Chapter 309: Berserker mode
Damien chuckled condescendingly. "Love, Blake? Is that what you call this pathetic display?" he scoffed, gesturing disdainfully at Blake. "No, what Rose deserves is a mate of true strength and power. Someone who can protect her, provide for her, be everything she needs."
A surge of anger ignited within Blake..."You'll never lay a hand on her," he vowed, his voice steady despite the turmoil raging within him.
Damien's smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with malice. "Oh, but I will, Blake," he countered, his tone dripping with menace. "I'll take both Rose and your daughter under my wing. I'll be the one to sing them lullabies, to tuck them in at night, to be their protector."
As Damien spoke, a sinister aura enveloped him, his words carrying the weight of his dark intentions. "You see, Blake," he continued, his voice oozing with superiority, "you were never meant to be the one. It's time for a change of leadership. And I will ensure that change comes to fruition, no matter the cost."
Blake's voice quivered with restrained fury as he locked eyes with Damien. "Rose will never see you as anything more than a monster," he declared, his words laced with conviction. "She'll never love you the way she loves me."
Damien's lips curled into a sinister smile at Blake's defiance. With a slow, deliberate movement, he lowered himself closer to Blake, his gaze piercing. "Ah, Blake," he murmured, his tone dripping with amusement. "You underestimate the power of persuasion."
As Damien spoke, he glanced around as if sharing a secret with the very walls themselves. "If Rose won't love me," he continued, his voice low and chilling, "what about your dear daughter?"
A chill swept through Blake as he processed Damien's words, his worst fears coming to fruition. "You wouldn't dare," he hissed, his hands curling into fists at his sides.
Damien's smile widened, the gleam in his eyes betraying his twisted intentions. "After all," he purred, his tone dripping with malice, "I'm not her daddy, am I?"
Blake's rage erupted like a volcano as he lunged at Damien, his hands grasping for the icy crown atop Damien's head. With a ferocious growl, he tore at the ice armor covering Damien's chest, ripping out chunks of frozen material.
But Blake's fury knew no bounds. Damien's cruel words had unleashed a primal force within him. He seized Damien by the skull, delivering a bone-crushing punch that sent Damien skidding across the icy floor.
Launching himself across the room, Blake pounced on Damien, his fingers tearing through the icy facade protecting Damien's face. Each blow landed with the force of a sledgehammer, shredding the frosty armor and revealing the vulnerable flesh beneath.
Desperate to halt Blake's relentless assault, Damien drove shards of ice into Blake's chest and abdomen. But to his horror, the ice seemed to have little effect, merely penetrating Blake's body without slowing his onslaught.
Blake's onslaught continued unabated, his fists raining down on Damien's face with relentless fury. Each blow reverberated throughout the mansion, causing cracks to spiderweb across the walls and debris to rain down from the ceiling.
Amidst the fury of blows, Blake's voice pierced the chaos, his words dripping with venomous rage. "You bastard!" he roared, each syllable punctuated by a savage punch to Damien's face. "You'll never lay a finger on my daughter or Rose again!"
With each strike, Blake's resolve grew stronger, fueled by an unyielding determination to protect those he loved. "You think you can tear my family apart?" he spat, his voice raw with emotion. "You're nothing but a coward, Damien!"
His fists bludgeoning Damien's face, Blake's primal screams echoed through the mansion, a testament to the depth of his fury. "I'll crush you!" he bellowed.
As the onslaught continued, Blake's voice rang out with unbridled ferocity, each word a vow to defend his loved ones at any cost. "You'll pay for what you've done!" he swore, his voice a thunderous roar that reverberated through the crumbling halls.
Damien's features contorted in agony as Blake's relentless assault reshaped his face. Despite his attempts to defend himself, Damien could do little to fend off Blake's relentless barrage.
As the violence reached its peak, Damien's ice armor began to crumble, leaving him defenseless against Blake's wrath. Yet still, Blake's onslaught continued, fueled by an unquenchable thirst for vengeance.
Blake's frenzied assault on Damien finally came to a gradual halt not for any reason but because his senses were drawn to a familiar voice calling out to him. Turning his gaze, he spotted Reggie standing nearby, his expression a mix of shock and horror as he witnessed the aftermath of Blake's relentless onslaught.
Blake's fists clenched at his sides, his chest heaving as he struggled to regain control of his emotions. He followed Reggie's gaze to Damien's motionless form, the sight of the fallen tyrant evoking a complex whirlwind of emotions within him.
Reggie's voice broke through Blake's internal turmoil, cutting through the haze of adrenaline-fueled rage. "It's over, Blake," he said softly, his words carrying the weight of finality. "You've won."
Blake slowly rose to his feet, his gaze shifting between Reggie and Damien's battered form. A sense of disbelief washed over him as he took in the extent of the damage he had inflicted upon his adversary.
Reggie began to approach Blake cautiously, his movements tentative as he reached out a hand in a gesture of solace. "We need to leave," he urged, his voice tinged with urgency. "The building won't hold much longer."
Struggling to process the chaos unfolding around him, Blake's thoughts turned to daughter. He had asked the knights to leave with her, what was Reggie still doing behind?
"Where is she?" he demanded, his voice laced with concern. Reggie already seemed to know who Blake was referring to.
Reggie's reply was swift and resolute. "She's safe," he assured Blake. "But we need to go now."
"I need to get Rose," he declared, his tone firm and unwavering. "You go ahead. I'll find her and catch up."
"Be careful," he cautioned.
