Adriana was right. No matter the occasion, it’s always better to show up in a ready–to–wear outfit, even if it’s from a regular brand, than to wear a knock–off.

Looking at Celeste, does she look like she could afford such an upscale dress?

People would rather believe that she can’t accept that she had fallen from grace, so she wore fakes to uphold her image.

After all, true works of embroidery art, like “Swan Ascending“, were rare to come by.

“Celeste, wearing a knock-off? Back when she was with the Reed family, didn’t she always wear bespoke dresses to events?”

“You’re right. The imitation might look like the real deal at first glance, but there are subtle differences. The swan’s feathers don’t seem to match the pictures online.”

“She should’ve chosen a less recognizable design for her knock–off. This design has been widely shared online. Choosing it for a fake is just plain dumb”

“She’s not dumb, and she’s smart. If she didn’t wear this knock–off, how would people notice her? Without the shine of being Mrs. Reed that find other ways to draw attention to herself.”

A flash of schadenfreude crossed Angel’s eyes.

Perhaps the old Celeste could afford to wear any designer clothes. But, after her divorce from Liam, with not a penny to her name and just a little–known up–and–coming actress, how could she possibly afford such a dress?

Shed rather believe Celeste was putting on airs.

She gave a slight smile. “Seems like my sister really admires Sandra’s work. She even had someone make an identical piece. I didn’t notice it earlier. My bad”

Celeste glanced at her. “I understand. It’s normal for people who are not worldly to misjudge.”

Angel’s eyelids twitched.

Unexpectedly, Celeste had become stronger after divorcing Liam,

Just as she was about to say something, a voice spoke up. “Sandra’s fabric is custom–made. You can’t buy it on the market. Do you think an imitation could match that?”

Everyone turned to see a middle–aged woman in a plain–colored long dress slowly walking over.

She looked ordinary, but her dress was distinctive.

As everyone wondered who she was, Adriana asked, frowning, “Who are you, and what do you know?”

The woman glanced at Adriana and answered. “I’m in the fashion industry, so I know a thing or two.”

Adriana laughed. “You dare to say you understand just because you know a little?”

The woman ignored her and walked over to Celeste. “Ms. Campbell, I couldn’t make it to the Embroidery Exhibition due to some commitments. I wanted to visit Sandra to see this masterpiece but was told it had been gifted. I didn’t expect to see it here today. May I take a closer look and a few photos?”

Celeste smiled. “Of course.”

The woman thanked her, took a camera from her assistant, and examined the dress while taking photos.

Suddenly, someone in the crowd exclaimed excitedly. “Isn’t that Carla?”

“Carla? Who’s that?”

“She’s Lana’s teacher. Lana was her apprentice. But then some unexplained disagreement occurred between them, and Lana went independent “Carla? The one who won the World Fashion Design Award?*

“Though you might be able to buy Lana’s designs, Carla’s works are so sought–after that they’re impossible to get. Every year at the fashion show, her works are showcased. She’s a top–notch designer in our country!”

“If Carla says so, then it must be genuine Sandra is her teacher. She wouldn’t mistake her teacher’s work.”

“Didn’t you hear what Carla just said? She said the dress was a gift from Sandra Is Celeste the one who received it?”

“This is something money can’t buy.”

“I knew Celeste wouldn’t wear a knock–off on such an occasion. She wouldn’t make herself a laughing stock.”

“No wonder Celeste said that Angel didn’t know fashion. Even with the real deal in front of her, she couldn’t recognize it.”

After finishing her photography, Carla thanked Celeste again.
