Chapter 247
Chapter 247
Actually, Ji Qingqing had a pretty good understanding of those programs with scripted lines and storyline. After all, a program can’t be overly controlled. Similarly, there was no storyline for the entire duration of their own program. Everything relied on the guests to act freely and improvise. If the couple were both actors, it was still fine as they knew their boundaries and what the audience liked to see. They would also do their best to take things into consideration for the production crew.
However, take Lu Lixing for an example. He wasn’t a celebrity, didn’t understand what the audience liked, wouldn’t cater to the audience, and even more, wouldn’t take into account filming crew needs; when the live streaming was going on, he even took the car keys and brought Ji Qingqing out for a ride.
Cars were one of the few hobbies Lu Lixing had. Before Ji Qingqing entered the Lu residence, there was a wall filled with car models. After she stayed at the Lu residence, that particular wall was tidied up by Aunt Pei and shifted to the study room.
The surrounding area was empty. Apart from a single resort hotel, you could say that it was deserted. There was a straight coastline which stretched out and even after half an hour, not many cars were seen. Hence, this place also became the best spot for drag racing.
In the convertible sports car, Ji Qingqing had her seat belt fastened on. Her hair got blown directly by the oncoming sea breeze, causing it to billow out in the wind. In the rear view mirror, a couple of filming crew cars had followed.
Alas, the production crew cars were not on the same level as the sports car Lu Lixing drove, so they fell behind by a good distance. Lu Lixing glanced at the rearview mirror and lightly stepped on the accelerator, resulting in the cameras being unable to capture the two of them.
The crew met with a faceful of exhaust fumes from the sports car. They had no choice but to stop and call Director Wang.
After Director Wang understood the situation, he gave Ji Qingqing a call but no one answered. So he could only give in and compromise and let the production crew return back first.
Other than that, what else could he do?
This was an ancestor who couldn’t be provoked.
Lu Lixing drove at a relatively safe speed on the coastline. Regardless of how suitable the place was for drag racing, there was someone sitting on the front passenger seat. No matter how tempted he was, he would never rashly step on the accelerator.
Even though it was at a safe driving speed, Ji Qingqing had never experienced such a crazy time. At her left was the surging sea and the wind which filled her nose with the scent of the salty and damp sea breeze. One could raise their hands and shout out freely. There was absolutely no need to worry whether the surroundings would have weird stares directed at you.
Lu Lixing looked at Ji Qingqing who was shouting beside him and his lips curved into a gentle smile.
They drove for about half an hour and eventually stopped at a bay.
The bay had a number of rock formations and it looked to be about 7 to 8 metres tall. It was also not a scenic location. The rocks were unmaintained and were filled with hollows which did not look nice.
“So exhilarating!” Ji Qingqing’s eyes were filled with joy as she looked at Lu Lixing. “I have never gone racing before. Hubby, just now you were really amazing!”
Lu Lixing laughed. “This sort of speed counts as racing? If I really took you racing, wouldn’t you be frightened to tears?”
The 2 p.m. sun was a little hot, so the both of them headed to search for a shaded spot at the rock formation.
“Like how they crazily race on the television?”
Lu Lixing nodded.
Ji Qingqing looked at him, unconvinced. “You’ve done it before?”
From how he looked, Lu Lixing didn’t seem like those daredevils to her.
Lu Lixing looked towards the sea. Then a second later, he En-ed.
“But Grandpa doesn’t allow it.”
Such a dangerous hobby, no parent would agree to it.
“Actually Grandpa did it for your own good. Car racing is such a dangerous activity…”
“I know,” Lu Lixing’s tone was calm. “I did it before, and although it seemed terrifying, it wasn’t dangerous and no accidents occurred. However, after Grandpa heard of this, he prohibited me from driving cars for 5 years.”
Saying that, Lu Lixing laughed in self mockery. “That time I was young, ignorant and impulsive. I argued with him because of that matter. In hindsight, it was still too reckless. Grandpa actually was also doing it for my own good.”
