Chapter 2066 – Start With Feilu

Whoosh!

White flames ignited in the middle of Lu Yun’s palm—the fire of reincarnation. With the strength of at its peak, the flames it released could split into the six domineering hellfires and any connate fire.

The Diexi swords suppressed Diexi, so Lu Yun would use the fire of reincarnation to refine the swords. Each one that was refined meant a weakening of the will that belonged to Feilu. When enough of them were destroyed, Diexi would be freed from his control.

Forebear’s fragmented soul in the Diexi swords had long grown to unparalleled heights. Once she was reborn, her strength would far eclipse what it was in her former life and she would be capable of defeating a demon god by herself.

This was also part of the Dao King’s plans.

On the other side, the Dao King grappled with Feilu. Rampaging energy of yang metal flourished around his thousands of replicas as he slayed vicious beast after vicious beast. The five sacred palaces rose from their territory at the same time to travel to this locale.

Three hundred and sixty-five eyes of great dao flared with the light of great dao, deploying beams that were thousands of times stronger than when they hunted Lu Yun. Not even nihil level beasts could withstand them.

The Dao King was fully deploying all of the power that he could bring to bear in his current condition. After today, the only trace of him left in the Three Thousand would be the replica that contended again the demon goods in the void.

Even the five sacred palaces might eventually slip out of his grasp, but there was no other choice available when the situation progressed to this point.

Lu Yun was similarly calling upon his full strength. The Tome of Life and Death manifested over his head and blazing flames of reincarnation set his entire body on fire. Diexi swords were continuously refined, releasing fragments of Forebear’s soul.

The soul fragments were as if the swords. Corpse King Diexi howled and snarled, wanting to break free of Diexi’s suppression, but Feilu’s will was being eroded away by Forebear’s soul. The bloody light in Diexi’s eyes began to recede.

ROAR!

A tremendous roar came from beneath the earth and a hand covered in scales poked out of the soil, grabbing at the preoccupied Lu Yun.

A nihil level vicious beast!

It’d dived beneath the ground to bypass the Dao King’s blockade and appear beneath Lu Yun’s feet. The sudden attack caught the young man off guard, leaving him no time to react.

Boom!

Diexi’s eyes shot open and she gently pressed her hand down. An enormous gust of sword qi blasted from her hand and pulverized the beast.

“My thanks, you can leave the rest to me.” Diexi smiled at Lu Yun and gently waved her hand, crushing the remaining one hundred swords that were yet to be refined. One hundred strands of soul drifted into her body.

The reborn Forebear was still called Diexi and went by the sword for her name. She carried the keen light of the Diexi sword and her lethal strength was more pronounced than before.

“Fellow daoist, leave this scene to me.” She threw her head back with laughter. “I will protect the Three Thousand from now on!”

Humm!

A massive sword drifted through the air like a butterfly, sweeping through everything and churning one hundred million vicious beasts into bits of blood and gore.

“I was too merciful before and didn’t hunt you beasts down despite knowing that you were demonic god bloodline. I will not make the same mistake again!” Diexi flew at Feilu.

“If I could kill you once, I can kill you twice!” snarled Feilu at seeing his bloodline being slaughtered. He spread his eight arms open, each of them wielded a weapon. These were weapons formed from the excess of energy when existence manifested in the nothing. They were true connate treasures and shared the same root as heaven and earth.

The Three Thousand trembled when the weapons appeared—Feilu’s replica had once used them to kill Forebear!

“I leave this in your heads, fellow daoist.” The Dao King raised a cupped fist salute to Diexi as his replica of pure yang metal dissolved, turning into the sharpest of energy that filtered into her sword.

That doubled the Diexi sword’s strength. Lu Yun had retreated as far away as he could; this wasn’t a battle that someone of his cultivation level could observe. Its ripples alone would obliterate him if he drew near.

Boom!

The entire realm shuddered as the strain from the two clashing was too much. The five sacred palaces had also withdrawn to their territories to reinforce the world.

“The current Three Thousand cannot endure our strength. We fight in the void!” Feilu whistled and jumped upward, vanishing into the air.

Diexi glanced in Lu Yun’s direction before following the demon god.

Feilu didn’t want to destroy the realm at this time as he wanted the Three Thousand’s energy. Diexi was even more unwilling to harm this world.

“So that’s a nihil powerhouse, huh? I’m still too green,” Lu Yun smacked his lips. “I can dominate any heavyweight beneath nihil, but one of those great personages can crush me with a finger. Good thing I didn’t really suffer any losses this time.”

He tilted his head back to look into the nothing. He could tell that Feilu, in the borrowed replica of Corpse, was no match for a Diexi at peak strength. His eight connate weapons wouldn’t change that fact either. The Dao King dismantling his replica into the energy of yang metal had reinforced the Diexi sword to the point of restricting the eight weapons.

He didn’t need to calculate the situation to know that Feilu’s replica was doomed. In fact, the demon god had voluntarily gone back to the nothing likely because he wanted to injure Forebear as much as possible before his replica was destroyed.

Calm returned to the Three Thousand. While Diexi had slaughtered one hundred million vicious beasts with a single stroke, it was just the tip of the iceberg for the vicious beasts.

Sanctuary was still sanctuary and the prohibited zones were still off limits.

Disciples of the tomb raider sect had located all three hundred and sixty-five altars. Lu Yun firmly remained out of the matter, permitting the Dao Academy’s disciples to fully rely on their own abilities.

Naturally, there were many casualties during the process as the Three Thousand was more dangerous than the world of immortals. However, the tomb raiders were as if wild horses freed from their reins after arriving in this realm. Everything was fresh, exciting, and no ancient tomb went unturned.

More importantly was that they loved to share dao and eventually convinced swathes of mortals to cultivate after prolonged persuasion. Immortal dao blossomed in the Three Thousand.

Diexi returned from the nothing after three years. Feilu’s replica was dead, but she was also heavily injured. However, since Lu Yun had fully mastered the Tome of Life and Death, this level of harm didn’t mean anything to her.

She would fully recover after some time in the inner world of the Tome of Life and Death.

“When do we start killing demon gods?” she asked eagerly when she saw Lu Yun.

“We can start with Feilu.” The young man had identified which altar belonged to the demon god. Feilu’s primary body would be affected by the demise of his replica, so he should currently be at his weakest.

“But I need to increase my strength a bit more…” Lu Yun stroked his chin. “Although the Tome of Life and Death has finished evolving, it’s just returned to what it should be. My connection to it ought to continue to improve as well.”
