Chapter 70 [Deserved Cliche]

Chapter 70 [Deserved Cliche]

Helix stood on the major trading road that led to the city of Lexion.

It was nearly sunset, and he was staring in the distance.

He was thirty miles out of the city, ensuring there wasn't a single fork that could stand between him and the beautiful women that would soon arrive.

The young man wasn't alone.

There were two dozen people with him.

Many were shopkeepers and towns folk while others were driving the people.

Bakers named Tilly, Lilith, and their daughter Rika were there.

Additionally, Smith, Sia, and a dozen other people from the city joined.

They were volunteers traveling with Mithra, someone special for the occasion.

Those conspicuously missing were Tyrene, Tilo, Elsa, and Grandmaster Linus.

Each decided to give Helix a day of complete freedom.

Helix was grateful.

The group waited for approximately an hour before a caravan of three wagons came into the distance.

"Is that them?" A man asked.

"Yes, Tilly. I see the Alzerian emblem on the carriages." Helix replied with a huge smile.

"Hah. I can't believe you can see that far." Tilly laughed.

"The agility stat makes seeing at high speeds impossible if your eyesight doesn't improve." Helix chuckled.

"Hah. That's a good point, but you should be worried about other things." Tilly laughed.

"Did you say something, Tilly?" Helix asked with a grin.

"Suppose not. You gonna use that ghostly speed to run into their arms, lady killer.?" TIlly grinned.

"Then what would be the point of you all being here?" Helix chuckled.

"It's not like you can't ride the parade float?" Tilly said with a mocking grin.

"Haaaaaah. I've waited a month, and they've waited for two.

I can wait for another ten minutes until they get their deserved welcome." Helix laughed.

"Hmmm. I'm not good with numbers, kid.

But I can count bread loaves, so I'm entitled to say those numbers don't add up." Tilly chuckled with a complicated expression.

"Hmmm? Fun fact. I was in a coma on the way here." Helix chuckled.

"What!?" Lilith, Tilly's wife, cried.

"It's a long story. But in short, I'm a state-sponsored refugee that came to Kozen for political asylum." Helix laughed.

"Now you're just saying big words on purpose, boy." Tilly chuckled bitterly.

Helix shrugged with an evil grin.

"That's my way of saying my story doesn't matter today."

His grin turned into a gentle smile, and Tilly and Lilith laughed.

"Hmmm. When you put it that way, I'm inclined to agree with you." Tilly remarked.

"Thank you, Tilly, Lilith. I'm too excited to care about anything."

Aside from Helix, the group still couldn't see the wagons.

They looked like ants in a desert mirage.

"What is that dust storm!?" Sia cried.

"Wait! Is this an attack! It's moving towards us fast!" Smith yelled.

"Woah! Calm down!" Helix laughed.

He was trying to quell the panic but couldn't help but laugh.

However, Helix saw three people jump out of the wagons and start bursting toward the group's direction with lightning speed.

"Those are my partners. They're just… fast…." Helix laughed.

The group looked at Helix with a terrified expression.

However, they couldn't think about it for long.

"Heeeeeelix!"

"Hellie!"

"Helix!"

Three crying voices entered their ears from a distance.

Helix casually walked into the center of the road.

"Aaaaahhhhhhh! Hellie! get out of the—"

Booooooom!

A huge dust cloud exploded in the center of the road.

"Oh my god! Helix!" Marie cried.

"I tripped! I didn't—Hellie!" Charlotte cried.

"Guhhhhh."

"I'm fine!" Helix laughed at top volume.

The women couldn't slow down with their insane momentum.

So when Helix casually walked into the road, Charlotte panicked and tripped while trying to slow down.

Everyone thought she killed Helix.

However, when the dust cleared, they saw him hugging her tightly.

"Wait, what—ohhhh."

Helix pressed his lips against hers for a second before releasing her.

In a daze, everyone stared at him with shock in their eyes.

They were speechless.

The townsfolk watched three women barrel into the area at 25 mph and crash down in front of them.

To Marie and Riley, Helix just survived a 25 mph collision and casually stood up.

Charlotte was shocked he kissed her afterward.

Helix turned his head to both sides to see his volunteers.

"This is where you clap and cheer to welcome my partners to Lexion." He chuckled.

A clap followed.

Then another.

A third.

Suddenly the entire area burst into applause and cheers.

Marie, Riley, and Charlotte turned their heads to stare at the people with baffled expressions.

"Ummmm. Hellie, what's going on?" Charlotte asked in a daze.

"Take a look behind them." Helix chuckled.

He nudged his head to his left.

"Wait. Paradeemas!" Charlotte cried.

"Marie, that way." Helix said while nudging his chin to the back left.

"Wait… Lillias…." She whispered.

"Riley." Helix nodded his head to his right.

"Filiers?" Riley whispered.

"Yup. These wonderful people helped acquire and transport full fields of your favorite flowers." Helix said with a warm smile.

"Not your real favorites, but the ones that are acquirable." Helix chuckled.

Marie, Charlotte, and Riley's eyes welled with tears.

"You…." Marie whispered.

"I'm speechless." Riley said with a low voice.

"This… is legendary, but…." Charlotte commented with a gentle grin.

"It's as cliche as it gets." Helix laughed.

"Since I've come here, we've been riddled with endless cliches."

The women looked at him with confused smiles.

"So I figured that I would treat you to the cliche you deserve."

Marie started sobbing and flew into Helix's arms.

He hugged her passionately.

Then reached up and wiped tears from her eyes with his thumb.

Helix lifted her face gently and kissed her for a moment with a passionate gaze.

Then he motioned for Riley to join the bear hug since Marie was unwilling to let go.

He gently caressed her face and kissed her lightly too.

Finally, Charlotte ran up and hugged them all aggressively.

The area burst into cheers and applause.

"Thank you, everyone." Helix said with true gratitude in his eyes.

Smiling nods followed.

"Ladies." Helix said with a warm smile.

They looked up at him with puffy eyes.

"My master and I got permission to do this." He chuckled with a mysterious smile.

"So please don't get any crazy ideas."

Helix unclasped his body from the three women and jumped back ten feet, shocking everyone.

Then he placed his hands on the ground, and a vibrant purple light washed over the area.

All of the flowers started glowing with a rainbow assortment of colors.

It was a vibrant, beautiful scene.

Then he turned around, and the area around his body was enveloped in a soothing green glow.

Two massive rock pillars shot out of the ground at a frightening speed.

A third massive ark of rock shot from either side, creating an archway.

Even those that knew about it were shocked and terrified for a moment.

However, they soon got out of their trance.

There was one 50-foot pillar on either side of the road.

"These will be chiseled into statues as entrance gates to the city of the city of Lexion!" Helix announced with a bold voice.

"We've worked with multiple guilds, stores, and the city to raise funds for the new entrance.

The archway and pillars were our contributions.

The archway was created by a Level 5, two-layer magic circle provided by the great Grandmaster Tilo Salazar and his humble apprentice.

It shows our love and gratitude to this city and the arrival of three beautiful women I love!"

Cheers erupted in the area.

The women didn't know what to think of the scene unfolding.

"This is lovely. Did Helix help create the circles?" Riley asked with awe in her eyes.

"Who cares! Hellie!" Charlotte cried.

Charlotte ran into Helix's arms again.

Marie snapped out of her daze and ran to his arms again, and Riley followed soon after.

Soon they were together again, and more cheers followed.

Helix introduced Marie, Charlotte, and Riley to all townsfolk and their drivers.

Everyone was festive and gave the group baked goods and other small gifts as welcome presents.

"I can't believe you made this scene…." Marie whispered.

"Hmmm? It'd be silly to waste these beautiful flowers when they can grow every year to honor your visit in style." Helix chuckled.

The womens' eyes sparkled, and then the three embraced him again.

"Come on, let's get back to our new home." Helix requested with a slight smile.

"The carriage drivers are arriving, and they might have a panic attack if we don't explain the situation."

The women turned around to find the wagon drivers arriving slowly with pale faces.

They would've stopped if the women weren't on the road and there weren't cheering people.

While Helix and Tilo created the pillars and archway for aesthetic purposes, they were lethal battle spells.

The group burst into laughter, and Helix gave them instructions into the city.

After they made it in front of the house, the three gasped.

Helix chuckled and helped unload all of their items.

There weren't many since they kept their belongings in their item storage and packed up their items before arrival.

Helix tipped the drivers with 100 gold each, shocking them speechless.

Then he provided them with pins to wear in the city, which would give them free food and drinks for the night.

"Thank you for bringing them here safely." Helix said with a warm smile.

The man and woman in both wagons nodded in a daze.

Before arrival, they were [already] paid a fortune and tipped by Marie, Charlotte, and Riley.

After Helix gave them gold, they were officially rich.

He gave the group directions to the caravan site to rest during their stay.

After they left, he turned to Marie, Charlotte, and Riley, still gasping at the small yet charming home.

"Marie, Charlotte, Riley…" Helix called out in a warm voice.

The three looked at him with tears of joy in their eyes.

"Welcome to our first home."
