Chapter 120: Studying Medicine

Jiang Xiao was at peace again when he returned to school.

The sense of security he felt came from within his soul. He had continuously switched identities between being a soldier and an ordinary student. Jiang Xiao finally knew why most of the Awakened students didn’t do well in cultural subjects.

Although the examination papers for the Awakened students were not that difficult, it was still hard for them to stay focused while juggling two identities.

For young and fickle-minded teenagers, in particular, the magical and amazing Star Techniques were far more attractive than cultural lessons.

Jiang Xiao, Xia Yan, and Han Jiangxue managed to catch everyone’s attention from the moment they entered the school compound. When they entered the classroom, they were greeted with enthusiastic applause and cheering.

Jiang Xiao and his teammates were just lucky to have survived, but in the eyes of others, they were like heroes.

To the High School students, coming out of the dangerous Dimensional Space alive and returning to school for lessons was considered a heroic act.

Jiang Xiao felt a little guilty and touched at the same time.

The morning lesson was about the geography of Dimensional Spaces, which required a ton of memory work.

After class, Jiang Xiao heard the voice of one of his male classmates when he was carefully reading a book about the geography of the Volcanic Dimensional Space. “Li Weiyi, someone’s looking for you.”

A tall girl with long legs standing outside the classroom of Class 1 hurriedly said, “Not him. I’m looking for Jiang Xiaopi.”

“Huh?” The male classmate was a little stunned. He was well aware that the girl was Li Qingmei, Li Weiyi’s childhood sweetheart. Hence, when he saw Li Qingmei standing at the door of the classroom, he automatically assumed that she was looking for Li Weiyi.

Yet, it turned out that Li Qingmei was not there to look for Li Weiyi.

Wow, is there some story?

The male classmate smiled mysteriously and turned to yell into the classroom, “Li Weiyi, you don’t have to come out. Jiang Xiaopi, hurry and come here. Li Qingmei is looking for you.”

All of a sudden, everyone turned to look at Jiang Xiao, who was studying hard.

As soon as Li Weiyi stood up, he froze awkwardly, while his classmates shot him looks of sympathy.

Li Weiyi put a hand on his forehead and sat slowly.

Jiang Xiao scratched his head and turned to look at Li Weiyi curiously. “Li Weiyi, stand up and go with me.”

Li Weiyi shook his head and said, “No, she’s not looking for me.”

Jiang Xiao stepped forward and pulled Li Weiyi up. “Go with me and give me some courage.”

“Two silly boys,” Xia Yan remarked. She was seated in the last row, opposite Han Jiangxue and diagonally behind Jiang Xiao.

Xia Yan stepped on the desk with one foot while the legs of the stool swayed. She watched as Jiang Xiao dragged Li Weiyi away.

Han Jiangxue also smiled, watching Jiang Xiao shove Li Weiyi out of the classroom and using him as a shield.

Li Qingmei looked at the people who came out and said with dissatisfaction, “You refused to pick up my calls or reply my messages on WeChat. What do you want!?!”

Li Weiyi touched his nose awkwardly. Although his girlfriend was speaking to him, he knew that she was referring to Jiang Xiaopi.

Jiang Xiao had grown taller by two centimeters and had already reached a height of 1.74 meters. However, the tall and mighty Li Weiyi was 1.87 meters tall, more than enough to block Jiang Xiao.

“It doesn’t matter what I want, what matters is what you want,” Jiang Xiao said as he popped his head out.

“I want to thank you, of course. What else can it be?” Li Weiyi pressed her hand against the door frame and stared at Jiang Xiao.

“Don’t lie to me. Why don’t I feel like you’re really thanking me?” Jiang Xiao asked with a peculiar expression.

“Imp, why do you have so much nonsense to say?” Li Qingmei then raised her head and looked at Li Weiyi. “Move aside.”

“Okay.” Li Weiyi held onto Jiang Xiao’s shoulder and pushed him forward.

Li Weiyi was really gracious!

Not only did he push Jiang Xiao out, but he also closed the door of the classroom too.

He gave Jiang Xiao and the students a great shock.

The boys in the classroom found Li Weiyi to be easygoing!

“Hey, I really want to thank you.” Li Qingmei held the door with one hand and leaned forward. She then looked down at Jiang Xiao and said, “You know how powerful your Blessing is. It’s really unforgettable.”

“Uh...” Jiang Xiao scratched his head, realizing that he had been surrounded.

Jiang Xiao was indeed very mischievous, but he would only be so with a select group of people.

He would never be a homewrecker.

Jiang Xiao could be frivolous and crack all sorts of jokes with Li Weiyi since they were friends and teammates.

However, he would never go overboard with Li Qingmei.

“What exactly do you want? Back off, the teacher is going to arrive soon,” Jiang Xiao said.

“I’ve been in a terrible physical state the past few days and I wanted you to heal me.” Li Qingmei had a look of displeasure on her face as if Jiang Xiao had committed a grave mistake by being absent when she needed help the most.

“You can just say so. This is not a valid reason. Besides, you can just look for another Medical Awakened. Don’t lie. The lesson is about to begin soon.” Jiang Xiao chided.

“Do you think there are Medical Awakened everywhere? Do you think I can find one easily?” Li Qingmei said arrogantly. She then moved forward and continued softly, “After receiving a Blessing from you, I searched about it on the internet and discovered that your Star Technique will heal all ailments.”

Jiang Xiao shook his head again and said, “How is that exaggerated? I was just helping you guys recover physically.”

“I had been waiting outside Jiannan Village previously and had a hectic schedule. I’m mentally and physically exhausted. My eyes are glassed over and I’ve turned pale too. Will you help me out? My body is recovering too slowly and I feel disgusted when I look at nutritional meals now. I’m already in Year Three, so I have very little time. Yet, I have to wake up early and put on some makeup before I leave.”

You’re already in Year Three and you barely have enough time. Why do you still have the energy and time to bother about your appearance?

Hah, women.

After thinking about it, Jiang Xiao agreed. “No problem. Don’t you drive home with Li Weiyi after school every night? Wait for me at the car park. I’ll give you another Blessing before you go home. You should see the results after several consecutive days.”

“Well... okay. By the way, don’t tell Li Weiyi that my complexion is horrible now. He can’t tell that I put on some makeup. He thinks I’m still the same,” Li Qingmei said eagerly.

Extremely stunned, Jiang Xiao scrutinized her face and asked, “You have makeup on?”

Li Qingmei was speechless.

Jiang Xiao scratched his head awkwardly and said, “Alright. I’ll just tell him that you’re feeling unwell. I won’t tell him that you’re really ugly.”

“Ugly!?! I just look pale and dull.” Li Qingmei retorted fiercely. However, she immediately thought of the fact that she was asking him for help and so continued with a smile, “The reason you’re giving me a Blessing tonight is that I have a tummy ache.”

“Fine, fine. It’s just a trivial matter and yet, you’re being so secretive about it.” Jiang Xiao shook his head and thought, Indeed, women are obsessed with their beauty.

“Xiaopi, you’re the best,” said the 1.8-meter tall Li Qingmei, who threw her arms around Jiang Xiao and kissed his head. She smiled sweetly and said, “See you tonight.”

Jiang Xiao scratched his head.

Am I like a younger brother to everyone?

Am I the legendary youngest of younger brothers?

Am I not manly at all?

Why did she kiss my head?

Jiang Xiao watched Li Qingmei leave happily, and the tightly shut door was suddenly opened again. Li Weiyi held Jiang Xiao’s shoulder and asked, “Why did she look for you?”

After snapping out of his trance, Jiang Xiao muttered, “What else was it for? Did you forget what my nickname is?”

“Toxic Healer?” Li Weiyi asked, feeling taken aback.

“What else?” Jiang Xiao continued.

Li Weiyi gave it some thought and thought about the time that Jiang Xiao gave Su Rou a Blessing on his first day.

Li Weiyi was suddenly enlightened and he finally knew why Li Qingmei constantly refused to tell him the reason that she was looking for Jiang Xiao. “Sacred gynecologist?”

Jiang Xiao snapped his fingers and said, “You’re smart, kid. Learn about medicine from me.”

Li Weiyi said helplessly, “If I had the potential of being a Medical Awakened, would she have come to see you?”

Jiang Xiao nodded and said, “Yeah, don’t bother even if you’re cut out for it.”

Li Weiyi asked, “Why?”

Jiang Xiao sighed and said, “Studying medicine won’t save the people in China...”

Li Weiyi remained silent.
