Chapter 939

Liam paused, “I respect all orientations but prefer to be with someone normal.”

Celeste…

Simon was trying hard to suppress his laughter across the table; his facial muscles were almost cramping.

He glanced at Michaela, his eyes questioning. “See, I told you he wouldn’t recognize her”

Michaela took a sip of her tea and whispered, “Liam’s nearsighted The wedding venue is dimly lit, and he’s far away, he probably can’t see clearly. Then she added, “Celeste’s disguise is quite good”

Celeste’s constantly changing voice made it hard for ordinary people to recognize

Michaela wasn’t wrong Liam’s eyesight wasn’t great

He didn’t take a close look at Celeste. His sight brought back a heavily made–up face with deep features. His mind was full of thoughts about whether Mason had regained his memory, he didn’t have the mood to look at Celeste closely

Celeste was feeling down. Half a day had passed, and that idiot Liam still hadn’t recognized her!

Wasn’t he the one who claimed that he’d never mistake her for someone else? What a load of bull!

Celeste glanced at the man, who was focused on his meal, and playfully hooked her foot around Liam’s leg.

Liam shot up as if he’d been electrocuted.

His reaction was so big that even the table shook a bit.

Celeste looked at him with an innocent face

Liam looked grim, seemingly fuming but not knowing how to vent. Finally, he said coldly, “I need to use the restroom.”

After saying that, he pushed his chair away and stormed off.

Celeste’s eyes sparkled, she stood up and said, “I need to use the restroom too” Then she also left her seat.

Trisha immediately stood up, but before she could move, Nicolas grabbed her wrist, “Come with me, I’ve got something to ask you”

Trisha instinctively tried to pull her hand away.

Nicolas held her tighter, hooking her shoulder and threatening in a low voice, “Do you still want me to help you pad your resume for a job hop?” “No need“”

As Trisha spoke, she tried to shake him off.

Nicolas squinted. Then should I tell the company you’re job–hopping to that you forged your resume?”

Trisha froze, then glared at him, “You’re despicable!”

Nicolas smirked, “How else am I going to make big bucks?”

Jace saw the two shoulder to shoulder and asked. “Trisha, you guys up to something?”

Before Trisha could even speak, Nicolas chimed in, “Keep the chit chat between us two, yeah? No need for outsiders” With that, he dragged a protesting and complaining Trisha away

On the other hand, Liam had just come out of the bathroom when he bumped into Celeste in the corridor

He furrowed his brows, trying to sidestep her

But Celeste swiftly moved to block his path

“Mr. Reed, you’re not just going to bail on me like that, are you?”

Liam didn’t even bother to look at her. “Move!”

But Celeste didn’t budge, instead leaning into him “My feet are killing me. Can you help me out?”

Liam held back for a moment, then couldn’t hold it in any longer. He pushed her away. “Get a grip!”

Celeste was pushed into the wall, letting out an “ouch” that exposed her actual state

Liam’s movements suddenly halted, and he turned to look at her, his face full of shock.

Rubbing her arm, Celeste didn’t catch Liam’s expression She pretended to be unaffected retorting, “Mr Reed, you always this rough with the ladies?”

Liam marched up to her with a stern face, finally taking a good look at her.

The mole at her earlobe was in the exact same spot as Celeste’s!

Her eyes were twinkling with mischief.
