Chapter 191: Takuya Can Kiss You, But I Can’t?

?

"Build your foundation and hone your combat awareness. The stronger your foundation is, the smoother your future path will be," Takuya advised.

"Yes, sir..." Aida Sui's response was less than enthusiastic.

It wasn't the answer he was hoping for.

What he wanted was some solid advice from Takuya-something that could help him quickly improve his strength.

But Takuya had no intention of feeding him any shortcuts.

Though he wasn't too enthusiastic about training students, Takuya wasn't going to let Aida Sui sabotage his own growth by rushing the process.

He'd offer advice, but if the person didn't want to listen...

If Aida Sui continued thinking that learning more ninjutsu would make him stronger overnight, then there wasn't much Takuya could do.

Some lessons you can't teach you have to let people learn them the hard way. Aida Sui was clearly in that phase.

Even with guidance from Takuya, his insecurities still hadn't gone away. He was still fixated on quickly improving his strength and earning the approval of his teammates.

Watching Aida Sui's slouched form as he walked away, Takuya shook his head.

He wasn't too concerned. He had given the necessary advice; whether Aida Sui accepted it was up to him.

"Hiding in the shadows and eavesdropping on someone's conversation is rude, you know," Takuya said, his eyes shifting to the dark corner of the street.

Hyuga Suzune, who had been standing in the shadows, flinched before slowly stepping into the light.

"Captain, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to listen, I just..." Suzune stammered, clearly flustered. Takuya was surprised to see this side of Suzune-the girl who always seemed cold and unapproachable, her expression forever stuck in "don't bother me" mode.

In any other family, it wouldn't have been a big deal. But for someone from the strict and formal Hyuga clan, eavesdropping was a serious offense. It would bring shame to the family.

Walking up to her, Takuya noticed her cheeks were slightly red as he tilted his head and asked, "The Hyuga clan's compound isn't this way, is it?"

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to," Suzune hurriedly apologized, bowing so deeply her head nearly touched her chest.

No wonder so many people said the Uchiha clan was full of crazies, and the Hyuga clan was full of lunatics.

With the suffocating rules and harsh family traditions they lived under, it was a wonder any of them stayed sane.

If Takuya had been born into the Hyuga clan, he would've gone mad.

The Uchiha might have been wild and impulsive, but at least they didn't have so many ridiculous rules stifling their members.

The Hyuga clan, on the other hand, was the perfect example of being strict with their own while being weak against outsiders-especially the high-and-mighty main family.

"I'm just messing with you. I'm not mad. Now, go home and wash up. You probably hate smelling like this," Takuya said, patting Suzune on the head as a sign of reassurance. But the moment his hand touched her head, Suzune's flushed cheeks turned beet red.

The blush quickly spread to her ears, and her body went stiff as a board, as if she had been hit with a paralysis jutsu.

"???"

What just happened?

Was I not supposed to touch her head?

I just patted her. Was it really that big of a deal?

Seeing Suzune's red face, the steam practically rising from her, and the way she nervously clutched her pants, Takuya was dumbfounded.

Sure, guys and girls had their boundaries, but Takuya had only patted her head as her captain. There was no ulterior motive.

Who would've thought Suzune would react like this, as if he had touched some forbidden spot?

Emmm...

Did I mess up?

Making a girl blush like that... this feels off.

Just as Takuya was about to explain himself, Suzune turned on her heel and bolted toward her home.

"Hey! I didn't mean anything by it!" Takuya called after her.

But the more he called, the faster Suzune ran, as if something terrifying was chasing her.

After a moment, Takuya lowered his hand.

"That was weird."

Shaking his head, he shrugged it off.

"Guess I'll go find Kushina," he muttered, heading toward her place.

Ever since the Nine-Tails incident, where the fox had made a complete fool of itself, Kushina had been avoiding Takuya, hiding like an ostrich.

"Girl, what's wrong with you lately?" Tsunade slurred, her arm slung around Kushina's shoulders, her breath reeking of alcohol. "You've been talking to yourself all the time, and you haven't visited Takuya recently. You used to practically live at his place, and now you don't even stop by."

"It's nothing, I've just been busy," Kushina said with a forced smile, trying to push Tsunade's boozy breath away.

"Phew, you stink like a bar!" Kushina complained, waving her hand in front of her face.

"Oh, now you're complaining?" Tsunade blew her breath in Kushina's direction again, sniffing herself. "I don't smell a thing! You must be imagining it. Come on, take a whiff!" "No way! Get away from me!" Kushina pushed Tsunade's face away again. "You smell awful." "Hahaha, you think you can escape from me?" Tsunade cackled like a mischievous uncle, pulling Kushina into a tight hug and pushing her face close to hers, puckering her lips in mock

affection.

At that moment, Takuya arrived at Kushina's place, only to hear the sound of playful scuffling inside. Without thinking, he pushed the door open and stepped inside.

"Uh..."

What he saw was Tsunade practically kissing Kushina, with Kushina desperately trying to

push her away.

Seeing Takuya standing in the doorway, Kushina froze, her face going blank.

Before she could react, Tsunade kissed her on the cheek.

What... just happened?

Blinking in confusion, Takuya raised his hand. "Should I give you two a moment?"

As Kushina's stunned expression slowly turned crimson, veins popped out on her forehead.

"Tsunade! That's not fair!" Kushina shouted.

Did she really just kiss me?!

It wasn't that big of a deal-after all, they were as close as sisters, and Tsunade was clearly drunk. But the problem was that Takuya had just walked in and seen the whole thing.

Kushina was mortified.

In a burst of anger, Kushina shoved Tsunade with all her strength, sending the drunken woman flying out the window.

Takuya stared at the large hole in the window, watching as Tsunade landed face-first in the

yard.

Man, women with super strength are something else.

That shove was enough to send someone flying.

"Kushina... Tsunade's drunk," Takuya said, his voice filled with sympathy.

"I know!" Kushina shouted in frustration, rubbing her temples. "We need to go get her before

she causes more trouble. And then we should probably get someone to fix the window..."

Takuya just nodded.

"Ungrateful brat!" Tsunade grumbled, stumbling to her feet, still wobbly from the booze. "I've been taking care of you, keeping you company, comforting you... and this is how you

repay me?"

Tsunade, who was used to dishing out super-powered punches, finally knew what it felt like to be on the receiving end.

She never imagined Kushina would use so much force to push her away.

Kushina, her face still red with embarrassment, helped Tsunade up, muttering softly, "I

didn't mean to push that hard. But you kissed me..."

"What? That brat Takuya can kiss you, but I can't?" Tsunade snapped, her drunken temper

flaring.

Kushina bit her tongue to keep from tossing Tsunade out the window again, her face shifting

from red to black with anger.
