Chapter 413

Liam lowered his head, responding softly

*Forget about your project for now, leave it to your subordinates Apologize if you need to, And make statements if necessary. Lets clean up thes mess thoroughly”

‘Got it.”

Someone raised a question, “My lady, isn’t this handling a bit unfair?”

This punishment sounded severe, but it didn’t affect Liam that much. Everyone knew that Liam’s ace in the hole was Smart Chips

The company he defended to the end, poured a ton of research funding into, had made significant advancements this year However, due to opposition back then, Quantum only had a 10% stake, with the remaining 50% being Liam’s personal investment

Who would’ve thought that this small, seemingly inconsequential company would rise from the ashes in a few years, becoming the most promising chip company in the industry.

When the company wasn’t making money, everyone shied away. But now that it started profiting, they’re all getting jealous.

Many shareholders thought Quantum’s investment was too little, tried to buy more shares of Smart Chips on multiple occasions but had been rejected by Liam

Once this company goes public, its momentum will be unstoppable.

With Liam holding more than 50% of the shares, that and that amount of money is like a snowball, doubling more than once, making everyone green with envy.

The old lady glanced at the questioner, “And how do you think we should handle it?”

“My lady, this incident has caused us shareholders, a great deal of loss. Since Mr. Reed is willing to compensate, why not sell 20% of Smart Chips shares to Quantum?”

The old lady chuckled at the suggestion, “If I remember correctly, when Liam first invested in Smart Chips, you were the most opposed. You said that the Smart Chips team was immature, the investment was hefty, and the chance of success was slim, resulting in the original 40% stake getting slashed down to 10%. Liam funded the R&D out of his pocket, and now some progress has been made, all of you are itching to buy those shares. Smart Chips was a private investment made by Liam, I don’t have the authority to decide for him.”

The shareholder blushed, not expecting the old lady to be so blunt.

“Since Quantum’s inception, we’ve weathered countless challenges. We used to pull together to survive crises, but now we’re debating who to blame and how to minimize personal loss. If we can only share the good times and not weather the storms together, there’s no point in having these meetings. If you’re unhappy, feel free to cash out.”

The room fell silent at these words.

No one expected the old lady to bring up cashing out.

Quantum wasn’t going to fall because of this. Everyone knew it was a temporary setback. The fierce debate was mainly to recover personal

losses.

But cashing out was something they hadn’t even considered. They had made a lot of money through Quantum over the years, they wouldn’t just cash out easily

“If there are no objections, we will end today’s discussion here. If you have any disagreement, voice it out. And don’t make any underhand moves behind my back, I won’t tolerate it.”

The issue eventually came to a temporary close with Liam handing over his project, and there were still online queries to handle. No matter what, a response had to be given to the public.

As he was leaving the venue, Wesley paused to look at Liam, suddenly making a sarcastic comment, “I didn’t expect you to be so sentimental, what a waste.”
