Chapter 249: The Last Trick?
'Things have gotten derailed because of what happened now, his power has increased far higher from what his body can handle, for now, how should I proceed after this? It was supposed to be only 20% but now it is over 40%,' Kurumi was worried about Haru since keeping the flame in check was getting harder, there was no way to stop it.
It was only delayed by feeding it with excess energy so that it doesn't explode in search of something to feast on. She remembered the figure's words and it made perfect sense.
'Should I go with the original plan or will I have to do as that imposter said, No that can be problematic I am sure he has already set his plan in motion for a while, so heading into things won't be good,' Kurumi was coming up with different plans in her head for how to go forward. But it wasn't the only one that had a lot on their mind.
'What was that fire? How did it happen? Is it something that will happen later on?' Haru's mind was full of questions after what he saw before. even though he tried to deny it by thinking it was an illusion or something similar.
He didn't just see two worlds, he saw hundreds of thousands of worlds burning up in that fire, whole solar systems, galaxies, and dimensions evaporated into nothingness.
He wasn't able to rest after seeing that view but the most important thing was…..
'It does coincide with Hae-in's dream as well, does that mean it happens in the future but Jin-ah doesn't look any older along with Hae-in saying that no one in her dream remembered me but Jin-woo definitely recognized me there, is it connected?' Haru frowned slightly thinking about what to do since things were a bit messy at the moment.
'Then there is also how I wasn't able to touch them,' Haru couldn't wrap his head around it since he was able to blow the earth to bits but wasn't able to touch Jin-woo, it was almost like someone was interfering with him.
'She looked a bit on edge before, does it relate to what happened before? But if she isn't telling me about it, then…' Haru stopped his line of thought since he arrived at a conclusion to this and looked at Kurumi making her tilt her head slightly.
"Kurumi, can I ask for your help?" Haru asked slowly.
"Anything, just say it," Kurumi smiled softly caressing Haru's head.
"I want to get stronger quickly," Haru spoke what he wanted without a second thought.
"As you wish Ha-kun," Kurumi said with a smile and Haru nodded.
'You see this is the difference between the real and the fake, So, I guess. I'll play your little game,' Kurumi smiled at Haru who looked like he was in deep thought at the moment.
'This isn't the time to think about anything else...'
'All I need to do is...'
'Become stronger/Make him stronger,'
Haru and Kurumi's thoughts were in perfect sync. The two trusted each other far more than they let on. It was almost unnatural in a way, but also the most natural thing for them.
But the peaceful moment didn't last for long since someone had arrived.
"What is happening here?" Jin-woo looked at both Haru and Kurumi with twitching eyes.
Kurumi and Haru looked at Jin-woo who had just come out of a portal.
"What happened to you? You look like you were thrown in the middle of your Fanclub," Haru spoke while looking at Jin-woo's appearance, Jin-woo's hair was disheveled, his clothes ripped and burned with him sweating heavily.
"I was having a match with Antares or someone like him at least, it was quite a tough fight," Jin-woo said while sitting down in front of Haru looking at him with a face that read.
'Are you going to answer me or what?'
"Nothing we were just flirting a little," Haru shrugged while sitting up and Kurumi turned back to her small fox form jumping on Haru's shoulder.
"At least spare the fox," Jin-woo clicked his tongue and looked at Haru in disgust.
"This just a form that is the least energy consuming nothing more to it," Kurumi spoke with a yawn and Haru shrugged.
'Still doesn't change you are a fox, does it?' Jin-woo didn't ask about Kurumi further since the matter looked complicated and he would honestly stay away from this altogether.
"So is that Raum the same as well," Jin-woo asked while pointing at Raum who was playing by himself in the distance.
"No Raum is a boy and he can't change into a human, also why are you even asking this?" Haru asked with a deep frown, he felt like he was being accused of something right now.
"Well you never know how things go with you," Jin-woo shook his head in dismay since it wouldn't be a surprise if Raum could turn into a girl as well.
"What do you mean?" Haru asked with twitching eyebrows.
"You know exactly what I mean," Jin-woo said while wiggling his eyebrow.
"Damn you I'll let this slide once," Haru pouted and stood up walking away.
"The Harem protag can't deny it, huh?" Jin-woo snickered making Haru pause mid-walk.
"Let's throw down you damn bastard," Haru turned around and shouted.
Kurumi looked at the two bickering and shook her head, she was already busy thinking about what to do next and more importantly.
'Ha-kun genuinely wants to become stronger, what he saw must've triggered something,' Kurumi thought and like that a month passed by.
The last month had been quite hectic around the world since everyone had a lot to do.
Dicathen was busy stabilizing itself after the purge of many nobles and important people around the continent, which was carried out discreetly without the knowledge of the common people.
The royal families had to work their asses off because of the amount of work they had to do. They have never worked harder in their life.
Alacrya was also going through many changes after the Vritra's were wiped out, and the control fell into the hand of the strongest people present which were the scythes or more specifically, in the hands of Seris who was now the new ruler of Alacrya.
The people who were left after facing Haru feared him to a great degree. It was so severe that they didn't even want to come out at night anymore since the moonless sky reminded them of a scene they wanted to forget so desperately.
This was also the reason that Seris was able to take control without any resistance because….
'I have great expectations from you Seris,'
That was what Haru said before he went away and no one fought over the throne.
'He definitely did it on purpose, but it worked well for me so I am not complaining,' Seris was very busy right now because of the damage that Alacrya sustained during that short but long hour in which they confronted Haru.
Melzri and Viessa who were the only other scythes along with the retainers worked under Seris day and night. The common people didn't have any problems about how things were going with the nobles having no choice but to follow Seris since she had the most power right now.
They really had no chance to rest since they were also about to have a peace treaty meeting with the Council of Dicathen in a few months' time when both continents settle down.
But even if Dicathen and Alacrya had it tough, Epheotus was in the worst possible situation at the moment.
They had lost many clan leaders and elite warriors which spread unease around the continent. But Kazees did his best to make things better because.
In Haru's words…..
'If you mind your own business I don't have a problem with you, but if you mess with me again I'll make your continent the second Atlantis if it somehow survives,'
Although Kazees didn't understand what Haru meant, but from the tone of his voice it was clear that it wasn't something good.
The leading clans for their respective races understood very well, That they should mess with that group again. It won't end with the loss of troops next time.
Kazees was a bit relieved that he was able to get support from the people because Haru let him take the Asuras Agrona had in his lab. But he didn't think that there was another trick hidden in it.
