Chapter 114: Advent of the Blood God!
Chapter 114: Advent of the Blood God!
Mithras knew that Odoacer's immortality was infinitely close to perfection, so far above the other Fylkirs that their immortality relied on his. But as the Decimation Skill could consume blood and soul, why could it not end the King of Kings? Mithras had to try, and so try he did, ripping through his old man's neck with the Decimation Skill.
Odoacer's blood gushed like a fountain, streaming into Mithras' throat as his rosy skin turned sickly pale…and his life subscription…expired at last!
"I loved you, son. Even if all the rest can be questioned, I want you to know that your dad's love for you…was the real deal. I'm from South Side Rosaria, Ravenwood born and bred, with the pointed star still on my shoulder, and my heart forever bound to the streets. Maybe it's that sick connection…that I wanted to share with you. Too bad…we'll never know.
Farewell…my boy," Odoacer whispered his final words, tears flowing from his eyes as his soul entered Mithras' body, devoured outright!
Just like the rest, the King of Kings turned into ashes. But in that instant, Mithras' eyes trembled, his body turning heavy as the system's voice echoed in his mind:
[Ding! Ding! Ding!]
[Doomsday Scenario…detected!]
[The Host has destroyed the last vestiges of Odoacer's humanity! The King of Kings has given up on his heart and embraced his role as the Weaver's Chosen One!]
[Warning! The Devil Blood Covenant has been completed! The Weaver is overjoyed! The Greatest Boon kicks in! The Blood God arises!]
[Odoacer has died! Fylkir Hadubrangr…awakens!]
The disturbing series of system prompts ended here, and as Mithras' eyes widened in disbelief, acid reflux welled up his throat, and he threw up, vomiting his father's soul! A hurricane of scarlet flames took shape, dwarfing Springtime City as it rose and tore through the sky.
The flame hurricane dispersed the moment next, revealing a brand-new Odoacer who stood with his back turned to Mithras. From rosy white, the Fylkir's skin turned chalky, his ears taking a long elven shape as his hair spiked upwards, shimmering in sanguine flames. A bone-chilling armor of dark and scarlet plates fell on the Fylkir's shoulders, and he spun 180, his cape unfurling as he faced his son.
Cold, austere, unfeeling and unforgiving. There was nothing warm or human in those eyes, both filled with nothing but ordered tyranny.
The definition of imperial and august!
[Divine Blood Construction]
The Fylkir raised his right hand, crafting a brand-new broadsword in a burst of divine power. The divine-class weapon hissed and shrieked, its diabolical energy waves firing in all directions, and disintegrating all in its wake.
Yes. If not for the likes of Vel'Asha and Akamana being in the audience, just the aura of this divine sword would have erased Springtime City from the map!
"I've been waiting for this day for 100,000 years. Thank you, my son, for achieving what the others could not—unshackling me at last.
Love and humanity are the privileges of the weak, with no role to play in the heart…of the Absolute Monarch," Fylkir Hadubrangr said, and as his words trailed off, Hadubrangr appeared behind Mithras, particles of dark and sanguine light coiling his form as a long blood gash tore through Mithras' chest!

Mithras' blood rained front and back, his face twisting into a grimace as another large gash ripped through his back! Hadubrangr appeared before his son, leisurely walking around Mithras while eying him with a deadpan look.
"Now you learn why I'm the father, and you the son," the Fylkir said, and as Mithras registered the words, a jab came from his left, sending him flying into the distance.
"Drul…ak'nul!" Moving at the speed of light, Hadubrangr reformed behind Mithras, hand aiming at his son as his authority over the blood erupted in full force!
Mithras didn't explode. But his heart ripped in his chest, blood pouring out of his eyes, nose and ears as he reeled left and right!
Still, Mithras didn't lose his composure, summoning more wyrms and fusing them with his torn heart before blitzing the Fylkir with a looping hammer swing!
"Trajan should have been the binding spirit of our trinity. A pity. I was looking forward to it. Oh well, such is life. If Trajan fell to your fangs…maybe he just wasn't that good, to begin with," Hadubrangr said, deflecting Mithras' hammer swings while walking around, and waving his left hand in arcane gestures.
[Rite of Extinction: Dark Singularity]
A colossal blade of infinite darkness erupted from Hadubrangr's index, bisecting Mithras at the waist, and making his blood gush out! Mithras' world reeled, his mind turning chaotic as he tightened his fists—forcing himself to remain standing!
"And now you pay the price for offending the dignity of the one true sovereign, your father, the King of Kings!
Mithras, you will become your father's food, and on your corpse, I shall establish the foundation of my eternal empire!
Emphyria…za'hak muk'bal!" The Fylkir declared, breaking into a trillion atomic particles that scattered all over the scene.
[Subatomic Refraction]
A myriad of coiling scarlet rays burst in all directions, carrying salvos of subatomic blood rays that shot forth, aiming for Mithras! There was nowhere to run to, no out, no escape! Even at the atomic scale, Hadubrangr had the place on lock, forcing Mithras to confront his new thesis.
He didn't put up a fight, instantly torn to shreds by the Subatomic Refraction! But as Hadubrangr appeared behind Mithras, fangs bared and sinking in his neck, blinding solar rays erupted from the youth. The Lord's Tears burned in his abdomen, and his injuries…healed instantly.
"Hold still…" Mithras ordered, and to Hadubrangr's shock, his body turned sluggish, slowed down by Mithras' Majesty…if only a little! The hammer came swinging, crashing into the Fylkir's jaw, and shattering his bones!
But even as he reeled from the blow, Hadubrangr kicked at Mithras' chest, sending him rolling the other way!
The two flew back, stabilizing themselves mid-flight before coming right back at one another with a flurry of murderous swings!
Rumbling blasts and metallic clangs were all over the place. Hadubrangr's sword lopped into Mithras' shoulder, but the youth weaved to the side, kicking the Fylkir in the knee before smashing him in the skull! Hadubrangr reeled from the blow, but his sword cleaved anyway, slicing through Mithras' chest like a knife through butter!
Like a pair of demented fiends, father and son traded blows, chipping at clothes and armor, breaking bones and rebuilding organs as they drained their resources in a mad frenzy!
"GGRRRR!" Hadubrangr let out a guttural howl, becoming a scarlet leviathan with dark lunar markings that spread all over its scales. Mithras followed suit, morphing into a gargantuan dragon horse with dark-red scales that rippled with boundless solar rays.
The two beasts launched into one another, meeting in a collision of transcendent force and rumbling blasts that spread all the way…to the Holy Continent!
Mithras and Hadubrangr flew back, cratering in opposing directions—a dark moon above one, and a blinding sun behind the other.
Without hesitation, they picked themselves up, rushing back into battle with hammer and sword raised—swinging till one caved in! But neither one did, and as the two flew back from another collision, a blinding column of light dropped from the sky, marking the descent of a transcendent figure that manifested itself for the first time in tens of thousands of years!
Over 100 meters tall, with a wrinkled face but a herculean pale gray body, the Weaver made his entrance, followed by his First Devotee, a scarlet giant burning in blinding red flames:
The Red God…Heruka!
