Celeste snapped back to reality, not feeling sleepy in the slightest. She sat up quickly, giving Liam the “watch–your–mouth” look, not wanting to pay the penalty for having a relationship.
Liam glanced at her, casually replying. “She was sleeping.”
Celeste was speechless.
Steven’s face turned ashen, his voice raised in surprise, “Sleeping? With you?”
Celeste rolled over, covering Liam’s mouth with a “you–dare–say–another–word” expression
Liam’s gaze swept over her uncovered chest, pinching her flirtatiously. This flirty move scared Celeste to the point that she immediately pulled back her hand, covering her chest, her face in disbelief.
Before their divorce, he had always been proper and restrained. Now, what was this? Was his normal behavioural pattern disrupted?
Liam seemed satisfied with Celeste’s reaction. Pinching her astonished face, he said to the person on the phone, “I had dinner with Leonard last night. She drank too much, so I took her to the hotel.”
Steven frowned, “And then you stayed too?”
Liam smirked, “Should I have left her alone drunk in a hotel? You think that would be safe?”
Steven was taken aback. Indeed, it wouldn’t be safe, but being with him wasn’t necessarily safe either.
“Liam, do I need to remind you? You two are divorced. Can you act with a little more decency? If you felt it wasn’t safe, you could’ve taken her home. Her career is just taking off, and you’re stirring things up. Are you scared that she’ll do too well without you?” Steven said.
Celeste furrowed her brows, thinking that the comment was a bit too harsh. Mr. Garcia had never spoken like this in front of her, so why was he so rude to Liam?
Fearing that Liam would get angry and start arguing with Steven, she quickly explained, “Steve, I asked Mr. Reed to take me to the hotel, Don’t worry, I was wearing a mask. No one recognized me. There won’t be any scandal, please don’t blame him.”
Steven suddenly felt that Liam was deliberately provoking him to say these things. He now seemed like someone who spoke without asking about the situation. Steven was extremely frustrated.
However, Liam was acting as if nothing happened, saying, “Steven is just worried about you. Let him say what he wants. It’s not the first time he’s criticized me because of you. I’m used to it”

Celeste thought, he had already checked her schedule before asking her, so what reason could she have to refuse?
But that was okay. She had already promised them, and she had to meet them sooner or later. So, she said, “Sure, send me the address and I‘ head over once I’m done”
Steven gave the “ok” sign to the person behind him, clearing his throat, “No need, I’ll pick you up.”
After hanging up. Celeste turned to Liam, “Should I bring a gift?”
Liam, hugging her waist, whispered, “You focus on filming, I’ll handle these things.”
As they were talking. Celeste’s phone rang. She looked at the caller ID. Surprisingly, it was Zach.
Recalling last night’s midnight shopping spree for the show’s costumes, she felt a bit awkward. But considering Zach didn’t know why they were buying the clothes, it would be strange to be overly concerned. So, she answered the call, casually saying, “Mr. Miller.”
Zach’ummed” in acknowledgment, “There are two variety shows to be recorded soon. I’ll send you the schedule later.”
Celeste replied, “Alright”
*And Zach paused, “You’ll have to replicate your makeup and costume from the show. Don’t soil the dress.”
Celeste laughed awkwardly. “We bought it for our collection, how could we soll it?”
Zach responded with a slow, “Oh it’s the first time I’ve heard of night–time collecting”
Celeste was speechless Recalling their midnight shopping spree, she knew that someone as smart as Zach would understand why they bought the clothes. Feeling embarrassed, she quickly asked about the recording schedule of the variety show, and then hurriedly hung up.
Then, she gritted her teeth and said to Liam, “Next time you do something this embarrassing, do it yourself. Don’t drag me into it!”
Liam seemed to be in a particularly good mood today and didn’t argue back. Instead, he said, “When you were filming Mastermind of Law, we also bought back the outfit you wore during the murder scene.”
The two of them joked around for a while before finally getting out of bed.
