was shining brightly over the heads of the two friends.
Milo walked up next to Krista and asked her why she asked to meet with him. She turned to face him and locked eyes with him.
"There's no easy way to say this so I'm just going to come out and say it," she said, "I've been thinking about it for a while now and I think I like you."
Once she said it, a moment of silence fell between the two. The only sounds that could be heard were the breeze and the bustle of the city in the background.
Milo hearing this only had one thought, huh? He and Krista had known each other for their entire lives, her parents and his parents went to college together and their dads even worked together before the dimensional doors appeared. Ever since they were kids, they got along, but he had never considered her as anything more than a friend. Most likely because they were friends even before he started gaining an interest in girls.
"I know it's weird since we've been friends forever," she continued attempting to break the silence, "but it was something that's been driving me crazy keeping to myself, and I just had to get it off my chest."
Milo wasn't sure what to think, after his random date with Maria today he could only think that a good way to gauge his own feelings would be to go on a date with Krista.
He had never had a girl confess to him before today, and he ended up having two girls confess to him today alone. Not just two girls, but two girls that if you asked a random person, they'd say both were beautiful.
After thinking it over, he consulted with Krista and asked her what she thought about doing a date as a test run. While talking about it more, they decided to go on a trial date to make sure that there were in fact feelings, and if things were too awkward, they would remain friends.
After agreeing to this, the pair returned to their rooms where they told their friends about their experience on the roof. Chris and Mark thought it was a good idea as did Allana. Krista and Milo were both nervous though, as both of them were afraid of messing up and ruining their friendship.
Milo and Krista decided they would go on their little experimental date Friday after class, leaving him two days to worry and freak out over it. Chris decided that he would assist him with trying to not worry and planned out their day after classes to help Milo look and feel as ready as possible for it.
After their classes had ended, Chris took Milo into the city and over to a clothing store. While there, he helped Milo update his wardrobe which was definitely needed, as his current clothes barely fit him due to his physical changes brought on by the system. After getting him new clothes, they made their way over to a barber shop to complete his look by getting him the haircut he desperately needed.
Following the haircut, Milo looked much cleaner and would probably garner much more attention. His new haircut was long on top, but was cut extremely short on the sides, giving him the look of a teenage movie star. The kind that would always play the main character who was much better looking than any everyday teenager would.
Milo was looking and feeling much better about the trial run now, thanks to his conversations with Chris, as well as the updates to his look and wardrobe.
While Milo was busy preparing himself for the date, Krista was doing the same. Throughout the entire school day she couldn't help but lose focus during class and instead would focus on her date with Milo. While eating lunch with Allana, she was obviously spaced out and tapping her foot on the floor at a fast pace.
"Hey Krista, you good?" She asked only to be ignored. After trying to get her attention with words two more times, she finally poked Krista in the arm.
"HUH?! Yeah I'm good," Krista said in shock. After being snapped back to reality, she asked, "Are you sure this is the right thing to do?"
Allana pondered on it for a second while she chewed her food. "All I can say is, you'll definitely know after Friday if it was meant to be or not, and it's better to know than be stuck wondering what could've been," she answered.
Krista took a deep breath as she knew she was right, "but what if it doesn't work out and it sabotages our friendship?"
"Then don't let it," Allana returned, "if it doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be, but you've been friends this long already, so you know that as friends you guys work."
Krista then noticed Milo walk in with Chris and Mark who took a seat with their food. "I guess she's right," she thought. As she stared at Milo smiling and laughing with his roommates.
