Chapter 126 The Book Of Darkness
Chapter 126 The Book Of Darkness
[You have just witnessed the remarkable awakening of the Apostle of the God of Patience. The experience was truly extraordinary, and you have been awarded six stat points as a reward!]
A notification from the System popped up in front of Nathan, one which he had not anticipated.
"God of Patience? God of Virtues?"
Nathan watched Linda, who seemed to be unable to contain her anger. He attempted to get closer, but Yudan pulled him back, placing his hand on Nathan's shoulder.
"Nathan, I think we should leave. I have a feeling this is not going to end well."
"Night, Silver!" Nathan called out to his two golems, as his gut told him he had to be prepared for the battle.
"Yudan, Meriel, please stay away from me," he said slowly. "Let me face Linda."
But Meriel shook her head quickly. "Mr. Nathan," she said with a tremor in her voice, "Linda has an above-average surge of energy. I'm afraid that even the three of us won't be able to deal with it."
"What should we do to wake her up?" Nathan asked firmly. "If we fight back with all our might, I'm afraid something will happen to Linda, and I don't want that to happen."
Linda spread her wings quickly and flew towards Nathan. He was slow to react and nearly got hit by her claws. However, Golem Silver was suddenly in front of him and blocked her.
Silver's shield clashed with Linda's attack, creating a deafening sound in their ears.
Silver and Night then advanced to battle Linda, while the other tried to find a way to beat her with the remaining Mana and Stamina they had at the moment. "We have to think of something," Nathan said.
"The God Apostles!" Yudan declared confidently. "It appears the rumors were true," he continued.
"The God Apostles!" Yudan declared confidently. "It appears the rumors were true," he continued.
"How did you from Yunatea hear of this, while we on New Earth, no, Yudan?"
Nathan had previously heard of this suspicion from Marco, yet he had not expected it to turn out like this. Instead of Blessing, Nathan regarded what Linda had received this time as a curse.
Linda had gained tremendous power, yet her body had changed completely like a demon, and even she could not control herself.
"Patience?" How could Linda, someone wild and often controlled by her anger, have received a blessing from the God of Patience?
The three of them then ran away, looking for a place to hide for a while to discuss what they should do.
"We dwarfs have a wide information network, and I'm lucky to get this information. According to what I know, some parties in New Earth are doing a project to awaken their own God apostles. But I didn't expect that the God apostle they hoped for would be born like this," Yudan explained.
"If Linda gets out of the Crescent Moon Dimension, I'm afraid she will attack the other participants, and we won't be able to control her," Nathan added.
While Nathan and the others were hiding in a secluded cave, his two golems tried to subdue Linda.
"What will happen to Ms. Linda? How did she lose control?" Meriel asked in a concerned voice.
Nathan, Meriel, and Yudan were lacking in both mana and stamina, rendering them unable to fight. Meanwhile, Linda's new look made her seem ready to pounce on anyone nearby. Indeed, Night and Silver were immediately incapacitated by her attack.
"We need to take care of Linda before our time in this dimension runs out," Nathan said in a rush.
"God of Patience, how ironic that she's in a fit of wrath," Yudan remarked, a hint of irony in his voice.
Linda chased after Nathan, managing to disable both of the golems with her attacks. She shot into the air, and in a flash, she was right in front of him.
Nathan instantly unsheathed his two swords. There was no other option. He had to fight.
Quickly, Linda lunged toward Nathan, but he was ready and swiftly blocked her attack with both swords. He darted back, quickly countering each of Linda's moves with great accuracy.
Linda then quickly changed direction and tightly grabbed Yudan by the neck.
"Yudan!!!" Nathan yelled, sprinting towards Linda. His body shot forward like lightning with the speed of his "Lightning Step!" skill.
Nathan struck Linda's hand with the handle of his sword, but she dexterously tossed Yudan away.
Yudan was thrown to the ground, and he appeared helpless once more.
"What! Yudan!" Nathan exclaimed.
Meriel was spotted running towards Yudan in the far distance, and Nathan attempted to redirect Linda's attention.
He tried to use all his senses to defend against each of Linda's assaults. He could not use any more skills, as he was almost out of mana and stamina, so he had to do with whatever he had.
"Linda! It's me, Nathan!" he shouted desperately, but Linda's gaze was vacant, and her strikes became more and more violent.
After that, Nathan clashed strength again with Linda. Linda truly flew by quickly, striking Nathan's rib and causing him to be thrown far back.
Meriel immediately reached out to help Nathan stand up. "Mr. Yudan is alright, despite being badly hurt," she said. "Mr. Nathan, we have to get out of here. I have an idea that might be able to help us solve this problem."
Nathan quickly grabbed Meriel and ran away, with Linda right behind them. Geen and Fang then tried to stop her, but Nathan continued to escape with Meriel, desperately hoping to get out of the dangerous situation.
Nathan ran with haste between the large boulders that littered the arid and murky terrain, tightly clasping Meriel's wrist.

"Mr. Nathan," Meriel said, her voice trembling as they watched Linda hovering in the sky, her gaze fixed on Nathan. Linda seemed to be gathering speed as she dove toward him, and they had no idea what she would do next.
This happened so suddenly that Nathan couldn't think of what was happening. God of Apostle, patience.
He ran quickly, trying to hide, although what he was doing was just prolonging the time.
Nathan thought about using all the skill slots he had or doing his best which he could do, but Linda wasn't his enemy. She just lost consciousness. "But wait, would mental healing skills have an effect on her?"
After that, he remembered Luna's words that the effect of the blessing from God couldn't be neutralized in this way. The only thing Nathan could do was to fight Linda and make her powerless, maybe by cutting her wings?
Nathan turned to Meriel, grasping her hands in his. "Meriel, tell me, what should we do?"
"We need to make a contract, Mr. Nathan," she answered urgently.
They seemed to have no other way to run. Linda could really fly fast and nimbly. Moreover, she could fly and easily find Nathan.
"Tell me how."
"Mr. Nathan, I am Meriel Heijor offering myself to be your bond. I give my life to you and allow me to follow you whenever I want. Please say yes if you agree," Meriel said quickly, her face full of determination.
"I agree!" Nathan answered with a shrug, not wanting to be opposed to Meriel's will.
Linda planted her feet firmly on the ground from a great height, causing the ground to shake with force. Her face was full of rage, leaving her opponents no other option.
Meriel quickly offered, "I'll give you some of my blood," but then stopped when Nathan moved his face closer to hers. She could see that there was a bit of blood on her lips, but that wasn't what she was referring to.
Meriel closed her eyes as Nathan sucked a drop of blood from her lips. At the same time, black-colored energy exploded from both of their bodies, resembling a powerful hurricane enveloping them.
Linda seemed to have difficulty getting closer as an energy explosion seemed to flow through the bodies of the two of them.
Nathan closed his eyes, feeling the surge of energy rush through his veins like a river. It seemed to draw him inwards until he felt as if he was a single point. He was filled with visions he had never seen before.

"Master Nathan," Luna's voice vibrated in Nathan's ears. "You have fulfilled one requirement to acquire one more of the most valuable artifacts in this place. The Book of Darkness, this is the grimoire that holds some of the dark creature generals who will be ready to serve you henceforth."
[The Book of Darkness pleaded for your name and offered its loyalty]
[The first chapter of The Book of Darkness is now completely open]
[Rowena, the creature from the darkness, awoke to offer her service]
He turned to see Linda rushing towards him, ready to launch another attack.
Nathan drew his swords, the two blades clashing amidst the blazing fire.
Suddenly, a booming explosion created a wall of dark smoke in front of him, and out of it stepped a woman dressed in black, her blonde hair swaying in the wind.
"Oh my, oh my...I've got myself an incredibly handsome and valiant master. I can feel my heart flutter, my body tingles. I'd be honored to serve you with all my heart, Master,"
Nathan heard the alluring voice of a mature woman caressing his ear.
