Celeste heard a faint voice, it seemed far away and a little hazy, almost unreal.
“Thanks,” she mumbled, trying to reach for her phone, but as she took a step, her legs went soft, and she couldn’t stand anymore.
Someone caught her waist and pulled her into their arms.
The stranger’s scent made her internal alarms go off. She tried to break free, but she was so weak, her struggle looked more like a playful game.
They dragged her out of the bar. A waiter noticed something was off and asked if they needed help.
Celeste wanted to scream for help, but a hand suddenly tightened around her neck, cutting off her breath. She couldn’t make a sound.
“We’re fine. She’s just my girlfriend having a bit too much to drink, and we’re having a little argument, one guy explained, while the other muttered, “You two fought, and I had to come with you to find her at the bar. Let’s hurry, I have stuff to do later!”
“Give them a call and say we found her, tell them to go home.”
Seeing the two men chatting naturally, the waiter didn’t ask any more questions. After all, this kind of thing was common in bars.
Once the waiter left, one of the guys placed a coat over Celeste’s head. They dragged her out of the bar. The hand gripping her neck finally loosened, and Celeste gasped for air.
“Phew, that was close!” one of them said as they left the bar. “This new drug works so well, it kicked in so fast!”
“Enough talking, call a cab.”
“The cab is already on its way. I’ll go buy some fun stuff,” he smirked disgustingly, “Tonight, she’s gonna enjoy it.”.
“Get me a few of those pills too.
“You couldn’t wait to get a taste of her inside earlier, could you?” They exchanged vulgar words, and Celeste’s face turned pale. Her mind was clear, and she could hear their conversation.
She was sure she had been drugged, probably from the half glass of lemon water she had when she got back on the phone. They must have slipped it in when she left.
She never thought something from a legal drama would happen to her.
These two were definitely not new to this, their teamwork was seamless. If she fell into their hands, her fate would be grim.
She couldn’t just wait for the worst!
To stay awake, Celeste bit her lip hard. The pain mixed with the taste of blood helped her stay alert.
She quietly gathered her strength and bit the arm of the guy who was on the phone with the taxi driver. He let go in pain, and Celeste stumbled and fell.
She couldn’t feel any pain. She struggled to stand and started to run.
“You bitch,” the man chased after her, grabbed her hair, and dragged her back.
Celeste fought back, quickly attracting the attention of passersby.
The man hugged her waist and smiled, “Baby, I’m sorry. Let’s go home, okay? From now on, I’ll listen to you, alright?”
“I don’t know him!”
Celeste tried to scream, but her voice was weak and quickly drowned out by the man’s voice, “Baby, don’t say such things even if you’re angry. It’s just a bag. I’ll buy it for you, okay?”
He turned to the crowd, “Really, this is my wife. We got married last year, and I have our marriage certificate on my phone.”
