Chapter 992

Just as he was wondering where she’d gone, he heard noises from the kitchen.

Nicolas, towel in one hand, walked towards the kitchen.

A slim figure was busy placing food in the fridge by the kitchen.

All kinds of fruits, vegetables, snacks, as well as some frozen foods.

Nicolas was stunned, watching her skillfully fill up the previously empty fridge.

He came from a big family, and even though he was the youngest, he didn’t receive any extra attention.

Having not grown up with his parents, he was distant with his elder siblings. His parents often scolded him for his “bad habits” from growing up in the countryside

So when he got into university, he moved out. He’s been living alone all these years, only going back home for a few days on occasional holidays.

But even those short few days would make him feel unbearable.

His parents were proud of his achievements and bragged about him in front of their relatives and friends. But they didn’t care about the hardships he’d gone through, or how he ate or slept during busy work periods.

Whenever they visited him, they’d comment on his lifestyle and urge him to get married, introducing him to their friends‘ daughters. They never noticed that his fridge only had alcohol.

Maybe they did notice, but they didn’t care

Even his ex–girlfriends might have expressed concern verbally, but they didn’t really care.

Trisha was the only one who stuffed his fridge full every time she came over.

Even though she used his money

After the last item was placed, Trisha looked at the full fridge and finally felt satisfied.

Just as she was closing the fridge door, she saw Nicolas, who’d been standing in front of the fridge at some point. She got a fright and felt her heart race. “You could’ve said something when you came out, you scared me!”

Looking at her angry face, Nicolas suddenly felt cheerful.

With his arms crossed and leaning against the fridge door, he smirked, “You little rascal. I find that even though you’re not that delicate, you’re quite domestic. You can cook, clean, and even game with me. You’re quite a good companion.”

Hearing him say “not that delicate“, Trisha frowned.

“You have pretty lips, yet you don’t know how to praise someone.”

After saying that, she picked up the shopping bag on the floor, pushed him aside, and left the kitchen.

Nicolas, rubbing the spot where she’d bumped into him, laughed softly and followed her

“I said lots of nice things, but all you remember are the things you don’t like.”

Trisha retorted, “I don’t think you praising me as domestic is a compliment. Do you think that I can only cook and do nothing else? How would you feel if I called you that?”

Sitting next to her, Nicolas said, “You’re misunderstanding me. I was sincerely complimenting you. A gentle and elegant girl like you, isn’t that what men dream of in

a wife?”

Trisha glanced at him, “You mean a housewife, right? One who can do household chores, provide companionship, and bear children?”

Nicolas didn’t say anything….

“Isn’t it too generalizing? I like girls like that, but it doesn’t mean they can’t have their own careers. They can like cooking, but not necessarily have to cook. I didn’t have anyone cooking for me when I was young. I just love the family atmosphere when cooking and eating together.”

Trisha was surprised and took a while to respond, “I thought you liked those heavily made–up club girls?”
