Chapter 77: A Bus
Chapter 77: A Bus
It was a concept that seemed foreign to him because so far there was only social media for sharing photos.
Video-sharing social media does exist, but it is only for long videos.
The concept of social media created by Pramono is similar to social media for sharing photos, except that it is specialized only for sharing short videos.
"Now people find it easier to make videos," said Pramono. "Plus that the internet is faster and cheaper, videos are becoming more favored. An app that shows video after video as it scrolls down is definitely preferable to just looking at photos that have no sound and no movement."
Hearing Pramono's explanation while seeing how the app worked only made David more interested. He had to admit that it was a very good concept.
"I think it's really good," Owen said suddenly. "It's just that, a business like this is very risky because it's not certain that we can make this app popular even if we use a lot of money to promote it."
"It will definitely become popular, boss!" Pramono apparently insisted on his opinion.
"If you miss out on this investment, it means you'll lose hundreds of billions of dollars in the future," he added.
Luna rolled her eyes at that, feeling that Pramono was making things up.
Owen, on the other hand, was silent. He seemed to feel that there was such a possibility.
Seeing Owen's silence, Pramono finally focused more on David.
"Can you really help me find funds?" he asked him.
"Don't hesitate, you won't be short of money if David helps you." Owen answered for David.
Hearing that, Pramono's eyes shone brightly. This meant that David could really be an investor for his application.
"How about coming with me to the University of Paris?" David said as he stood up.
He had finished breakfast, so it was time for him to go.
The breakfast had also been paid for by Owen, so he didn't have to do anything else.
Pramono immediately nodded at David's invitation.

"Sure, I'll follow you wherever it is," he replied.
David waved his hand to him as he took a step.
After the two left, Luna asked Owen, "is it really possible for the app to be a success?"
"Nothing is impossible," Owen replied.
"But you know, that guy is from Southeast Asia, really from Southeast Asia, not from Singapore which is unique among Southeast Asian countries," Luna said, still skeptical. She was clearly skeptical of people in her own country.
"Smart people can come from anywhere, regardless of what Pramono looks like, he's really good at IT." Owen explained and held Luna's hand.
"Look, you're from Southeast Asia yourself but you're so beautiful that you can mesmerize me. Of course, there are others from the region with different talents," Owen added in a teasing tone.
That instantly made Luna blush.
After which, she suddenly knitted her brows. "If you're optimistic enough, wouldn't it be a pity if you didn't invest in the app?" she asked.
"Indeed, but I'm not a person with unlimited money, I can't spend it as I please," Owen replied. "Plus, I already have a five percent stake in the project because I gave Pramono a little money to pay some of the programmers who helped him.
Maybe my stake will be drastically reduced when David makes a big investment, but it doesn't matter, if the company is really successful like the big social media, I'll still get a few billion euros."
"..."
Pramono followed in David's car, sitting beside him with a curious face as he observed the car's exterior.
As the car pulled into the street, he asked, "bro, do you have an investment company or something?"
He seemed intent on familiarizing himself with David, but his manner was more direct than Owen's.
"No!" David shook his head, answering briefly.
"Does that mean your family will invest? They're not conservative and skeptical of startups, right?" The man asked again when he discovered that it wasn't David.
"Not my family, my family is not rich. Don't keep asking, you'll find out later," David replied.
He deliberately asked the man to stop asking because from his expression, he looked like he was going to keep coming up with new questions. David didn't want to be distracted in that regard.
Pramono's mouth opened, realizing that David would get annoyed if he kept being asked. He finally chose silence, and stared at his laptop.
Coincidentally, at this moment there was a bus right next to David's car. It was a big bus with two floors. David initially thought the bus wanted to get ahead of his car because it kept honking its horn, but it turned out to be matching his speed.
David was a bit confused so he rolled down his window.
He tried to look up to see the window of the bus, which he couldn't see from inside his car because the bus was too tall.
What he saw immediately surprised him.
Inside the bus, he saw young men wearing white robes with large cross necklaces around their necks. Each of them was even holding a stick with a cross on the end.
They were all staring at David's car.
David had speculated that he would be visited by two or three people like when the police come to someone's house, but one bus, David wondered if there was something wrong with the church management that was handling his case.
However, this was on a busy highway, so David couldn't guess what they would do to him.
"Wait!" Suddenly David saw a faint light from inside the bus, moving toward his car. In an instant, the light enveloped his car.
It didn't seem to be visible to ordinary people because Pramono still reacted calmly, only looking curious about the bus.
After the light enveloped his car, David found that the car was no longer under his control, it was now moving on its own.
When there was a corner, it moved to that corner.
"Umm, isn't the University of Paris up ahead?" Pramono instantly became astonished as David's car turned the corner.
Of course, David wasn't planning on explaining anything to him.
Strangely something happened to the man, the symbol of a cross appeared on his forehead. His eyes then slowly closed.
"Shit!" David cursed.
When he took out his cell phone to send a message to Jane, he found that his cell phone signal had disappeared.
