Chapter 104: Holy Ground

The group swarmed out and scurried forward hurriedly.

However, they realized that it was a dead end.

“It’s a Mud Wall created by the mercenaries. Smash it and rush out. It’s very likely that we will face plenty of White Ghouls,” said the Guardian Of The Night that was pressing their hand against the wall.

Everyone turned to look at Hai Tianqing.

“The mercenary corps have huge advantages on this terrain. We have to rush out of the cave and fight with the White Ghouls here in order to release your strengths,” Hai Tianqing said to the two Guardians Of The Night. The team was not deliberately formed and was instead formed after they were split up by the mercenary corps and White Ghouls.

One of the Guardians Of The Night said, “As long as we can kill the mercenary corps, it’d be worth it, even if we end up dying in the hands of the White Ghouls.”

The other Guardian Of The Night nodded.

The Guardian Of The Night in front of the wall said, “Listen to Fourth Last, then. You call the shots now. Call me 192. I’m a Rules Awakened and my main role is co-control.”

The other Guardian Of The Night said, “178, melee, co-shield.”

Hai Tianqing nodded and said, “178, stand in front. Li Weiyi, Xia Yan, follow him and supply aid. Form a fan shape. 192, Han Jiangxue, stay in the center while I stay at the back.”

Han Jiangxue emptied out Sky Smasher and threw the four corpses on the ground, took out four Star Beads, and nodded gently.

“Why do they call you Fourth Last?” Xia Yan asked gently while following Hai Tianqing closely.

Hai Tianqing, who had left an Imprint on everyone, remained silent for a while before saying, “Because I belong to the weakest team.”

Right before 178 punched his Green Glow-filled fist against the Mud Wall, he said in a low voice, “The Guardians Of The Night tagged with numbers are the chasers. None of them are weak.”

Everyone got a great shock. Indeed, Hai Tianqing was a Guardian Of The Night!

When they were in prison and Hai Tianqing called the tall man “Captain”, everyone had already begun suspecting them.

While they were speaking, 178 punched the Mud Wall in front and opened up a passageway, after which they were greeted with the sight of a ground full of White Ghoul corpses.

It seemed that the White Ghouls had dashed in together with the mercenary corps. After their route was destroyed, they didn’t have anyone to kill, so they began to fight each other internally.

Staring at the bloodied scene, he wondered, How long have they been fighting?

Everyone quickly collected the Star Beads and advanced forward. While picking the Star Beads, he finally saw a few moving figures at the door.

178 dashed up immediately.

He and Second Last belonged to different kinds of teams. They were Guardians Of The Night who often stayed in the snowfield and were familiar with both the geographical shape of the region and the White Ghoul Witches and White Ghouls.

Killing low-level White Ghouls would be a piece of cake for them.

They finally rushed out and managed to see the light of day again.

Well, the description was not accurate, because the sky was dim. Although the stars were shining, nothing could be seen clearly, and the flashing aurora in the sky was the only thing that could brighten the place.

When Han Jiangxue exited, to her horror, she realized that they had already arrived in the mountains.

Beneath her was a spectacular scene.

The numerous closely-packed White Ghouls were like locusts filling the entire valley below. Fights broke out all the time.

It was the most common scene in Holy Ground.

Even if the two armies did not rush in, the White Ghouls would be hurt all the time.

However, their numbers did not decrease at all. In fact, the number of killings increased. Because plenty of White Ghouls appeared with White Ghoul Witches from time to time.

If there was only one White Ghoul Witch with a group of White Ghouls, the chances of a fight breaking out would be reduced greatly. The White Ghouls would surround the White Ghoul Witch and dash out of the Holy Ground in an orderly manner.

After a large number of White Ghouls had left, a few White Ghoul Witches brought their underlings out of the valley and spread to the corners of the snowfield.

Feeding on the corpses of the same breed, they seemed extremely brutal and dauntless.

The scene there was much more chaotic, and the large number of White Ghouls that had rushed into the snowfield did not leave and instead attacked the invaders.

Or perhaps, they were not that conscious of the territory. In fact, they did not seem like they were defending and were instead, attacking hysterically.

Every White Ghoul was hunter and prey at the same time. Whenever other races appeared, the first thing they would do would be to kill them.

Mud walls were suddenly built in the valley and a clear path was formed.

Amidst the wave of White Ghouls, mud mazes were formed from time to time, constantly approaching the center of the valley.

It was named the Holy Ground.

The valley that was surrounded by the mountains contained some tiny mountains at the bottom. The mountains were surrounded by caves and the White Ghouls were rushing out continuously.

Traffic was heavy enough.

The White Ghouls outside were not willing to leave Holy Ground to look for a place for lodging. Instead, they wanted to destroy humans. Hence, the White Ghouls rushing out seemed to have stopped for a while.

The White Ghouls could easily trample and kill everyone.

However, the mercenary corps had clearly come prepared. Their Mud Walls were strong yet flexible. Hence, they created a muddy passageway that led to the middle of the Holy Ground.

“These are all just to get us involved. They have the ability to open up a tunnel underground. Perhaps they have already rushed into the Holy Ground now and are beginning to cut off the space-time channel.”

“We can only pray that those White Ghouls will persist on,” 178 said angrily.

They could not enter the Holy Ground at all with so many White Ghouls guarding menacingly.

It would be hard for them to even stay alive, let alone rush in.

The group of White Ghouls discovered that the team on the mountains had already begun yelling and were rushing in.

192, the Rules Awakened Guardian Of The Night, suddenly said, “I can blow all of you into the Holy Ground on that mountain. You guys might be able to block the mercenaries, but you might also die there.”

Everyone’s heart sank.

Han Jiangxue and the rest were not Guardians Of The Night and were just students. Although they were also Chinese nationals, they wouldn’t sacrifice their lives like the Guardians Of The Night.

“I still have a younger brother whom I have to take care of,” said Han Jiangxue.

Her words were simple, but they could no longer bother to analyze them. All they knew was that Han Jiangxue was against it.

The Guardians Of The Night could get used to death and take it lightly, but they could not ask others to do the same.

Strictly speaking, the Guardians Of The Night were not allowed to ask the students to do so, and instead, had to protect them.

It was the same for the soldiers of China and the policeman.

While speaking, they suddenly saw a figure shuttle through the sea of White Ghouls before galloping on top of them.

Its slender figure made it seem like a cheetah that was light and flexible. With its limbs stretched, it stepped on the head and shoulders of the White Ghouls and moved past them.

A White Ghoul tried to reach out and grab the figure in a bid to leap up and intercept it.

However, the absolute difference in power made their actions useless because the figure was way too quick and nimble. In the blink of an eye, it had already moved away from the foot of the mountain in the West.

Xia Yan’s pupil constricted and she exclaimed in shock, “Xiaopi!?!”

192 quivered agitatedly and asked, “Second Last!?!”
