Chapter 2171.1: Law Enforcer

Chapter 2171.1: Law Enforcer

Chapter 2171.1: Law Enforcer

“Soul projection small fry?” Fengxian Wu blinked. “If I’m seeing things correctly, you’re foundation establishment yourself, aren’t you?”

“That’s right, I’ve established my foundations!” Lu Yun chortled. “I don’t need to be a virgin anymore, so you…”

Although he leered like a pervert, he didn’t nurse the slightest desire in his heart. Two people had lived in it all this time and filled it to the brim.

Fengxian Wu flushed bright red.

RUMBLE!

The formation groaned as individual clusters within extinguished one after another. An enormous opening punched through the Major Cycle Nebula Formation. Within the Lu residence, the golden core cultivators overseeing the formation spat out mouthfuls of blood and fell to the ground.

“What?!” Lu Yun’s brows creased.

A man dressed in black combat armor stood proudly in the air. He wielded a longsword and looked imperiously over the complex. Not only had the Major Cycle Nebula Formation been pierced through, but so had the sword formation set by the Nineheavens Pagoda.

“An awakened cultivator!” The second senior brother reeled with shock. “How is there an awakened cultivator here??”

Awakened cultivators were peak existences among cultivators. They’d passed their tribulations and could ascend to immortality in a cloud of radiance. What was an awakened cultivator doing in a mere third rank empire??

“A law enforcer for the Jade Ruins Realm?” Fengxian Wu looked at the armored man with interest.

“Who is the lord of the Lu Clan?” The man spoke gruffly with a manner of eternal ice that would never melt.

“This humble one is Lu Yun and greets the senior.” Lu Yun remained where he was as no one dared move given the aura draped over the area. He raised cupped fists inside a halted Major Cycle Nebula Formation.

“I am a law enforcer from the Xuanhuang Empire. I wish to know if the human demon Bloodbath in the Lu residence.” The armored man ignored the gesture.

“He is not.” Lu Yun connected the dots. A few days ago, the Ouyang Clan spread word that Bloodbath was in Silver City. This law enforcer had likely come to verify the rumors.

The dao weapon? Would an enforcer from one of the three ninth rank empires lack for dao weapons? His longsword and black armor were all upper dao rank treasures!

“Milord, the Lus cannot be trusted to answer. An investigation must be made!” Another voice rang out as soon as Lu Yun finished speaking. Ouyang Shengtian arrived in a streak of sword light.

“Hmph!” snorted the armored man as he swept out with an incomparable consciousness.

“Milord enforcer, we are entertaining an honorable guest. Milord will not be able to afford the consequences if you run afoul of this noble guest!”

The law enforcer frowned when a voice sounded in his ears.

“Milord most likely knows a little about Miss Fengxian, if she is offended…” Lu Yun continued.

“Fengxian…” The enforcer trembled and looked deeply at Fengxian Wu next to Lu Yun. He swiftly calmed down. “Bloodbath is not in the Lu residence. I take my leave.”

He vanished on the spot with a turn of his body.

Fengxian Wu glared at Lu Yun. She’d identified the newcomer in a moment of interest, but that gave an opportunity for the young man to use her again.

I suspected that Fengxian Wu was the young miss of some clan from a ninth rank empire, but it looks like I’ve underestimated her still. Lu Yun’s lips curved upward. What she’d called out was “a law enforcer for the Jade Ruins Realm”, not of the Xuanhuang Empire or a ninth rank empire.

Most important was his earlier observation of her fighting skill. It went without saying how precious her identity was if an initial golden core cultivator could easily trounce several nascent soul powerhouses.

But a law enforcer has come and the Ouyangs are using him as their weapon. It would be a fatal blow to both the family and nation if he really does discover the tie between Bloodbath and us.

It looks like the Ouyangs have gotten an inkling of the truth behind events of that day. Lu Yun’s thoughts flew rapidly.

Due to the law enforcer breaking the Major Cycle Nebula Formation, the three soul projection and dozens of nascent soul cultivators from the Nineheavens Pagoda streamed into the complex.

“Hahaha, Lu Yun, I’d like to see how you strut around now! And you, woman! How dare you hit me?! I’m going to drag you back and turn you into my sex slave! I’ll have you know what wishing for death feels like!” A cackling Cloudexit leered threateningly and looked Fengxian Wu up and down.

The young woman looked on solemnly while a phoenix shadow flickered behind her. Lu Yun didn’t care about the intruders.

“Sir Cloudexit, do you really intend to eat the shit that you’ve pushed out your ass?” Lu Yun smiled superciliously at his opponent.

“Shut up!” he roared back.

“Don’t bother arguing, just slaughter the entire clan down to the last chicken!” roared his second senior brother Xu Lang. The nascent soul cultivators erupted in unison and sent terrifying rays of sword light at Lu Yun.

Boom!

Another tremble shook the air and dispersed the cascade of sword light. A magnificent black figure descended from the sky.

“You know that this seat is here, yet persist in conducting affairs that anger the heavens and vex the people. Do you lack all respect for this seat?” The black armored enforcer had come back and coolly regarded Cloudexit, Xu Lang, and their people.

“Mi, milord…” Xu Lang stammered with shock. He hadn’t thought that the venerated enforcer would interfere in a low ranked cultivation empire! “Mi-milord, Darklake is a vassal of my Dark Orchid Empire. This is an internal affair, so I would request that milord not interfere.”

It was a perfect opportunity to get rid of the Lus! Once the clan was done and that person’s task was complete, the entire sect would receive untold benefits and even become a sect of a fifth rank empire!

Bam!

Xu Lang flew backward. He was devoid of life signs when he crashed to the ground.

“Get out,” the enforcer grunted.

The rest of the Nineheavens Pagoda cultivators scrambled for dear life. They ran off without even retrieving Xu Lang’s corpse.

Hiding in the shadows, Ouyang Shengtian quickly scuttled off when he saw that the wondrous personage he’d arranged for had somehow become a guardian for the Lu Clan and seemed to be in a strange mood.

“Our deepest thanks to milord enforcer for saving us!” Lu Yun bowed to the law enforcer.

Fengxian Wu retracted her phoenix shadow and looked noncommittally at the man. He’d taken action purely on account of her.

“Unmoving Phoenix… You are indeed a Fengxian…” The enforcer looked on with agitation.

“It’s enough to simply know of certain things, you don’t need to speak of them,” Fengxian Wu’s voice echoed in the man’s mind, calming his expression.

“Miss Fengxian, why have you come to the Jade Ruins Cultivation World? Do you wish for me to contact… so they can bring you back?” he transmitted back.

“No need, I have my reasons for being here. Do not reveal my presence to anyone.”

“Understood!” the enforcer responded solemnly.

The Fengxians were a stunning family that could destroy this entire world if they were angered. The Unmoving Phoenix that Fengxian Wu displayed was their ultimate art. Only someone of their bloodline could learn it.

While the black armored man was a law enforcer of the Jade Ruins Realm, he was also acquainted with the formidable clans outside the realm. Most important was that their world and the three ninth rank empires were just a tiny corner of the faction that the Fengxian Clan belonged to.

The world was vast—the Jade Ruins Realm and its associated faction were but a speck of dust.

Lu Yun knew that the enforcer was conversing with Fengxian Wu when he didn’t receive a response. His eyes moved rapidly in thought.

“Milord enforcer, please forgive this humble one for lying earlier,” he suddenly said.

“Eh?” Both Fengxian Wu and the enforcer started.

“Senior Bloodbath is indeed in the residence.”

The law enforcer was a bit bemused. He was primarily here to arrest Bloodbath, but things took on a different cast after he met a Fengxian young miss.

Was Bloodbath important anymore?

Not being a Jade Ruins inhabitant, Fengxian Wu raised a quizzical eyebrow when she heard the name Bloodbath.

“The one who used the pill to heal Miss Fengxian’s injuries was Senior Bloodbath,” Lu Yun solemnly explained.

Fengxian Wu had been gravely injured before. Although she’d suppressed her injuries with secret arts, making everything seem normal on the surface, she was so deeply hurt that her golden core had cracked.

It’d taken Lu Yun’s pill with the properties of the Violet Orchid Ganoderma and Bloodbath’s combination-level methods, as well as a tea leaf from Sky, to fully heal her. It was for this reason that she was willing to stay at the Lu residence and didn’t mind how Lu Yun had fully used her just now.
