Chapter 880

Celeste nodded in agreement, attempting to stand up, only to have her legs give way, causing her to stumble. Liam was taken aback and swiftly supported her, whispering, “What’s the matter?”

Feeling a bit flustered, it took Celeste a moment before she finally managed to say, “Do I walk in an ugly and embarrassing way?”

Liam’s mind raced, reminded of the intimate encounter they had shared the previous night, and he too felt embarrassed. He replied, “If you cover your face, no one will recognize you.”

Celeste fell silent, already aware that the answer was a resounding yes.

With no cold water available in the bathroom, Liam arranged for a room next door to be opened. After both of them freshened up, they found Owen’s arranged car waiting for them.

As the car started moving, Celeste began to contemplate their next course of action. The unexpected turn of events between them had caught her off guard, and she couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed.

In her plans, she wanted to discuss their feelings only after her career was stable.

Liam’s career was skyrocketing, and even if she couldn’t reach his status in the industry, she didn’t want the gap between them to be too large

Their first marriage failed not only because of suspicions but also because of their economic disparity.

The vast discrepancy between them always made her uneasy, questioning her own abilities and confidence to stand by his side. However, life often throws unexpected curveballs. They had now found themselves in bed together, completely unprepared, and had even taken things to the next level.

Should she inform Liam that she was drugged, causing her to sleep with him? Should she reassure him not to worry?

She scolded herself for even considering such thoughts. This was a terrible situation to be in!

Regret flooded her as she wondered why she didn’t resist last night. If she had known it would lead to this, she would have allowed Liam to take her to the hospital instead. The embarrassment would have been preferable to her current predicament.

“Last night… that was an accident,” Before Celeste could figure out what to say, Liam spoke first.

“Don’t overthink it. Just consider me as an antidote, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself,” Liam looked at her gently, “I know you were drugged last night, that’s why you did that with me. If it were someone else, you would do the same. It doesn’t mean anything special. But I’m still glad it was me.

I won’t make any demands of you because of last night. Whatever you want to do, I’ll respect you.”

Celeste turned silent

What should she do? She felt even worse now.

She was the one who had slept with him, and now he was making excuses for her.

Celeste ruffled her hair, and after a while, she blushed and said, “It wouldn’t be the same with anyone else. I wouldn’t do that with anyone else.”

Liam paused, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He carefully asked, “Letti, did you do it because it was me?”

Covering her face in embarrassment, Celeste didn’t want to answer, “Can you stop asking so many details? My mind is a mess right now.”

Liam looked at her tenderly and said softly, “Alright, as long as you don’t avoid me, I’m afraid you’ll think I’m using you and then despise and alienate me.”

Liam talking to her in this plaintive tone made her uncomfortable.

She said quietly, “I haven’t lost my memory.”

Liam had been turned down a bunch of times already, even though this time it was her who insisted on it.

Liam gently tousled her hair and said softly, “I’ve told you before, you can use me however you want, emotionally or physically, I’m game. So don’t feel burdened, I won’t use this to pressure you into accepting my advances.”

Celeste turned her head, her ears red, and after what felt like forever, she finally said, “How about… we give it a shot and try dating for six months?”
