Chapter 876

“How many problems have I solved for you over the years? You don’t have any creative talent or literary taste, yet you insist on writing scripts. Shouldn’t you have some sort of literary and artistic background? Are you illiterate?”

No one in the chat group dared to reply. The screenwriter fumed, “Trishal Watch your tone!”

“Screw you! Do you even deserve my respect? If you can’t write a script, you can hold a meeting with us and ask our little assistants to help you think about the plot, and then you mix everyone’s ideas together and make us do the editing”

“We can accept editing the script, because that’s our job. But you should at least respect us, right? When we’re burning the midnight oil editing your script, you’re out watching movies with your wife. You promised half of your income as a bonus for us, but when you sold it for 5 million, you only gave us 20 thousand. What, do you think we’re beggars? One of our coworkers complained about how stingy you are, and the next day you transferred her to another department. What’s the deal with that? Can’t we voice our opinions?”

“You always call for a meeting at 5:50 when we get off at 6. I don’t mind working late, but many of us have kids at home. They were looking forward to getting home early to be with their kids, but you made us stay in a meeting till 9 at night. Then you expect us to send you the edited script within three hours. Do you think we don’t have personal lives?”

The screenwriter responded with a smiley emoji, “I’ve taken a screenshot. Adults need to take responsibility for their actions.”

Trisha scoffed, “I would never be scared of you!”

A brief silence followed, then someone chimed in with “You’re our role model,” and soon the entire chat was filled with messages of support.

Although venting her frustrations felt good, it would likely cost her her job. After this incident, the company would certainly not keep her around.

She didn’t feel particularly attached to the company, but she had worked there for three or four years since graduating and had made many friends. If she really had to leave, she would feel a bit lost.

Trisha lounged on her couch and posted, ‘I’m unemployed, along with a picture of herself looking destitute. She set the privacy settings so her mother couldn’t see it.

It wasn’t that she was afraid of her mother worrying, but rather that she was afraid of her mother mocking her.

When she was about to go to bed after showering, she noticed a message from Jace Ledford.

“I have a friend who’s opening a studio and needs a scriptwriter. Do you want to join in?”

Trisha sat up in bed, excited. Is my luck finally turning around? She quickly picked up her phone and started chatting with Jace.

The next morning, Celeste woke up groggily and saw that it was already 8:30.

She sat up in shock, then fell back onto the bed. Once she got her bearings, she slowly turned to look at Liam lying next to her, naked, with his left arm under her head as a pillow and his right arm draped over her waist

From this angle, she could clearly see the scratches and hickeys on his body.

Pictures from last night flooded her mind, and she blushed.

She gently removed Liam’s arm from her waist and tried to slip out of bed quietly. But just as she got his arm off, he pulled her back into his arms.

“Where are you going?” Liam’s sleepy, husky voice asked.

Her face turned even redder with his hot body pressed against her. I’m going to the set.”

“You don’t have to,” Liam said, still with his eyes closed. “I’ve already asked for leave for you. We’ll go to the hospital later to see if there are any other components in that medicine and get a check–up.”

Relieved that Liam had asked for leave for her, Celeste felt a bit awkward about their current situation.

She hadn’t been drunk and her memory was clear. She remembered clearly how she had begged Liam to sleep with her and how he had repeatedly refused, only to finally agree reluctantly

Liam lay there for a while, then sat up and started getting dressed.

Celeste glanced at his back, and then closed her eyes. She was a bit ashamed of her behavior last night.

She pulled her clothes under the covers and started to get dressed.

Meanwhile, Celeste was thinking about how to bring up the fact that she didn’t take any responsibility for what happened last night.

Just as she was trying to figure out how to explain it, the door to the room was suddenly flung open and a group of people came barging in, all of them taking photos of Liam with their phones.
