My Virtual Girlfriend Is Actually a Lady From the Richest Family

Chapter 108: Mery's Younger Brother

Chapter 108: Mery's Younger Brother

After hearing firsthand the fact that there was no one else on the plane, the truck driver ended up freezing with a blank stare, causing him to fall behind David and Mery who kept going.

Even if he worked at this airport, this was the first time the truck driver had encountered something like this.

Didn't that mean the plane was being driven by that young man and woman, who should be the same age as his own son?

Not long after, David and Mery arrived at the airport terminal, which was guarded by many immigration officers.

Every foreigner who entered was scrutinized.

"Mery, I don't even have my passport with me, do we need to get past them with your shadow power?" David asked the woman walking beside him.

However, the woman shook her head.

"That's not necessary," she said.

As David was wondering what she wanted to do, she suddenly took out a stack of this country's money from her jacket pocket. They were red in color.

David showed a strange look when he saw her actions.

When they finally arrived in front of one of the immigration officers, Mery casually placed the stack of money in the immigration officer's hand, startling the latter so that his mouth opened.

"Don't delay us, we're busy," she said.

Hearing her words, the immigration officer's eyes suddenly shone brightly. He then nodded with a faint smile.

"Please, lady, sir," he said in fairly fluent English.

David and Mery were immediately allowed to leave without any inspection.

This level of corruption came as a surprise to David as it would not be encountered in Europe. The problem was that the immigration officer actually accepted the money with a happy face, without any pressure despite the fact that he had violated his oath of employment.

In fact, David saw other immigration officers watching the immigration officer accept the money, but they just smiled slightly, as if they were happy about it.

Surely later the immigration officer would share the money with others.

"This is how this country works," Mery said to David with a quiet laugh.

"Honestly, those who don't pay are usually given a hard time, and as long as we pay, our business is really made easy."

"Wouldn't it be easier if you used your shadow power?" asked David, not understanding why Mery would rather pay than use her own power.

"I just happened to want to share the money," she replied casually.

David could only remain silent at that.

Not long after, they arrived outside the terminal.

He had to admit that he was quite surprised when he arrived there.

There, he already saw the inequality of this country.

Quite a few poor-looking people were selling various snacks to people arriving at the airport.

They couldn't offer their wares to foreigners because they couldn't speak English, yet every local who came from another city was mobbed to the point where they had trouble walking. Some even forced them to buy their wares.

The problem was that it was so early in the morning, the sun hadn't even risen yet. David couldn't imagine how many people would come in the afternoon.

The density of people was enough to make David uncomfortable.

"I heard that many of the people here had up to ten children, which led to a significant increase in population, it seems to be true," he said.

"Yeah, and it's still happening in the lower classes. I've repeatedly thought about how to fix this country, but I guess only a true genius can think of it. We once had a genius president who fixed the country's economy in no time, but then propaganda made him fall from office." While talking about that, Mery seemed to not know whether she should laugh or cry.

David chose to stop talking about the country's problems.

"By the way, how are we going to go, are we going to take a taxi?" David asked Mery.

There were quite a few taxis outside this terminal. However, most of the drivers looked fierce.

They even cooperated with gangsters to find passengers.

"No need, my younger brother will come by car," Mery replied.

"Ohhh..." David showed a strange expression at her answer.

He then waited with Mery, sitting on a long chair provided.

David's eyes continued to look around, after all, this was like a new world to him, so there were quite a few things that made him curious.

'I'm not sure if the Pramono app can make this country better.' he wondered in his mind.

Not long after, a luxury MPV car stopped not far from them. It was a Mercedes.

"There it is!" Mery immediately stood up when she saw the car.

The driver got out of the car, then approached Mery with a happy smile.

He was a young man who was probably only 15 or 16 years old, looking too young. Not to mention the driver's license, he shouldn't have an ID card.

However, this did not make David feel surprised. Even he often drove without a license, nothing strange if it was considered normal in a developing country with unclear laws.

"Sister Mery, you're finally home," said the young man, seemingly getting more and more excited as he got closer to Mery.

He spoke in very fluent English, as if he was a native speaker.

When he arrived in front of Mery, he hugged her immediately.

For a woman who had even lived on the battlefield, living life and death, this kind of hug seemed a bit awkward to her.

"Stop this annoying thing, Victor," Mery said, pushing her younger brother slightly to get him to let go of her hug.

After that, she walked straight to Victor's car, followed by David as she waved her hand to him.

"Take us to a nice local restaurant," she said as she walked.

Perhaps Victor also already knew Mery's personality, so he followed behind, and ended up watching David curiously.

David and Mery entered the back door of the car while Victor returned to the driver's seat, which was on the right, unlike the car in Paris where the steering wheel was on the left.
