Chapter 690 - 690
Chapter 690 - 690
"Any news?" Cedric asked as Ian slipped into the front seat of his car.
He was supposed to make his entrance at the event in thirty minutes. Cedric had already seen the members of the press flocking the entrance to Constellations Hotel, he was sure that they all wanted his opinion on Camilla's perceived betrayal.
??"I can't contact Camilla, she is probably still with Lucius." Ian explained, his frustration clear in the tone of his voice.
"Camilla has her reasons." Cedric said in a solemn mood. "I trust her and I'm sure so do you. Let's focus on other matters."
Camilla appearing in public as Lucius' girlfriend caught Cedric and the others completely by surprise. They knew that she was doing something to get Lucius to rely on her even more, they just didn't expect her to go this far.
"I know you are worried about her too." Ian said with a sigh as he turned and looked at Cedric.
"I am." Cedric said with a nod. "But the fastest and safest way for us to get her out of the predicament she is in is to get rid of Lucius Ting."
"Lucius Ting will be nothing without her and Benedict, can't they just pull out the investment they already have in Arch Group?" Ian asked.
"If they do that someone else will quickly step in and give him the funds that he needs." Cedric explained. "It's best that we know exactly what he is doing so that we can plan on how to take him down."
"If they see that his largest investor suddenly pulled out, they will see that something is wrong, people will hesitate to invest." Ian said, as explained his idea to Cedric.
"Not anymore." Adrianna said as she suddenly joined in on the conversation. "With her now dating Lucius, if they pull out their investments it will be seen as a petty woman's move to get revenge on her ex."
"I doubt they would -" Ian began to say before Adrianna cut him off.
"If she were the man in the relationship it would be seen as a strong move, as a power move. But she is a woman, it's different for her." Adrianna said in an aggressive tone as Ian shut his mouth, realizing what he had said wrong.
"Shall we go back to our discussion?" Cedric asked Ian as he laughed at how his friend and assistant had been reduced to silence by his wife.
"Yes." Ian said with a nod.
"Will they be coming?" Cedric asked as wrapped his free hand around his wife.
He was attracted to this powerful and strong side of hers, it was a side she rarely let out in front of others, but it was one he had always known existed.
"Yes." Ian confirmed as he checked a list on his phone. "They all promised to arrive."
"Good." Cedric said with a nod. "Lucius Ting made a huge mistake by underestimating the influence of the Reyes Group, and those that sided with him chose to end their business career."
"This is very unlike you." Adrianna commented. "You rarely fix a small problem with a huge and flashy one."
Cedric grinned and chuckled, his wife was right, this wasn't his go to strategy. He was known for using the least amount of effort with the most efficient results.
Sometimes he was so efficient that people never even heard of what he had done.
"This time is different." Cedric told his wife. "This time, I have a message I want to send, and this time I want to make sure that Lucius Ting gets it."
"Gets what?" Adrianna asked as she looked up at her husband, clearly unsure about what he had meant.
"I want the man to understand that I am not your everyday businessman, that if he thinks the Reyes Group can easily be taken down, he has another thing coming." Cedric said with a laugh as Ian's phone began to ring.
Ian excused himself and stepped out of the car to take the call.
Cedric nodded at his driver, signalling that he wanted some private time with his wife. His driver, John, obliged and lifted the barrier between the front seats and the back seats.
"Cedric, we can't be naughty." Adrianna scolded her husband as soon as she noticed the divider lifting.
"I know." Cedric said as he pulled her onto his lap and kissed her on the lips.
"Cedric, my make up!" Adrianna complained as he moved his lips to brush her neck.
"I know, that's why I'm kissing you here." Cedric said with a laugh as he kissed her on the neck.
"There is makeup there too!" Adrianna complained.
"I'm sure you can just cover it up again." Cedric said as he gave her neck a slight nibble, making
Adrianna moan.
"Cedric!" Adrianna shouted as she swatted him playfully. "Can't you behave?" She asked her husband as she squirmed on his lap.
"Adri, you are making things worse." Cedric whispered as he felt an urge building up as his manhood began to harden.
Cedric warped an arm around Adrianna's waist and pulled her even closer to him, kissing from her neck to her exposed collar bones.
"Ced!" Adrianna moaned as she felt jolts of pleasure course through her body.
Suddenly their moment was ruined when a knock came from the window.
Cedric groaned as he gave Adrianna a chaste kiss on her lips and placed her back down next to him.
"What?!" Cedric asked angrily as he rolled down the window.
Very few people would dare approach his car or even intrude on the private moment, so he was sure it was either Ian or one of his friends.
"Oh, don't complain." Ian said with a laugh, he already knew what Cedric was up to inside the car. "You and Adri can't do much in the car. One she is pregnant and you wouldn't want her to be uncomfortable, and two, she's all made up for tonight. She would be pissed at you for ruining her makeup."
"I'm assuming you have news?" Cedric asked Ian in a curt tone, ignoring what his friend had just said.
Of course Cedric didn't plan on doing too much with his wife in his car, they still had an event to attend and didn't have enough time.
As for Adrianna's makeup, he could have easily called over one of Ram's professional teams to fix her up before they had to enter the hotel.
"Your guests have arrived." Ian said with a grin. He knew what Cedric and the others had planned would be the front page news in the morning.
And tonight, social media would be flooded with Cedric's welcome dinner.
Lucius' little party and the bomb he had dropped on Cedric would all be forgotten by the time morning came.
