Chapter 392 - 392
Chapter 392 - 392
When Cedric's plane landed in the airport a fleet of vehicles were already waiting. They needed to get to the hospital as quickly as possible.
"Hi mom, yeah we just landed." Miguel said over the phone as he walked down the plane stairs.
??"Alright, we're on our way." Miguel said as he dropped the call.
"Well that was mom. She said Nicole safely delivered a baby boy a few hours ago."Miguel happily announced as they walked over to the cars.
"Is the child alright?" Veronica asked.
"Yes. Little Tristan Lim was born a month early so he has to be placed in an incubator for a while, otherwise he is as healthy as could be." Miguel announced with a smile.
"How's Nicole?" Eric asked.
"She's recovering, luckily it wasn't a difficult delivery." Miguel said proudly, calming his elder brother's worries.
"We should get going then, I'm sure you guys are anxious to get to the hospital." Cedric said as he helped Adrianna into his car.
Luckily they had arrived at a lean time of the day and they managed to avoid the evening rush hour. They got to Saints Hospital faster than they expected, Nicole was staying in the VIP room at the top floor and all of the parents and their other friends were already there.
"How is she?" Miguel asked their mom as they walked up the hall.
"She's doing well, she might be resting though. Go in. Ian is there." Lucy Chan said as she pointed at the VIP room where Nicole was staying.
They all quickly rushed in taking everyone inside by surprise.
"Guys, seriously?" Alexi asked as his friends and sister entered the room.
"Nicole is trying to rest." Ian said coldly as he glared at everyone.
"Was I this bad when Adrianna gave birth?" Cedric asked Miguel.
"Hahaha. No, you were worse. Ian is calm and collected, you were frantic and stressed." Miguel teased as he walked up to check his sister's condition.
"How is she Nurse Jen?" Miguel asked as someone entered the room.
Cedric was surprised that Miguel was able to tell who had come in without even lifting his head.
"She's recovering quite well doctor, the team your mother used to assist in the delivery was your own." Nurse Jen reported as she walked over to check on Nicole. Nurse Jen then checked Nicole's IV then injected something into it.
"You don't need to check on her. I'm back." Miguel said calmly as he placed the chart sheet back.
"Sir, with all due respect, I can provide care to Miss Nicole." Nurse Jen insisted.
"I said leave." Miguel said coldly.
"Miguel, you don't need to be so harsh, Jen is just trying to -" Alexi said in an attempt to defend Nurse Jen, unfortunately he was cut off with a glare from Miguel.
"I think you should leave babe." Alexi said as he walked Jen out.
"Send Jo in." Miguel called out as Nurse Jen left the room.
"Why do you have to be so harsh on her? She was just doing her job." Alexi asked Miguel.
Just as Miguel asked, Jo arrived and greeted Cedric.
"Who gave her permission to use that medication on Nicole?" Miguel coldly asked his head nurse, Jo.
"What medication? We have only been using the one on the charts." Jo told Miguel as he pointed at the clipboard Miguel was reading earlier.
"Nurse Jen walked in here and injected something into Nicole's IV. It was one of Natalia's experimental drugs." Miguel revealed.
"That's impossible." Alexi said as he took a step forward and approached Miguel. "Jen would never do anything to harm Nicole. And how did you know that it was an experimental drug that my sister just so happens to be working on?" Alexi asked.
"The syringe. It's different. As well as the color of the liquid." Miguel said calmly.
"You're accusing Jen just by that?" Alexi asked angrily. "Show at least some proof."
"Jo, take a blood sample from my sister." Miguel ordered as he took out his phone and dialed a number. He quickly placed it on speaker and placed the phone on a table.
"Mr. Miracle Doctor, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Natalia teased as she picked up the call.
"Not a time for fun and games Natalia. I'm here in the hospital and you're on speaker." Miguel said in a cold tone.
"Other doctors?" Natalia asked in a panicked tone.
"No, just your siblings." Katerina said with a laugh.
"Oh, okay. I'm not embarrassed then." Natalia said calmly.
"Natalia, focus." Miguel scolded. "You had a drug you were showing me a year ago. You said it was under development but it would be the perfect partner for the truth serum we used. Do you remember?"
"Ah, yes. I call them, forget me nots." Natalia said with a giggle.
"Trust Natalia to name a dangerous drug after flowers." Katerina said with a sigh as she continued to listen in on the conversation.
"Can they be detected in blood tests?" Miguel asked.
"Of course, but only after a prolonged exposure and only if the blood is drawn two minutes after the drug is administered. Why?" Natalia asked.
"Miguel, it's been ten minutes." Jo said as he looked at the wall clock hanging over Nicole's bed.
"Is there any other way to prove that the drug was administered to a patient?" Miguel asked as he massaged his temples.
"Me, make something easily detectable?" Natalia scoffed. "You mock me."
"Natalia, you won't be happy about this." Katerina warned her younger sister.
"Why?" Natalia asked over the phone.
"I think someone injected Nicole with your drug." Miguel said.
"It was Jen." Katerina quickly added.
"It's just a suspicion." Alexi said as he was quick to defend the woman he loved.
"How could Jen…" Natalia's voice trailed as she thought of how Jen could have possibly gotten her hands on the drug she developed. "It's impossible for Jen to have gotten a vial of my drug. It's in a safe, in my lab at home."
"See, Jen couldn't have." Alexi said, quickly jumping onto what Natalia had just said.
"Why are you guys so noisy?" Nicole suddenly said in a weak voice as she tried to get up. Ian quickly ran to her side.
"How are you feeling little sister?" Eric asked as he walked up.
"Like a woman who has just given birth" Nicole groaned.
"See, she can remember she just gave birth, Jen couldn't have administered the drug!" Alexi said proudly.
"Alexi, the drug doesn't erase immediate memories." Natalia said over the phone.
