Chapter 316 Keomi
Suppressing her laugh, Shiro landed back on the auction house roof and watched as the owner apologised profusely at the faction members.
’See how fair I am? I don’t leave anyone out.’ Shiro grinned as Nimue sighed.
{Yeah very fair. Why don’t you rob the princes as well, now that you robbed the factions?} Nimue rolled her eyes.
’Actually...’
{Don’t even say it.} Nimue cut in.
’Why not? It’s quite viable you know?’ Shiro smiled.
{Well yes, I agree but like, you shouldn’t push them over the edge too hard you know? Who knows what they might do?}
’We’re nearing the phase where we can go for a fight now. Tipping them over the edge would actually help.’ Shiro replied while looking down at the frantic faction members. They were splitting up and searching everything within a 500-meter radius of the auction house in an attempt to find the culprit.
Shaking her head, she looked down at the item she stole from the God’s Pantheon.
[Sealing Incantation – Purple+]
Designate 1 target and seal their mana for 5 minutes.
Uses 1/3
Cooldown: 1 day.
’Aiya~ This one’s pretty good eh? If they used it on me, it would be quite a dangerous situation wouldn’t it?’ Shiro raised an eyebrow. She could imagine that while they’re in a team fight, the enemy could just seal up her mana and disable her for 5 minutes.
As she is the biggest damage dealer and the only one that can fight against a level 100 on even grounds, it would mean big trouble for them.
’See? It seems like my decision is helping us.’ She smiled.
{Lucky you. But luck won’t last forever you know?}
’I know. Why else do you think I’m robbing them? If I had left it to luck, I would have died long ago.’ Shiro replied with a shake of her head.
Standing up, she was about to leave but narrowed her eyes when she saw a flaming figure flying in from the distance.
"THEIF! HAND ME BACK MY KEY!" A woman’s voice shouted out in anger.
’Oh sh*t, it’s that branch master.’ Shiro thought in surprise.
Quickly dashing into the rift, she turned around and started to run away.
However, to her shock and surprise, a pair of hands appeared in the rift and tore it open.
"Holy f*ck!"
"You can’t run from me b*tch!" The branch master glared at her in anger.
[Keomi – Fighting Paragon LVL 129]
Keomi had long black hair that was tied into a ponytail. She wore a white jacket that was attached with a simple clip, a white shirt along with a black skirt. Under that skirt, she wore a pair of black tights and some boots.
Narrowing her eyes, Shiro made sure that her disguise was still intact.
"To think that the branch master of the Rising Sun can rip open a path into the rift. How admirable." She said with a smile.
Quickly jumping out of the rift, she dodged Keomi’s grab.
"Ripping open a path is an easy task as long as I target you. Now hand me my key before I kick your ass into the next generation." Keomi replied while raising up her foot. Slamming it down, she instantly caused a tornado to appear as Shiro used this chance to propel herself further away.
Keomi held back a little since she couldn’t cause too much damage in the capital. Otherwise, even if she had the first prince helping her, it would still cause quite the annoyance in terms of doc.u.ments that she had to fill out.
’I can’t go anywhere that would isolate me since it would allow Keomi to go at full power. Even if I can fight against a level 100, a level 129 is still a huge problem.’ Shiro thought with a frown.
Even now, Keomi was on the verge of catching her.
If not for her fast reactions, the Sword Domain to help her understand the zone around her and the Rift Walker skill to help separate them for a short moment, she would have been caught already.
"Damn it! Slippery little sh*t!" Keomi cursed.
Seeing as how her opponent was only level 65, it should be an easy task for her to catch her.
’She must be using disguise skill. Could her level be 100?’ She thought warily.
Activating one of her aura skills just before she reached Shiro, she managed to increase her speed instantly and grab hold onto her.
"Yes!" She grinned.
However, Shiro quickly activated faded snow movement so that Keomi’s hand would phase through her body.
"No!" Keomi gritted her teeth.
’Seems like I need to disable her quickly.’ Shiro thought with a frown. Since Keomi could easily catch up to her and even invade the rift, of which she suspects to be a skill that helps Keomi track her down, she needed to make it so that she couldn’t follow.
Using the Sealing Incantation was a no go since she didn’t need to fight Keomi to the death so it would only be a waste.
Shiro needed Keomi to live so that she could keep the God’s Pantheon at bay.
Looking at her skills, she needed to use an element that she wasn’t known to use a lot.
The first thing that came to her mind was the Light element. After all, she had barely used it except for that one time in Cairosa.
Using Element Shift to make her base element light, she took a deep breath and focused on using her burst of speed to counter Keomi’s hits.
*BANG BANG BANG BANG!
Each of her counters would cause a small shockwave to appear in the air.
Keomi was quite surprised at how Shiro was able to deflect her attacks. Even if she was holding back to avoid collateral damage, it was still impressive for someone much lower level than her to keep up with her like this.
’Did she use a berserk skill? No, I didn’t see any indications for something like that.’ Keomi thought to herself.
Furrowing her brows, she decided to increase her power. While it may cause severe collateral damage to the buildings, it was worth it as long as she could get her key back. After all, the key would help improve all of her skills and condense them down.
A problem with adventurers was that they would gain so many skills that it would become a burden to keep track of everything. There were times that they would even forget that they had such a skill. Keomi was no exception. As a Fighting Paragon, an A+ ranked class, her skills were numerous.
Therefore, if she was able to condense some of the skills that she rarely used with the ones that she uses often, she could maximise her potential as the branch master and help out the faction more.
It was also supposed to help her catch up to her sister easier. Now that Shiro had stolen the key that would help her achieve all of this, her anger was understandable.
"Listen to me woman, we can both see that this will eventually result in your loss. If you hand over the key, I can guarantee that I’ll let you go. You can steal anything from God’s Pantheon for all I care but you better keep your hands off my items." Keomi warned.
"Hou~ And what if I said I used the key already?" Shiro replied with a raised eyebrow.
While her face may seem relaxed, she was actually under quite a lot of pressure.
Every hit she deflected would send a shock through her body as she used Phantom Path to redirect the force. If she didn’t do this, her arms would definitely be on the verge of breaking if not already broken.
’Tch, fighting a level 129 is no easy task even when they’re holding themselves back.’ Shiro thought to herself. She didn’t use her Analysis skill to see the muscle movements since she wasn’t used to it yet. Activating it would only hinder her.
"Since you’ve already used it, there’s no point in me holding back." Keomi frowned.
Pulling back her arm, she made a claw with her hand and forced everything within a 10-meter radius to be drawn towards her.
Widening her eyes, Shiro pivoted on her foot and sent a kick towards Keomi’s head.
At the same time, she also activated her Fae Illusions so that she could escape.
Unfortunately for her, Keomi wasn’t tricked as she stomped down and forced the roof tiles to slam into her body.
’F*ck it. If I don’t use my ice now, I’ll only be decreasing my chances of escape.’ Shiro thought with a frown.
"Fuu.... I’ll end up having a little fun for today." After saying this, she slammed her foot down and froze everything around her.
*KRRRR!!!!
Ice enveloped Keomi’s body as she was shocked that the ice could even affect her.
However, Shiro wasn’t done. Making two tier 3 magic circles, she summoned several chains and had them reinforce Keomi’s ice prison.
Once she was done, Shiro quickly jumped into the void and ran away.
’She must be at least level 100! Otherwise, the ice could never hold me back.’ Keomi thought. By the time she had finally shattered the ice prison, there was no point in trying to find Shiro since she was long gone.
"Tch... I need to ask Yuki for tips against Ice Mages. That woman seemed quite proficient with Ice." Keomi muttered before walking away frustrated.
