Chapter 569

“She’s a bastard child, and you’re bringing her flowers to celebrate?”

Nicolas immediately called Liam, “Hold off on the flower picking. Didn’t you see? Your ex–wife is in trouble!”

Liam was taken aback; his tone suddenly tensed. “What happened?”

Nicolas filled him in on the court saga: “Shawn is so heartless. He dumped Celeste right after your divorce! He’s been benefiting from Celeste for years. Now they think she’s useless, and they just ditch her without a second thought. After over twenty years, even a pet would have some emotional attachment. He’s just out to ruin Celeste’s reputation. You should’ve seen the look on Celeste’s face when she heard the news in court; her eyes were all red, and she probably cried her eyes out after the trial.”

Liam looked serious and anxiously asked, “Where’s the trial?”

“At XX court. She’s in a property dispute case with Shawn; Mason is the lawyer.” Nicolas paused. “Didn’t Mason tell you?”

Liam didn’t answer the question, grabbing his coat while saying, “Gotta go, we’ll talk later.”

“Hold up!” Nicolas stopped him and said, “You’re going to find Celeste, aren’t you? Take me with you. Trust me, without me, you won’t even be able to get through the door.”

He had seen the power of Trisha. She was Celeste’s bodyguard. With her around, Liam wouldn’t stand a chance to see Celeste. Twenty minutes later, Owen was driving Liam and Nicolas to Trisha’s apartment building.

Liam and Nicolas went up together.

Seeing Liam press for the ninth floor, Nicolas was quite surprised. “Do you know where Celeste lives?”

Liam didn’t say a word.

Celeste’s best girlfriend was here. Whenever there were disputes in the past, she would run here.

Once, she got drunk here at Trisha’s and called him to pick her up.

She told him the address herself.

By the time he arrived, Trisha and the other girls were all drunk, so no one knew he had been there.

Ninth floor, room 912

The room was near the elevator, visible as soon as one stepped out.

Nicolas rang the doorbell for a long time, but no one came to open the door.

He was a bit skeptical. “Did you get it wrong?”

Liam pursed his lips and said, “This is the place.”

Nicolas started ringing again. This time, 912 didn’t open, but 914 did. A girl poked her head out intending to shout, but seeing the two tall men, her voice instantly lowered: “912 isn’t back yet.”

Nicolas immediately smiled friendly and asked, “When do they usually come back?”

The girl whispered, “Usually around eight or nine in the evening.”

Liam glanced at the time; it was just past seven.

Nicolas thanked her and asked Liam, “Shall we wait in the car downstairs?”

Liam said, “You go to the car; I’ll wait here.”

Nicolas sighed, saying, “Alright, I’ll keep you company.”

There were many residents on the first floor of the apartment building, and it was not very convenient to stand in the corridor, so the two went to the stairwell.

They thought they would have to wait a long time, but not half an hour later, they heard Trisha’s voice.

“Mr. Garcia is so generous. If I ever want to jump ship, I’ll go to Skyline Media Group. With this kind of treatment, I wouldn’t mind working overtime.”
