Chapter 306: Holiday at the Village (Part One)

Jing Yichen drove out of the underground parking lot of Jingsheng Enterprise with Shangguan Ning. Soon they reached the highway.

Shangguan Ning didn’t notice the road they were on because she was glaring at Jing Yichen angrily, fearing that their relationship would be known across the entire enterprise the very next day.

“Baby, I will get overly proud if you admire me in this way.”

As a matter of fact, what he wanted to say was –”I feel much more assured when you, my honey, glare at me as you usually do rather than stay silent and expressionless like yesterday.”

Shangguan Ning couldn’t get her fingers out of Jing Yichen’s hand. She raised their hands and then took a huge bite upon the back of his hand, leaving a mark.

It hurt a bit upon the back of his hand.

“What do you mean by admire you? This is a scary look, okay?”

Jing Yichen smiled. He leaned forward and gave a quick kiss upon her lips before continuing to drive.

He refused to let go of her hand.

Not being able to pull out her hand, Shangguan Ning finally left her hand as is. Actually, she had wanted to let it stay in his hand, because the warmth of his palm brought her warmth.

“What are you doing at the company? Didn’t you go to the hospital? Finished the matter?”

“Not yet, someone else took over. My main responsibility is to keep you company.”

He said the last line with a grave face. That softened Shangguan Ning’s heart.

She thought for a while and asked, “Is Tang Yun alright? She is not in a fatal danger, is she?”

Although she didn’t like Tang Yun, yet she had not thought about making her suffer. She had saved Jing Yichen’s life after all, and arguing with her was one thing whilst making her suffer, another.

Miscarriage could be very huge thing for a woman. It could be fatal too.

Although she had no idea who was the father of the child, yet it was a life after all. Shangguan Ning actually felt a bit bad when she had been kicked to the ground by Jing Yichen and ended up losing the baby.

Jing Yichen said seriously, “Tang Yun is fine. But Ning, you don’t have to tolerate her because of me. I have tolerated her enough and you don’t have to pay for what I have done, because you don’t owe her anything. I have always kept her safe through someone else, and I do want to repay my gratitude. But if she hurts you, I won’t leave her alone. I won’t mix them up, because these are two completely different matters.”

Jing Yichen had already lost patience with Tang Yun at this stage.

He just couldn’t tolerate that someone was trying to ruin his family and his relationship with Shangguan Ning.

They had always been in deep happiness. Had it not been for Tang Yun, they might never have argued with each other ever in their life.

That one time argument already made Jing Yichen felt guilty enough.

Difficulties were always a barrier for relationships, which required full hearted devotion of two sides so that the relationship could become better and better.

It was unrealistic when two people in a relationship full of misunderstanding and arguments, came together in the end as what the novels, and movies showed.

In real life, huge misunderstandings would make relationships less strong rather than deeper.

Jing Yichen knew Shangguan Ning well. She took everything seriously and gave up what was meant to be given up. She never dwelled long on one single matter and liked everything to be simple and straightforward, especially when it came to love.

The moment he married her, his goal had been giving her a steady and happy life. He had taken full responsibility of everything and acted as her umbrella against storms, because he wanted to see her bright smile rather than tears.

If she had tears, then they must be tears of happiness rather than sadness.

Seeing Jing Yichen talk in such a serious way, Shangguan Ning had already forgiven him for what happened the day before.

It hadn’t been Jing Yichen’s fault. It had been Tang Yun who was putting on the show.

She had been just too impulsive and angry the day before, and even if the news was false, she as his wife, was not able to stay calm after hearing that some woman was pregnant with her husband’s child.

She knew pretty well that she cared a lot for him, and hence feared that there was much to lose.

She nodded and answered, “Okay, I see.”

Only when she came back to herself did she realize that they were on the highway.

“Where are you taking me?”

Jing Yichen said in an indulgent way, “I am taking you on a holiday. I like it when you are happy and I am sure you will like the place I have chosen.”

Actually, a holiday was not necessary, because Shangguan Ning had vented her anger and stomped hard upon Tang Yun. She was no longer pissed and would become happy again within a couple of days, like usual.

But her man cared so much about her that he was pampering her. She felt her heart was so full of emotions, so she didn’t turn him down.

They drove for almost two hours before reaching a relatively quiet path.

After they travelled for a while and went through a forest, they were greeted with a lovely view.

It was an endlessly stretching field. A brook was flowing through the farm field and seemed to lead into the edge of the sky. There was a patch of red tilted houses where smoke rose high up into the sky. It was a countryside.

Somewhere close to them were a couple of exquisitely looking villas.

Jing Yichen drove to one of the villas and someone came out to greet them.

Shangguan Ning looked at this place in surprise, and was happy looking at the endlessly vast area and the fresh air.

Jing Yichen parked and walked out with Shangguan Ning.

“Greetings, Master and Lady!” A woman in her 50s greeted them courteously. Her round face was covered with a happy smile and she looked friendly.

She was dressed in a set of clean clothes and her hair was neatly combed. Her face was white and she didn’t look like someone who worked in the village. Instead, she looked like a woman who had been guarding the villa for Jing Yichen.

Shangguan Ning didn’t know her and had no idea how she recognized her either. Maybe it had been because of Jing Yichen who informed her ahead of time.

Jing Yichen took hold of Shangguan Ning’s hand and said calmly, “Ning, this is Aunt Fu, the Butler of this villa. You can ask her for anything.”

Shangguan Ning nodded at the woman and said, “Greeting Aunt Fu, we will need your care for the next few days.”
