Chapter 423 - 423
Chapter 423 - 423
Cedric smiled as he looked at the image of his wife that Ayanna had just sent. It was a photo of Adrianna looking at herself in the mirror. The lilac gown made his wife look even younger, it was simple yet it exuded elegance. He had to hand it to Selina and Mau, they did a really good job.
"Sir, Camilla is here." Mae said as she knocked on the door.
??"Let her in." Cedric said as he placed his phone away.
"Boss." Camilla said with a nod as she walked in.
"You know you don't have to call me boss. You usually just call me Cedric." He said, shaking his head. "Emilo, come over and say hi to auntie Camilla." Cedric called out.
Emilio turned around and smiled when he saw his auntie Camilla. The little boy stood up and ran over to her, giving her a big hug.
"Hello Yoyo." Camilla placed a kiss on his cheek and picked him up.
"Auntie, I missed you." Emilio said as he looked up at her with his handsome face and bright eyes.
"I missed you too Yoyo. I'm sorry I couldn't visit. I had a lot of work to do." Camilla said with a frown. Mor Co. had been extremely busy recently with the completion of the tech hub right around the corner.
"Daddy it's your fault!" Emilio said as he looked at his father who simply laughed at him. Cedric wasn't surprised that his son understood that he was the one making Camilla work.
"It's not your dad's fault Yoyo." Camilla said as she sat down and placed him on her lap. "It's work, it's normal."
"Daddy, I want auntie Camilla, uncle Ian, uncle Dave, and auntie Mae to visit me." Emilio told his father.
"Okay, okay. I'll make them work less and come over more." Cedric said with a smile. "Now let me and auntie Camilla work."
Emilio simply nodded and hopped off Camilla's lap before running back to his toys.
"That kid is too smart." Camilla said, shaking her head.
"He'll run this company well someday." Cedric said proudly. "How has the Tech Hub's development been going? No incidents?" Cedric asked.
"None." Camilla said with a relieved smile. "Things have been going well and we are ready to open in three weeks."
"Wow, that's faster than I expected." Cedric said with a smile. He was glad that his first major project was finally going to be completed. "Why did you want to speak to me?" Cedric asked.
"I was hoping to go through the program with you." Camilla said, handing him a piece of paper. "It's just the normal stuff but I wanted to hand it over to you personally. I know how much this project means to you."
"Thank you Camilla." Cedric said with a genuine smile.
Cedric reviewed the document and found everything to be in order, he signed it, approving the program proposal.
"I look forward to the inauguration." Cedric said. "Is that all?"
"Yes. Plus I wanted to play with Emilio." Camilla said with a smile.
"Knock yourself out. I have work to do and I feel bad that he has to play in the corner on his own." Cedric said with a frown as he watched his son.
"From what Mae told me he was barely alone today." Camilla said as she walked over to the little boy.
Cedric smiled, he was happy about how much love his son was getting. Both his friends and family spoiled Emilio.
With his son in good hands Cedric went back to work. Eventually, Camilla had to leave making Emilio sad. Cedric decided to take some time off work and played with his son, Emilio's laughter filled the office, making Cedric even happier.
"Sir?" Mae said as she entered, she was surprised to find Cedric's desk empty. She looked around and found him sitting on the ground, playing with his son.
"Yes Mae?" Cedric asked.
"Mr. Alexi is here." Mae announced.
"Let him in." Cedric said without getting up.
"You know if people saw you like this they would be shocked." Alexi said with a laugh as he sat on the ground with Cedric and Emilio.
"Uncle Alex!" Emilio said, hugging Alexi.
"Hello Emilio, how are you enjoying your dad's office?" Alexi asked the little boy.
"I like going to the office with dad." Emilio said with a wide smile.
"Good, good." Alexi said with a nod. Cedric noticed that he was acting oddly, he seemed a little restrained in his movement.
"Is something wrong?" Cedric asked as he looked at his friend.
"Do you mind if we talk away from Emilio?" Alexi asked as he patted the boy on the head.
"Sure." Cedric said with a nod as he got up and walked over to the intercom in the office.
"Mae, do you mind taking care of Emilio out there?" Cedric asked.
"No problem boss!" Came Mae's response almost immediately.
Mae came in and helped Emilio pick up some toys. Emilio held Mae's hand as they walked out of Cedric's office.
"We're alone as you wanted." Cedric said, stretching his arms. "What do you want?" He asked.
Cedric watched as Alexi hesitated to speak. He paced back and forth, he stopped and tried to speak several times, but to no avail. It seemed whatever was bothering Alexi weighed heavily on his shoulders.
"Does it involve your engagement?" Cedric finally asked. He decided to start with the most obvious source of his dilemma.
"Yes." Alexi said with a nod.
"Are you doubting your actions?" Cedric asked.
"Yes." Alexi answered again.
"I thought you were sure about Jen?" Cedric said with a grin. He wasn't Nurse Jen's biggest fan either.
"I am, well I'm not sure if I am." Alexi said with a sigh.
"Alexi you proposed without being sure about it, why?" Cedric massaged his temples, he could feel a headache building as Alexi confessed that he wasn't sure about the woman he had proposed to.
"I was so angry." Alexi said. "Katerina keeps telling me how she didn't trust Jen, or how she felt something was wrong about her. Then the whole incident where she saw Jen with another man came up, and I just lost it."
"Dude, you were stupid." Cedric said bluntly. "Why would you propose to someone without being sure? Katerina was only looking out for you."
"I know, I know. But my sister can be too much most of the time." Alexi said with a sigh.
"So what do you plan to do about it?" Cedric asked.
"Wait and see I guess." Alexi said with a shrug.
"Okay, I doubt you came here to talk about just this. So why did you really come over?" Cedric said as he looked his friend in the eyes.
