Chapter 423

Liam had a gloomy expression, and it seemed like there was a shadow over his face. Although you couldn’t see his real emotions, you wouldn’t underestimate him.

“Celeste, if you want this divorce, be sure you won’t regret it,” he said, draping his jacket over his arm. “After my business trip, we’ll get it done.”

After he said that, he ignored Celeste, turned around, and went upstairs.

Celeste sat on the sofa, stiffening her back with nerves. She finally relaxed after hearing the sound of the bedroom door closing upstairs

She knew she had pissed Liam off this time.

There was room for negotiation when he lost his temper, but when he was calm, it was too late

Divorcing?

Celeste sat on the sofa, tears welling up in her eyes. The decision to divorce had been weighing on her for so long, and now, at last, there was an answer. But she wasn’t as happy as she had expected.

She hugged her knees and buried her face in them.

Not far away on the table, the phone was still in use.

Skyler was listening to the voice on the other end with an equally gloomy expression.

Finally, the line was silent, and she hung up the phone.

She didn’t go back to her room that night but stayed in Grandpa David’s old guest room.

The room had been cleaned by the maid, and the bedding, fresh from airing, smelled like sunshine.

The room was cozy and comfortable.

But she couldn’t sleep.

As she tossed and turned, she thought about the look Liam had given her as he went upstairs and the words he said to her.

She barely slept that night.

In the morning light, the house began to stir.

It sounded like Liam was already up, and she heard Amelia helping him pack

She knew Liam was going to the City of A and would be away for about a week.

Amelia hadn’t been with them long and wasn’t familiar with Liam’s preferences and habits. She had to ask him his opinion about each item she packed.

After answering a few times, Liam got impatient and told her to figure it out herself.

About an hour later, the living room finally quieted down, and soon after, she heard the sound of a car starting outside.

Liam had left.

Celeste lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought. Finally, she picked up the phone and called Zach Miller.

“Mr. Miller, can you shoot my scenes first today?”

The driver today was a trustworthy friend chosen by Owen.

He was going on a business trip with Liam to the City of A as well.

When Liam returned to the car yesterday, he didn’t look good. He hadn’t rested well and might even have argued with Celeste.

In Owen’s opinion, as Liam’s assistant, Liam had tried his best to protect Celeste in this matter.

After the news broke, Liam immediately realized who the perpetrator was. He never thought about involving Celeste in it. He worried that he wouldn’t be able to control his emotions when he saw her, which is why he stayed in the apartment near the office that night.
