Chapter 33: Red Wolves
As Thea was sprinting around the forest, she headed towards a specific location. During the last years Thea had mentally mapped out the whole forest she was allowed to go. She knew exactly where which animals lived and what the dangers and rewards of certain places were.
Right now she was headed to a place where she always found wolves, during the whole 9 years, she never overhunted so she could always come back at a later date to do some more 'grinding'.
The forest was split between different beasts, red wolves, giant serpents, black bears and berserker boars. It was common for a bear to go into the boar territory but strangely they always only hunted one boar. The poor, weak horned rabbits were littered all over. With their quick breading times, they manage to stay alive even when they are hunted by all other beasts.
Thea's biggest fears were either that a species would migrate away or that they would overhunt the other, but as time passed, it became clear that the seasons weren't very extreme, and even if they did want to migrate, to travel there on this big planet would be impossible. The overhunting, Thea managed herself, where the different territories bordered each other, Thea would hunt there instead and if there weren't enough beasts crossing borders she would go for some bunny scraps.
When Thea got close enough to the wolf territory she started hunting, she only needed one or two wolves, she estimated they would give her around the amount of exp she would need. The red wolves were the third strongest of all the beast under the bears and serpents, but where they lacked in strength they made up in intelligence and teamwork. As Thea was running through the trees she spotted three wolves strategically hunting a group of horned rabbits.
"Lightning Spear." Thea said, and from behind her 3 large spears made of lightning came into existence and with a flick of Thea's finger the spears flew towards the wolves down below, killing them on contact. The wolves status was low, like every other being in this forest Thea had gotten bored of.

When Thea had first tried to use magic, she tried just willing it to appear, but when she did this, nothing happened. After lots of testing, Thea found out, that as long as the word belonging to the magic she wanted to cast was audible, she could cast the magic. She could imagine the details of the spell, however in the end she still needed to say the 'activation word' out loud.
Like now, she had imagined 3 spears, of small power and size to hit the wolves, when she said 'Lightning Spear' the spell came into effect.
The wolf corpse didn't give any good meat and she had burned its skin, so she just left them there and headed home, on her way back she briefly checked her own status, just to make sure the three wolves gave the exp they should have.

This mana stat proved that her mana was increasing with 35 instead of 18 each level, somehow she was getting an extra 95% but she didn't know why, she welcomed it though.
She closed her status and sprinted home for dinner.
When she arrived at home, her mother was waiting for her, she helped Thea wash and sent her to eat while she stayed in bath. Thea found it odd, her mother would ask her to eat alone after her hunting trip, so she rushed to the table, ate quickly before she returned to ask her mother, what was wrong.
When Thea neared the bath she heard something that made her smile.
