Chapter 2: A Country Called Japan

Chapter 2: A Country Called Japan

Following the police officer, we come across a dead body with severe abdominal trauma. Kashiwagi, the lady doctor, puts on gloves to check the body.

"What does this mean...?"

Kashiwagi tilts her head and groans. I also checked the corpse along with her.

*What is this? *

I don't believe a human being would do something like this. Only the liver is missing.

I have seen many bodies in this state. The killer is not human. I don't think they would understand if I told them though.

"What do you think? It could be an organ collector, but they would have left the body alone if all they wanted were the organs. The wounds are too severe."

"Yes, it could be something like that. I'm sure we'll see more murders like this in the future."

The policeman snarls.

"This is troubling. These murders are really on the rise."

"I knew it..." When I said that, the lady doctor, Kashiwagi, called out to me.

"From the way you're speaking, you either know something or you have an idea what's going on."

The way she spoke to me was sarcastic.

"I understand that the killer is not a simple psychopath."

With that, I left the police to do the rest.

We returned to the clinic where we had just been.

"Hey, Doctor, it's your afternoon off. If you have no plans, why don't you take Marcus-san out for a tour of Tokyo?"

"I guess so."

Dr. Kashiwagi considered this. I had just witnessed a crime scene a few minutes ago.

"Well then, let's all go together!"

She's in a good mood.

"Yay! That's our Doctor!"

These people here are different.

"Marcus-san! Shall we?"

"Okay, then, I'll be in good hands. Marc is fine though. That's what my close friends call me, so you guys can call me that too."

"Then you can call me Yuki, too," says Kashiwagi, the lady doctor, and the other women begin to introduce themselves.

"I'm Satoko Nanase, the receptionist, and please call me Riko," the receptionist said eagerly.

"We are Manami Kushima and Mika Fujino, the nurses here."

"Please remember us as Mana and Mika,"

says the pair of nurses.  Mana has short hair, while Mika has her long hair in a bun. They are both cute, my kind of cute.

The Japanese look so young and pretty!

They haven't changed since the old days, I bet their blood is delicious too. No, let's not do that here.

While I was thinking this, the four girls took me out and showed me around Tokyo. There really were a lot of modern buildings. But there were also shrines and other places that reminded me of the olden days.

I'm sorry to these girls who seem to be having fun, but I'm in desperate need of blood right now.

Hm?

There's a department store. There'd probably be a lot of people there.

I'm sorry girls, but I'm going to have to ask you to stay here.

"I'm sorry, but I need to use the bathroom, so I'm going to go to that department store over there. Could you wait here for me?"

With that, I entered the department store. It was crowded because there was a bargain sale.

I pretend to stumble, grabbing onto a woman, and take the opportunity to sink my fangs into her neck. In this crowd, I was finally able to drink some blood.

Oh, it's been hours. It soaks into my body!

"Sorry." With a kiss on the cheek, she forgets about me. Satisfied, I return to the girls.

"Apologies. Where else are you taking me?"

I think they were discussing where to go next while I was gone.

"I'm thinking we should go to the Skytree next, so I hope you're okay with heights."

"I'll be fine. It's taller than the Eiffel Tower in France, right? I'm looking forward to it."

We took the elevator up to the Skytree, and from there we could see the city of Tokyo. It really has changed a lot.

The girls were excited about something. I'm certain it's also the first time they've been here.

"Wow! It's amazing! I've never been here before. It's always crowded and I didn't have anyone to go with me..."

Riko says, and the nurses smile.

"Well, actually, us too."

"I didn't realize that! Mana-san and Mika-san seem so popular, don't men often ask you out to places like this?"

The two of them replied, "We don't come because they would have asked us out."

They spoke in unison.

"A man who invites you to a place like this must have ulterior motives," Mana and Mika said.

"We are not so lucky with men. When we talked about our exes, we felt sorry for each other." They looked at each other and spoke in tandem again.

"I see."

"You had a surprisingly hard time."

Riko looked at them tenderly, while Yuki gazed happily at them all."
