Chapter 242: Almost
Chapter 242: Almost
"Jane, who taught you to be so insolent to your senior?" Enzo didn't care about Jane's new status.
To him, Jane had no morals to dare threaten to kill him.
A young woman with no morals, Enzo had no desire but to teach her a lesson.
BANG!
Jane stood up and hit the table hard.
Her mini sword that was the symbol of the family appeared again.
It instantly floated in the air, emitting a suppressive and powerful aura.
"You!" Enzo was taken aback again as Jane responded in a harsh and direct manner.
His hands trembled with too much anger.
Shua!
Without everyone expecting it, the sword slid towards Enzo at its full speed so that Enzo's wide-open eyes became even wider.
With such a close distance, he didn't even have time to activate his powers.
The sword pierced his chest, but luckily he managed to activate his powers before it hit his heart.
Golden light radiated from his body, trying to push the sword out.
It worked, but only for a moment. When Jane's eyes became colder, the sword moved into his body again.
"Jane, stop that... Do you want to kill Enzo?" The other man shouted, asking Jane to stop.
Unfortunately, Jane seemed to have no intention of stopping at all.
"Hmph!"
Jane snorted and ignored their words.
She really didn't want to stop.
Crack!
The golden light of Enzo's body began to crack, no longer able to withstand the sword.
When it broke, there was no more chance for him to resist.
Whoosh!
The sword advanced again at high speed, even spinning like a drill.
Everyone held their breath, some closing their eyes as they continued to wonder if Jane was really going to kill Enzo.
This kind of conflict was not the first time in their family history.
It was just that, there had been no action as far as killing an important member of Enzo's class.
After all, his existence was quite important to this family due to his strength.
Usually, there was only bluffing, but Jane seemed to be serious. She really wanted to kill.
"Stop that, Jane!" Evan's voice suddenly echoed.
He wasn't just talking. Suddenly his figure appeared in front of Enzo with a small chain in his hand that moved quickly into the hole in Enzo's chest, binding Jane's sword.
His movements were surprisingly fast.
After that, he tried to pull the sword out.
Only, he wasn't really able to pull it, only able to hold it back from advancing further.
Enzo was now covered in sweat and didn't seem to expect Evan to come to his aid.
"Jane!" Evan couldn't help but call out to Jane, glaring at her as the woman didn't try to reduce the sword's power.
Unfortunately, even his gaze was ignored by Jane.
Having no other choice, he finally looked at David, as if asking him to stop Jane.
In response, David grabbed the woman's hand.
"Honey, stop that," he told her.
There were several reasons he needed to stop Jane.
First, it's not like she's the Jane he knows. It was like she was just following her murderous desires. It wasn't even a desire of the heart, let alone the mind.

Without a doubt, there was indeed something wrong with the woman.
Of course, it would be highly inappropriate if she killed Enzo who was still her immediate family by status. Her grandfather was supposed to be the sibling of Enzo's father.
For David, Enzo's death didn't matter at all, but not Jane the person who killed him.
It would have been fine if he had been the one to do that.
Fortunately, when he she was the one who asked her to stop, she actually softened even though she knitted her brows.
She sat down again while maintaining an indifferent expression then moved her index finger backwards.
The sword finally retreated from Enzo's chest and returned to her before disappearing.
Enzo was panting, not caring about the hollow wound on his chest, just staring at Jane constantly.
It seemed that he still couldn't believe what was happening.
When he had just felt a situation where death was very close, he could no longer think about pride, such as being angry at being bullied by a junior.
No, he was really intimidated. His courage to get angry had been lost because of how intimidated he was.
It's a bit embarrassing, but that's the truth.
Perhaps from another point of view, dying was still better because continuing to live in this situation would practically be a life of disgrace.
Unfortunately, he was already demoralized now so he couldn't scream to have Jane just kill him.
Meanwhile, Jane drank the cup of warm milk provided for her, closing her eyes as she drank so that onlookers were further made to feel that she was a domineering queen.
After finishing drinking and placing the cup on the table, she said, "off you all go, back to your respective homes!"
She waved her hand, as if she was signaling that she didn't want to see anyone for a while.
Ever since she showed such great dominance. Everyone immediately left like they were being chased by a wild beast. No one dared to disobey including her own uncle, Evan.
The man helped Enzo leave.
In no time, only David and Jane were left in the dining room.
David kept looking at her, feeling like he wanted to say something but not sure what he needed to say.
When Jane also looked at him and seemed to want to say something, there was the sound of soft footsteps.
Jane knitted her brows, looking to the entrance of the dining room only to find her mother walking casually over and sitting in the chair with the breakfast dishes still in front of her.
David rolled his eyes silently when he saw her, wondering what she wanted here. There was no way she had come just because she wanted breakfast.
Of course, if Jane had asked her, she would have said she hadn't had breakfast and had come for breakfast.
After sitting down, she started eating.
Only, she was staring at them.
"The daughter of an Evelyn is indeed extraordinary. Yeah, I knew you were ambitious, but I didn't expect you to get what you wanted so early. I'm sure it's not just luck. You must have come across an opportunity that was full of risks but you managed to take it, am I right?
Considering that you like to take the risky route to begin with, it's not surprising to me." She said in a tone like she was adding a bit of laughter to her words.
