Chapter 140: Two Little Brats

The halo of Nostalgia was a great thing to have. During normal competitions, such as the upcoming semi-finals of the Beijiang Province High School League, the students would not be allowed to use Star Beads to restore their Star Power when two teams were going against each other.

A proper competition was not as casual as the competition held during the military training. During such times, the effects of the Star Technique Nostalgia would be particularly prominent!

Feeling extremely excited and agitated, Jiang Xiao and his team walked out of the forest and were greeted with the sight of the red flag flying high.

They reckoned that it was a residential area with more than ten wooden huts. Just like the ones in the snowfield, the guardians here were all Chinese soldiers, though dressed differently. Their green military uniforms made everyone feel rather safe and secure.

After a brief discussion with the soldiers, Hai Tianqing led the few students into a large, outrageously simple wooden hut. It was just like a military bunk.

They opened the door and entered, after which they looked to see two rows of bunk beds, five on the left and five on the right. There were no tables and chairs either.

The entire place was also spotless, clean, and tidy.

With such a layout and arrangement, is it really appropriate to have our meals in bed?

There were no other teams in the room. Han Jiangxue took out the military backpack from her Sky Smasher and tossed it at Jiang Xiao, gesturing for him to prepare the food.

While everyone was feeling hopeful and full of anticipation, she took out the Star Bead from the Savage Sorcerer.

“I’m so excited~,” Xia Yan remarked as she clenched her fist and placed it in front of her chest while glancing at Han Jiangxue seated on the bed.

Han Jiangxue glanced at Xia Yan and stayed still while pinching the Star Bead in her hand. A few seconds later, the Star Bead was crushed and dissipated into specs of stardust, which then flowed into Han Jiangxue’s body.

Jiang Xiao sat on the ground and took out a water bottle and four combat ration packs which contained lentil and beef fried rice. He then poured some water into a heating bag and set it in place.

Jiang Xiao took out a small army knife from the side pocket of the military backpack and used it to open a can of braised pork. When he placed the jelly-like piece of pork fat into his mouth, he heard Han Jiangxue sigh.

“It’s alright, Jiangxue. This is only the first day. We still have two more days,” Xia Yan said as she leaned closer to Han Jiangxue and comforted gently. “Besides, this is our first time at the arsenal. The school has stated that we will be coming here to train a few times.”

Jiang Xiao shoved another piece of braised pork into his mouth and suddenly felt like he was rather open-minded. The sight of the humanoid corpses was still vivid in his head, but he could already eat braised pork without any qualms.

“Little imp, all you do is eat. Don’t you know how to comfort your sister?” Xia Yan chided in dissatisfaction when she saw Jiang Xiao feasting on the ground.

“You’re comforting her, aren’t you? If nothing works, we’ll just go buy some Star Beads from the business firms. The Star Beads of the Savage Sorcerers are not very expensive, right? We’ve harvested plenty of Star Beads from the spearmen, swordsmen, and female Archers. Yet, we’re afraid that the Star Techniques in those Star Beads will fill up our star slot, so we don’t dare to use them to restore Star Power. What’s the point of keeping them, then? Just sell them.”

Xia Yan nodded and said while seeming to be deep in thought, “That’s a feasible solution. Count on me to get this done.

Han Jiangxue shook her head and said, “Besides, we should be able to fight.”.

Jiang Xiao glanced at Xia Yan and asked, “How much can a female Archer’s Star Bead be sold for?”

Xia Yan seemed unaware of the market prices for the female Archer Star Beads. To her, the Arsenal was too far away. She turned around to look at Hai Tianqing.

“It’s about 500 yuan, but it may be lower,” Hai Tianqing said casually. “I haven’t paid attention to the market prices for a long time. I’ll try to find out when we go back.”

Jiang Xiao thought to himself, Impressive.

How much is the entry ticket to the Arsenal?

At least six figures and above, right?

The Star Beads of the female Archer and swordsmen are all of Silver Quality. Yet, they’re only worth so little money.

Does nobody like Sharp Claws, Sharp Fangs, and Resentment?

Oh, right.

Although the Star Beads are of Silver Quality, the Star Techniques are of Brass Quality. Hence, the effects are mediocre and can only be used as Star Techniques for building the foundation.

Silver Quality Star Beads would be a good choice for supplementing Star Power, but it couldn’t be helped that their number of start slots was limited.

For example, Jiang Xiao’s teammates dared not use those Star Beads to replenish their Star Power, for fear that a Brass Quality Star Technique would occupy a star slot.

In Beijiang, where Green Glow was very popular, all the other Star Techniques that began with Brass Quality seemed to have become redundant spare tires.

Going to the Arsenal seemed to offer no benefit for the Awakened?

Only those not short of money would actually bother going to the Arsenal for the sake of building a strong team rapport, right?

Jiang Xiao’s heart skipped a bcat and he asked, “How much does each Savage Sorceress StarBead cost?”

Hai Tianqing thought about it and said, “I’m not too sure, either. After all, those Star Beads contain Silver Quality Star Techniques. However, the Star Technique Nostalgia isn’t too outstanding. It’s hard to estimate the price.”

Jiang Xiao nodded. In fact, regardless of the price, it was basically difficult to purchase the Star Bead, given Jiang Xiao’s current financial status.

Xia Yan’s a rich girl, however.

Why don’t... I get intimate with her?

On one hand, I can turn her straight. On the other hand, I can save Han Jiangxue from her misery.

That’s killing two birds with one stone!

Jiang Xiao picked up the warm lentil and beef fried rice and couldn’t help but fall deep into thought as he started to contemplate.

After a feast of Chinese combat ration, everyone laid in bed to take a nap that lasted for more than two hours.

However, apart from Hai Tianqing who was really sleeping, the four students were all absorbing Star Power.

Jiang Xiao also discovered that to his dismay, he had really become a younger brother.

Han Jiangxue, who was lying on the bed beside his, was just like a black hole. After entering the late Nebula Stage, her White Flames Star Map seemed to have become a giant beast that devoured all of the Star Power around her.

The situation of Li Weiyi, who was sleeping on the bed on his right, wasn’t that intense, but he was much better than Jiang Xiao.

Jiang Xiao was not angry, but he almost put his precious Skill Points on the Basic Technique. Ten minutes after the Star Power Abundance was replenished, he sat up helplessly and scratched his head, before finally getting out of bed.

Jiang Xiao came out of the wooden hut and sat beside the door frame. He was finally away from the menacing beasts in the hut and could finally absorb Star Power in peace.

Moreover, the sunlight in the spot where he was seated was great. He could see a dense forest not too far away from him and the air was very fresh. The entire ambiance was rather rejuvenating.

Two hours later, Xia Yan was the first to come out.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw Jiang Xiao sitting on the ground and leaning against the wall of the wooden hut pitifully as if he was aggrieved.

Xia Yan burst into laughter and said, “Hehe, your day has come.”

Jiang Xiao shook his head awkwardly.

Xia Yan squatted down and moved her lips close to Jiang Xiao’s ear. She then whispered, “Didn’t you say that you want to always be with your sister? What’s going to happen to you in the future? When you’re beside her, you can’t even absorb Star Power.”

Jiang Xiao was dumbfounded.

Xia Yan smirked and said with a peculiar arrogance, “Give up, I will stay by your sister’s side in the future.”

Xia Yan looked in astonishment as Jiang Xiao suddenly yelled, “Xia Yan! Don’t kiss me! Go away! You’re out of your mind!”

Xia Yan was dumbfounded.

Bang!

The door of the wooden house was kicked open and Han Jiangxue came out with a sullen expression, only to see that Jiang Xiao was struggling to get up while Xia Yan was about to pounce on him.

“Sis! She kissed me!” Jiang Xiao yelled while pointing at Xia Yan.

People tended to become the most annoying version of themselves in the end.

Jiang Xiao finally told on her!

Xia Yan pointed at Jiang Xiao in shock and was too infuriated to speak coherently. She spluttered, “You... you...”

Han Jiangxuc looked at Jiang Xiao and remarked, “I know what you are like.”

Jiang Xiao scratched his head and murmured, “Uh..”

Xia Yan finally felt much more relieved and less infuriated. However, she said indignantly, “I knew it. Jiangxue, you’re understanding.”

Han Jiangxue shot Xia Yan a cold glance and repeated, “I know what you’re like.”

Xia Yan scratched her head and said, “Um...”

Li Weiyi grabbed Jiang Xiao’s and Xia Yan’s giant swords. As soon as he walked out of the door, he saw the scene ofthe two of them being chided as if they were students and Han Jiangxue was the class teacher.

Xia Yan and Jiang Xiao were particularly obedient-looking... Uh, they looked rather well-behaved.

Li Weiyi slipped into self-doubt and wondered, Is this the team that I selected out of the many and painstakingly tried to get into?

“Let’s go, we only have two days.” Han Jiangxue ordered.

Jiang Xiao and Xia Yan answered softly, “Oh.”

Li Weiyi remained silent.
