However, unlike his previous endeavour, where he had used his spiritual power to inscribe the Primordial Rune of Sealing, this time, his goal was to engrave the second Primordial Rune he had acquired—the Primordial Rune of Absorption!

The Primordial Rune of Absorption has an extraordinary power, capable of absorbing everything and converting it into beneficial energy for its user.

Evan's plan was to engrave this rune directly onto his Primordial Monarch Core, granting it the ability to continuously absorb World Essence from the surroundings, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

With the powerful absorption abilities of the Primordial Rune of Absorption, his core would be able to draw in World Essence at a terrifying speed, allowing him to increase the rank of his core with unparalleled efficiency.

However, simply increasing his absorption speed was not the primary reason for Evan's excitement.

While absorbing World Essence was an essential requirement for advancing in rank, it was only one part of the process. For instance, to advance from a Rank Two Core Evolver to Rank Three, a Core Evolver needed to understand their conceptual energy to 75% and use that understanding to create their own Illusionary World.

The same applied to Rank Three Core Evolvers aspiring to reach Rank Four. They would need to achieve complete comprehension of their conceptual energy—100 percent and then condense their Law Seal.

Once Evan engraved the Primordial Rune of Absorption onto his core, it would allow him to ascend from mid-level Rank Three to the peak of Rank Three at an astonishing speed. However, advancing to Rank Four would still require additional steps beyond simply absorbing World Essence.

Evan, however, was not worried about this limitation. He had already devised a unique and unconventional method to utilize the Primordial Rune of Absorption, one that no one else had ever attempted.

Though this method was very dangerous—potentially life-threatening—the reward once it succeeded would be very rich.

Evan had divided the use of the Primordial Rune of Absorption into two distinct parts. The first step was to engrave the rune onto his Primordial Core. Once this was completed, he could move on to the second part, which was the most dangerous phase of his plan and could even cost him his life.

'Let's finish the simple part first,' Evan thought, directing all his senses toward his slowly spinning Primordial Monarch Core.

Compared to the Primordial Rune of Sealing, which required 506 intricate patterns to complete, the Primordial Rune of Absorption was relatively simpler, requiring only 336 patterns. However, despite being simpler, it was still beyond Evan's current abilities to engrave the rune in its entirety.

During his time in the Azragoth World, he had only managed to engrave seven patterns of the Rune of Sealing on Velgoth before his spiritual energy was completely depleted.

While his current spiritual power was far stronger—thanks to the enhancements he had achieved in the Blood Dungeon through the Bloodline Inheritance Steps—he was still uncertain about how much of the Rune of Absorption he could engrave in one attempt.

Summoning his spiritual power, Evan began engraving the first pattern of the Rune onto his core.

The moment the initial pattern was completed, a powerful suction force erupted from his core, drawing the surrounding World Essence toward it, condensing a whirlpool of the World Essence around Evan.

The suction was so intense that his core was soon enveloped by a dense layer of World Essence, making it increasingly difficult for him to continue engraving additional patterns.

Reacting quickly, Evan deactivated the first pattern using his spiritual connection with it, calming down the world essence that surrounded his core.

Once the first pattern was deactivated, Evan didn't pause. He immediately proceeded to inscribe the second pattern. Just like the first, he kept it in a dormant state, ensuring he could continue the process without interruptions.

Despite the challenges of engraving on a constantly rotating core, Evan successfully completed the first 25 patterns in just ten minutes, encountering no significant issues.

Even after engraving 25 patterns, he didn't feel much strain on his spiritual energy. Confident, he decided to continue further.

'The benefits of refining my spiritual power in the Blood Dungeon and comprehending a portion of the conceptual energy of the soul are immense,' Evan thought with satisfaction as he began inscribing the 26th pattern.

However, with each additional stroke, the strain on his spiritual energy gradually increased. By the time he reached the 37th pattern, he finally began to feel significant pressure on his spirit.

Anastasia, who had been standing silently nearby maintained a serious expression throughout the process. She was ready to intervene at the slightest sign of danger.

Although Evan had assured her that engraving a Primordial Rune onto his core was not dangerous, she understood the risks far better.

If the Rune's absorption power became too strong, the consequences could be catastrophic. Not only could Evan's core potentially explode from absorbing an overwhelming amount of World Essence, but the Rune could also begin absorbing Evan's core itself and even Evan himself—leading to his immediate death.

Thankfully, none of these worst-case scenarios occurred. After approximately half an hour, Evan's sprint reached his limit, and he successfully completed the engraving of 42 patterns, concluding the first phase of his plan.

While this was only the initial step, and the second part of the process was necessary to unlock the full potential of the Primordial Rune of Absorption, Evan was more than satisfied with the results so far.

'Now that part of the Primordial Rune of Absorption is engraved on my core, it is time to move on to the second part,' Evan thought to himself and opened his eyes.
