Chapter 97: End game?
Chapter 97: End game?
Rose sat behind her wheels, head against the steering wheel. Eyes flooding with tears. She was out of the prison and was back in town.
She was parked outside a restaurant where she went to get ice cream. Not like she liked it, but Blake mentioned it while they discussed and on her way back, she decided to get one.
Sadly, she only had a scoop before it became tasteless and her mouth became salty with tears brewing.
Seeing Blake's face and the condition he was in ripped her into a million pieces.
She cried so much her make up became a paint smeer.
She cried so much she was surprised she even had the ability to even make tears.
"Fuck!! Fuck!! Fuck!!" She slammed her hand on the car steering wheekl, the car honk blaring crazily loud. She was unraveling on the spot.
Cars from behind her were blaring at her as well. Apparently she had parked wrongly and was blocking people's way out.
'I can't even do anything right,' Rose sobbed as she turned on the ignition and tried to manoeuver her way out of the drive through.
Rose drove to the beach with a heavy heart, her mind filled with memories of her conversation with Blake. They had talked about visiting the beach together, about feeling the sand between their toes and watching the sunset over the ocean. It was a simple dream, but one that now felt impossibly out of reach.
When she arrived, she parked her car far from the shoreline, avoiding the sun's harsh rays that would have burned her delicate skin. Instead, she waited until dusk had fallen and darkness cloaked the beach in shadows before venturing out onto the sand.
Alone with her thoughts, Rose walked along the shoreline, her footsteps leaving imprints in the damp sand that were quickly washed away by the incoming tide. She listened to the rhythmic sound of the waves crashing against the shore, their ceaseless motion a reminder of the passage of time.
But there was no peace to be found in the tranquility of the beach. Instead, Rose found herself consumed by a sense of loneliness and longing, her heart heavy with the weight of all that had transpired.
She sat alone on the sand, her gaze fixed on the horizon as she watched the stars emerge one by one in the darkening sky. Each twinkling light seemed to mock her, a cruel reminder of the vast emptiness that stretched out before her.
As the night wore on, Rose remained lost in her thoughts, her mind drifting back to Blake and the life they might have had together. She imagined what it would have been like to watch the sunrise with him, to feel his hand in hers as they walked along the shoreline.
But those dreams were nothing more than fantasies now, shattered by the harsh realities of their world. And as the hours passed, Rose felt her sadness deepen, the weight of her grief pressing down on her like a heavy burden. again.
Rose found herself drawn to the crashing waves and the vast expanse of the sea, its infinite horizon mirroring the depths of her own despair. She walked along the shoreline, the sand soft beneath her feet, but she felt no solace in its embrace.
Instead, her mind was consumed by thoughts of Blake and the injustice of his situation. She replayed their conversation in her mind, every word a painful reminder of her own inadequacy. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore seemed to mock her, their relentless rhythm echoing her own sense of futility.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow across the sky, Rose remained rooted to the spot, her gaze fixed on the horizon. The beauty of the sunset was lost on her, overshadowed by the darkness that consumed her soul.
Hours passed, but Rose made no attempt to leave. She watched as the sky darkened and the stars began to twinkle overhead, their distant light offering no comfort to her troubled mind.
Eventually, as the first light of dawn began to creep across the sky, Rose knew it was time to leave. With a heavy heart, she rose from the sand and made her way back to her car, her footsteps echoing in the quiet stillness of the early morning.
As she drove away from the beach, Rose couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that lingered within her. The ocean had offered no solace, no comfort, only a stark reminder of all that she had lost. And as tears welled in her eyes, she wondered if she would ever find peace
As she made her way back to her car, her eyes caught sight of a familiar face on a billboard announcement.
Becky Owens.
The mere mention of the journalist's name sent a surge of rage coursing through Rose's veins. Memories of the lies and deceit that had torn her world apart flooded her mind, fueling her determination to seek justice.
With trembling hands, Rose shifted gears and pressed down on the accelerator, her car speeding off into the night with reckless abandon. The tires screeched against the pavement, the sound echoing her own inner turmoil.
"I'm going to find you," Rose muttered through gritted teeth, her fangs gleaming in the darkness. The need for vengeance burned brightly within her, driving her forward with a single-minded purpose.
As she raced through the streets, her thoughts were consumed by visions of confronting Becky Owens and making her pay for the pain she had caused.
Apologies for the oversight. Here's the revised scene with all the dialogues included:

Rose parked discreetly near Becky's house, her eyes watching like a predator as she waited. Becky stepped out of the house with a jogging outfit, her earphones on, ready for her morning exercise.
Becky liked to listen to music while on her morning jogs. Rose followed her with her car from afar, watching Becky jog along a lonely road.
As Becky continued to jog, someone emerged from a corner and dragged her into an embrace. Becky chuckled and said, "You startled me, Josh."
The man, Josh, planted a kiss on her lips, which she reciprocated. Rose watched from afar, her eyesight far better than a human's.
"How did you get it from her?" Becky asked Josh, who had appeared out of nowhere.
"You know how dumb that asshole is. It was too easy," Josh replied, causing Becky to giggle slightly before pulling away from him.
"So...can I have it? I've got work soon and need to return home and prepared?" Becky inquired.
"I'll hand it to you. But remember my share. You have no idea how much other media houses would pay just to get a leak like this about Rose Shelly," Josh responded.
Rose's eyes immediately bulged out as she heard the name. She wanted to rush in, use her speed, and finish them off then and there.
But she restrained herself. She was curious. What did they have against her? She remained still, holding herself back from outrightly decapitating them in one fell swoop.
She wanted to see the end of it. The strings were beginning to appear. She was going to tie them to each other piece by piece.
As Becky and Josh conversed, Rose remained hidden, her eyes narrowed with intensity as she listened to their exchange. Every word they spoke felt like a dagger to her heart, each revelation driving home the depth of betrayal that lay at the heart of their conversation.
With a mixture of rage and curiosity burning within her, Rose watched as Josh handed Becky a small envelope, their voices hushed as they exchanged the illicit contents. It was clear that whatever they possessed was valuable, something they intended to exploit for their own gain.
As Becky tucked the envelope away, Rose felt a surge of anger course through her veins. How dare they conspire against her? How dare they seek to profit from her downfall?
But beneath the anger, there was a simmering sense of determination. Rose knew that she couldn't simply strike out blindly, not when there was still so much she didn't know. No, she needed to bide her time, to gather information and uncover the truth behind their motives.
Who did this Josh guy get his information from? What was their end game?
