The scowl on Ning Ran's face puzzled Qiao Zhan.

Even though he was a close aide of Nan Chen, the latter hadn't informed him of why he went to see Rong Yi.

Qiao Zhan's main responsibility was security and dealing with sensitive matters of the Nan family that couldn't be revealed to the public.

However, he was never involved in making decisions for the company, as that wasn't his forte.

As a result, he was clueless about what Nan Chen and Rong Yi had discussed and hadn't bothered to ask.

If he were to inquire about every important person Nan Chen met, it would simply irritate both his employer and himself.

Moreover, the most important characteristic of a close aide was to know where to draw the line with regard to their employer's privacy.

Now that Ning Ran was forcing him to take her to the music academy, he was equally apprehensive about asking about the reason due to its inappropriateness.

What happened between Rong Yi, Nan Chen, and Ning Ran? Why is Ning Ran so angry? Qiao Zhan just couldn't figure it out and simply did as he was told.

Meanwhile, Ning Ran had no time to go into details with Qiao Zhan. In her mind, she was rehearsing what she was going to say to that so-called good-looking person.

Should I just start by slapping her? But violence would only make me look uncivilized. I should be exuding an air that shows that she would never succeed in displacing me. Then again, speaking to her cordially would be showing her too much respect! A vixen like her doesn't deserve any of it.

Ning Ran consequently fell into a dilemma on whether she should take a harsh stance.

“How long have they been together?” she asked Qiao Zhan, who was driving.

“Huh?”

Qiao Zhan was baffled by the question. Who is she talking about?

“Drop that innocent act. Others might not know much about Nan Chen's affairs, but you're certainly not one of them. Anyway, why are you still covering for him when he himself has admitted to it?” Ning Ran snapped.

By then, Qiao Zhan was more confused than ever. What did Sir Chen admit to?

“I'm asking you a question! How long has he been together with that woman?” Ning Ran raised her voice.

Woman? Qiao Zhan racked his brains.

Sir Chen didn't meet any woman today. Wasn't Ouyang Li the only one to show up?

“I have no idea! She only appeared for a short while today. Sir Chen didn't step out of the car. He simply ignored her while she was ranting outside,” Qiao Zhan replied.

At that moment, it was Ning Ran's turn to become confused.

Were they on a date? One was sitting in the car while the other kicked up a fuss outside? Is that all?

“Do you know what her name is?” Ning Ran asked again.

“I do. You know her too. It was Ouyang Li!” Qiao Zhan answered.

Ning Ran suddenly felt as if she had been struck by lightning. What? Ouyang Li? Nan Chen is having an affair with that ordinary-looking girl? How is this possible? There's no way this is true! That would mean that he's desperate, but he clearly isn't. There are plenty of gorgeous women circling him like vultures. Luo Zhiyi would be one good example.

Ning Ran wouldn't have been so outraged if Nan Chen had gotten together with Luo Zhiyi, for the latter was undeniably stunning.

So why did he choose Ouyang Li? Has his taste changed? Is he trying to disgust me on purpose?

“Are you sure the woman was Ouyang Li?” Ning Ran was filled with skepticism.

Qiao Zhan nodded. “I'm certain of it. I wasn't the only one to see her. A few other bodyguards were at that parking lot too.”

Upon hearing that, Ning Ran realized that it made no sense.

Even if Nan Chen's preferences have changed, the probability of him getting together with Ouyang Li is minuscule. Why would he choose Ouyang Li over the beautiful Ouyang Qing? Fine, even if I assume he wants to try dating an ugly girl, he would never do so publicly in an underground parking lot. Nan Chen is a proud man. As the face of Nanshi Corporation, he would never allow his personal behavior to ruin the company's reputation.

“Qiao Zhan, could there be some sort of misunderstanding?” Ning Ran asked.

Qiao Zhan nodded at once. “I agree. That must be the case! When we emerged from the music academy, Ouyang Li tailed us in her car until we arrived at the parking lot. Even then, Sir Chen paid no

heed to her. All she did was rant at him while standing outside the car window. I wanted to call the police and have her arrested, but Sir Chen told me to let it slide. Throughout the entire episode, she was the one kicking up a fuss. Sir Chen didn't say anything at all.”

At that moment, Ning Ran immediately knew that Ouyang Li wasn't the person at the music academy.

That pretty face is someone other than Ouyang Li!

Her worries were eased when she thought it was a misunderstanding a moment ago.

Upon realizing that it wasn't, though, she figured that there really must be a pretty female student.

The epiphany caused her face to darken, which Qiao Zhan quickly noticed.

Why is Ms. Ning upset again? Was it something I said?

Soon, Qiao Zhan stopped the car in front of the music academy and turned to look at Ning Ran.

She asked him, “Which faculty was it? What is that person's phone number?”

Qiao Zhan shook his head. “I have no idea. I just saw them walk into the teachers' quarters.”

A female student living in the teachers' quarters? Is she someone with connections?

“Are you feigning ignorance?” Ning Ran barked. “You must be trying to cover for him, aren't you?”

Qiao Zhan gave her an aggrieved look. “I'm not. I have always seen you as my sister, a member of my own family!”

“I treat you as family too, but why do you refuse to give me that person's contact? I'm sure you must have contacted that person on Nan Chen's behalf before!”

Qiao Zhan was stunned when Ning Ran screamed at him.

“Sir Chen really did contact the other party by himself. I truly don't know anything.”

The fuming Ning Ran subsequently opened the door and alighted.

Thereafter, she stormed toward the teachers' quarters. Even then, she still had no idea how she was going to find the girl, but in her anger, she had forgotten to put on her mask and sunglasses.

Coincidentally, a group of students were walking toward her from the opposite direction.

It only took a few seconds for a male student among them to remember and call out the name of the character Ning Ran played in her movie.

After letting out a few gasps, the group quickly surrounded her.

“Ms. Mi, why are you here?”

“We love you, Ding Mi! I saw you at the mall some time ago too.”

A female die-hard fan began to cry.

Ning Ran was someone who couldn't bear to see her fans cry, as it would inexplicably fill her with a sense of guilt. She also didn't know how she should comfort them.

“Your school is a beautiful place. I was passing by and wanted to admire it,” Ning Ran responded in a cursory manner.

“Ding Mi, I'm your biggest fan. Can I get your autograph please?”

“Ding Mi, can I get a picture with you?”

Despite being famous now, Ning Ran didn't put on any airs at all.

She proceeded to fulfill all her fans' requests one by one.

Unfortunately for her, news of her arrival spread like wildfire through the campus.

Given that there were a lot of people studying there, hordes of students began to swarm out of the building to surround Ning Ran.

By the time she wanted to leave, she was unable to do so after being sandwiched by hundreds of people.
