Chapter 128

Celeste was shocked, thinking to herself that this was just a pair of socks. Was there any need for him to be so angry?

She explained, “I didn’t do it on purpose. The two bags looked almost identical, I didn’t notice when I put them in.”

Liam, with a serious look on his face, said coldly, “Call him and ask him to bring it over.”

Celeste frowned, “I’ve already given it to him. How could I ask for it back?”

“You know that once something is given away, you can’t ask for it back. Then how could you give away something that was meant for me?” Liam asked.

Celeste felt that Liam was deliberately causing trouble! He had been keeping an eye on her since their time at the old mansion. What did the socks matter? He was just looking for an excuse to pick a fight with her!

Because Mr. Robinson was still in the car, she had to suppress her anger and said patiently, “I really didn’t mean to. It’s just a pair of socks, if you want, I can buy another pair for you.”

Liam was even more angry at her perfunctory response, “Is this about buying a new pair? The key is you never take me into consideration!”

Celeste was getting angry too. Regardless of the fact that Mr. Robinson was still in the car, she rebuked, “That’s right, I didn’t care about you! When I gave it to you, why didn’t you put it away yourself? I give you a gift, and you don’t say a word. Who knows if you want it or not? Now that I’ve given it away, you blame and get angry with me. I think you don’t care about the socks at all, you’re just looking for an excuse to quarrel with me!”

Liam was so angry that his hands were shaking. “You’ve done something wrong, yet you still justify yourself?”

Celeste glared at him, “The biggest mistake I made was buying that damn pair of socks for you to pick on me!”

“Mr. Robinson, stop the car!” Both of them said in unison, their faces cold.

Celeste turned her head angrily and said, “You don’t need to kick me out of the car! I’ll leave on my own!”

Liam’s face looked even worse, saying, “When did I say I was kicking you out of the car?”

This gave Celeste the chance to bring up old scores. “Mr. Reed really has a short memory, he can forget about leaving someone on the side of the road in a blink!”

Liam’s eyebrows twitched, he said, “Celeste, enough! I haven’t settled with you about selling the bag yet!”

“Whatever, worst comes to worst, I’ll give back your money! I don’t want it anyway? Celeste said.

Mr. Robinson finally couldn’t help but interject, “Both of you calm down, it’s not worth it over such a small matter. Plus, we can’t stop here, the rain is getting quite heavy”

Celeste huffed, “What’s this bit of rain? Last time someone left me on the side of the road, it was raining much heavier than this!”

“Celeste Liam shouted.

Seeing that the two were about to argue again, Mr. Robinson raised his voice and said, “If you continue to argue, I’ll call the Old Lady!”

At this remark, the two finally quieted down.

Each turned their heads to the side, wishing they could be far away from each other.

Upon reaching their residence, Liam didn’t say a word and slammed the car door shut.

Celeste muttered “enough is enough”, then turned to Mr. Robinson and said, “Mr. Robinson, could you give this to Grandma for me?”

Mr. Robinson looked and saw that it was the car key that Steven had given her.

When they had left, Sienna was already resting Celeste had no choice but to ask Mr. Robinson, whom the old lady trusted most, to deliver it
