Chapter 11: Skill Shop III

The scales weighing in favor of [Mana Regeneration] tipped even more after Thea remembered the countless novels and anime she used to have in position, where people would either faint or even die when they ran out of mana. She wasn't sure if Terah had the same rules but she didn't want to risk it.

Before she bought it though she inspected both skills:

[Mana Regeneration (LVL.1): Boosts your body's natural mana absorption by 10%. Current passive mana absorption: 30% of maximum mana. 550 DP]

[Parallel Thinking (LVL.1): Allows you to think of 2 separate things with little difficulty, simultaneously. 600 DP]

Now the [Parallel Thinking] looked like an attractive, this would mean she could fire off two spells at a time. The [Mana Regeneration] looked tempting as well, the current 30% she had was probably from [Goddesses Delicate Skin], as it had mentioned her skin would passively absorb mana. Together with her [Mythic Core], Thea figured it would be the most beneficial to go with [Mana Regeneration].

She bought [Mana Regeneration(LVL.1) 550 DP] and was brought back to the passive skill shop screen with only one thing se needed to do, upgrade it. She opened the tab and was brought to a familiar screen again.

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.1) 0 DP]

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.2) 1100 DP]

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.3) 2200 DP]

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.4) 3300 DP]

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.MAX) 4400 DP]

There was one small difference this time, with all the previous skills, to upgrade them she had to pay the skill fee again to raise it one level. With [Mana Regeneration] she however had to pay double the original fee to level it up.

She selected the last option and inspected it for the specifications:

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.MAX): Multiplies your current mana absorption rate by 10 times. 4400 DP]

It made sense for her to buy this as it would increase her mana absorption from 30% to 300%. But she then thought that if she didn't have the [Goddesses Delicate Skin] this upgrade would be useless. Imagine if she only had 1% or 2% mana absorption, that would be multiplied to 10% or 20%, it would be better then, to just buy the level 4 skill as it would probably add 40% mana instead of multiplying it.

Anyone else would need to spend 25 000 DP for the [Goddesses Delicate Skin], 1 000 DP to unlock the special passive skill slot, 550 DP to unlock the skill and 4 400 DP to upgrade it to max. Together with that 600 DP for the [Mythic Core] to use the mana you would get. 31 550 DP in total! Considering a normal person would have about 200 destipoints, they would need to use about 160 lifetimes worth of points!

This realization made Thea sigh in relief, as she had an almost infinite amount of points to spend, and didn't need to worry about bothersome ideas like which skill she wouldn't get so she could afford something else.

She purchased the [Mana Regeneration(LVL.MAX) 4400 DP] and the window closed, she was back at the passive skill shop window and it shortly closed as well, bringing her back to the window with the three compartments, this time in the top compartment was her name and in the bottom left compartment her passive skills listed with their levels:

[Cleaning (LVL.MAX)]

[Poison Resistance (LVL.MAX)]

[Greater Vitality (LVL. MAX)]

[Sexual Talent (LVL. MAX)]

[Meditation Talent (LVL. MAX)]

[Weapon Talent (LVL. MAX)]

[Death Aura (LVL. MAX)]

[Hair Control (LVL. MAX)]

[Status Screen (LVL. MAX)]

[Mana Regeneration(LVL.MAX)]

[LVL.MAX Skills Can Be Activated AND Deactivated By The User.]

Thea looked at her skills with a smug and happy expression as she could deactivate them as well. She then opened the bottom right compartment.

Just like with her passive skills a similar window opened up, and just as she had guessed on the top was written:

[Active Skill Shop]

She wanted to know what was classified as an active skill, as her passive skill could be activated but were somehow still passive skills, so she tried inspecting the [Active Skill Shop] and it opened up.

[Active Skill Shop: A shop that allows you to buy all skills within your physical limitations. An active skill is a skill that requires the host to possess mana.]

That meant that the passive skills would work even if she didn't have a mana core but active skills wouldn't, which was presumably why the [Lesser Core] was free, to give anyone a chance to get and use active skills.

Reading the description again, there was a secondary piece of information you could get out of this, not all skills required mana to run on, only that you possessed mana.

Having figured out what was classified as an active skill she closed the window and started her work.
