Chapter 264
Chapter 264
264 Perfection Needs Sacrifice (4)
(Tom’s PoV)
The light’s in Siji’s eyes changed and I swallowed hard recognizing those glints in his clear eyes. Here comes the coach, I thought.
“Tom, I congratulate you again for finally realizing the thing that has been holding you down this whole time. You have finally advanced to the point where not many people could achieve easily. Perfection needs sacrifice. I’m sure you all know about it. To achieve the highest peak of bonding within the army, both of you must sacrifice that much. That’s why I had no comment about your relationship so far.” Siji looked back and forth between Jane and me.
Jane was bewildered. “What is it?”
“Jane, after he had finished his training, didn’t you notice any changes in your ability to control your power? It might be too small to be noticed, but once you follow what he did and clean yourself, you can get to a new level. Then, you can clearly notice how far the difference is. You two might want to talk about it.” Siji said, ignoring Jane’s confused expression. “Since the main problem lies with Tom, it shouldn’t be hard for you to adjust your self.”
“Of course, it’s better if Sanji involves himself in this matter as well.” Siji looked at Sanji with a thin smile on his face.
Sanji pointed his finger at himself in bewilderment. He looked as confused as Jane. The only one who knew about what Siji was talking about was me. I scratched my cheek while smiling awkwardly. I really had no idea how Sanji would react if I were to tell him to stop being intimate with Jane.
It was the sacrifice Siji was talking about. Not only we needed to stop, but also we didn’t even know until when should we do it. Judging from what I had learned before, we could only touch her after we were being recognized by law and universe as her official spouses.
However, it was highly impossible! Sure thing, Satu Hidden Village allowed women to marry more than one man, but I doubted Jane would want to stay there. She could only have one husband which meant that one of us would not be able to touch her at all from this time onwards. It was a difficult decision for either one of us.
.....
I shook my head as my thought was being led astray. This was not the time to worry about that. We had a severe matter at hands, I didn’t have time to worry who she would choose as her husband for now.
“I got it. I’ll talk to them later. I need to ask you about something else.” I waved my hand at the other two and fixed my gaze towards Siji. “What’s wrong with this house? It didn’t have these much of ghosts before. Also, there was a big barrier of light outside before, but now it disappeared. Do you have any explanation about it?”
However, the way Siji was looking at us as we were fools really made me surprised. Did we really miss something?
“You really need to improve your observation skill.” Siji sighed and he entered the second room where I slept after being ‘separated’ from Jane.
Feeling curious, we got up and followed him. Siji stopped walking at the bed side. Then, he looked at us while hinting at us to see under the bed.
Sanji and I crouched down and took a peek at the small gap between the bed and the floor. Our curiosity was answered as soon as we saw a soft glow under it.
“What is it?” Jane asked us.
“We see something.” I got up and dusted off my knees. “We need to move this bed away for a bit.”
“Are you seriously not feeling anything?” Siji stared at her in disbelief.
Jane blinked her eyes twice, not knowing what to respond. But, I saw her closing her eyes and her aura instantly changed. The similar light of the barrier expanded from her body until it disappeared behind the wall. When she opened her eyes, she changed into her other identity; Master of White Army. It only happened in a matter of seconds, but it was enough to answer my curiosity.
When did she learn to control it?
“What’s that?” She asked as she stared intently towards the bed. As expected, she didn’t need to remove the bed to see what’s under it.
“This thing has been here for a long time even before you came here. It is sleeping so the energy it lets out is considerably weak, but it was enough to attract some of negative entities to come. Its pure power is a feast to them. Just by staying near it can give them enough energy to reach a higher level. But, your arrival woke it up. It resonates with your energy because you both have the similar type of energy. I guess you couldn’t feel its presence because of how similar your energy is, but your General is too ignorant. It’s right under his ass but he didn’t realize it.” Siji shot me a disappointed look.
Fine, I was wrong. I had nothing to say to defend myself.
“Initially, your aura covered it. But, since you retracted your aura around the house, its aura leaked out and attracted them.” Siji stopped explaining while staring at us again.
“No wonder there were more of them than the first time we came.” Sanji nodded his head.
“You mean, the barrier of light that Tom said before was my aura?” Jane flipped her hands repeatedly, maybe trying to see this light barrier that we were talking about.
Of course, she couldn’t see it. “That... I am sure about it.” I answered in a split second.
“Are we still speaking the same language?” The confusion in her eyes were real. “Why do I feel like I understand what you’re talking about but at the same time I don’t?”
“You see, I don’t know how you managed to do it, but it seems like your consciousness is getting smarter. You thought that you didn’t do anything and you had no idea about the barrier Tom was talking about, but the truth is when Tom improves himself, you will be affected as well. Since he has managed to upgrade himself to a better person, of course you are being upgraded, too. As I said before, it might be small for you that it could go unnoticed. But, this much I can say. You can control your own aura. Be it strong and in full force, or weak, or even disappeared, it’s all in your hands. Once you activate it, you have a natural barrier around you that dispel any negative aura from outside. If you retract it, negative aura will be able to follow you around, not that they can affect you so much. If you want to master it, you’d better have a deep talk with your two boyfriends.” Siji pointed out at me and Sanji casually.
Such a thorough explanation, even when he said that he could only say that much. I could less or more guess the rest of his mini ‘lecture’. Jane gave no response as well, but it looked like she knew when to stop asking. Since Siji had decided to only tell her that much, there was no point in forcing him to explain more.
“So, what should we do with this thing?” Our attention snapped back to the strange object being buried under the bed.
“I think we should-” Sanji’s voice trailed off.
