Chapter 5480 Netherdragon Tianfeng
Chapter 5480 Netherdragon Tianfeng
Amidst the oppressive black qi of the Netherworld, shadowy figures emerged from the spatial gate one by one, like reapers of hell. Cloaked in frigid auras, they exuded immense dragon might and vast Blood Qi. Yet, their presence ignited an uncontrollable fury within the experts of the dragon race.
These were Netherdragons—traitors to dragonkind. Their very existence was a stain on the dragon race’s honor, an eternal wound etched into the bloodlines of every true dragon. By dragon law, Netherdragons were to be hunted down and destroyed the moment they were discovered.
The betrayal of the Netherdragon race dated back to the primal chaos era, but the specifics of their treachery had been long since forgotten. All that remained was the unyielding hatred: Netherdragons were unforgivable, and their annihilation was the duty of every true dragon.
For them to openly appear in the Dragon Domain was the greatest insult to the entire dragon race. Seeing them, Mo Ying and the others shook with fury. They clenched their weapons tightly, ready to strike at any moment.
This was the true Netherdragon race. Unlike the Netherdragons Long Chen had encountered before, these beings were shrouded in the laws of the Netherworld. Their auras triggered the most primal hatred of the dragon race.
“Big words,” Long Chen sneered. “Let’s see if you can back them up.”
As the Netherdragons continued to emerge from the eight spatial gates, their numbers grew to over twice those of the Dragon Domain’s experts. Their formation parted, revealing a man in a black crown and golden belt. When he walked out, everyone could see an ominous black dragon spear on his back.
Mo Yang and the others’ pupils shrunk when this man appeared. This man carried a thick aura of primal chaos, marking him as a being sealed away from an era older than their own.
Most frightening of all, every step he took was accompanied by the blossoming of black lotuses, manifestations of Netherworld laws. His aura exuded divine authority.
“This one is strong,” muttered Mo Yang, his battle-hardened instincts flaring. The more formidable the foe, the more his blood burned for battle.
That man stepped forward like an imperial regent, exuding powerful divine pressure. Seeing a group of half-step Dragon Emperors following behind him reverently, everyone knew that his status was not ordinary.
The black-haired man stopped and surveyed the Dragon Domain with cold disdain. His gaze finally landed on Long Chen, and a contemptuous smile crept across his face.
He asked, “You’re the only human here. Are you Long Chen?”
The mention of Long Chen startled the Dragon Domain’s experts. How did this figure know him?
“If you have something to say, spit it out. No need for stupid questions when you already know the answer,” replied Long Chen indifferently.
“Your Majesty, allow me to tear his insolent mouth apart before you waste another word on him,” growled one of the half-step Dragon Emperors at the black-haired man’s side.
“No rush,” the black-haired man said, raising his hand to stop his follower. “Is the Emperor Blood Silk Net in your hands?”
Long Chen’s eyes flickered with surprise. He had almost forgotten about that artifact, which had fused with Evilmoon. According to Evilmoon, it was not something it could fully refine.
“That’s right. It’s in my hands,” replied Long Chen.
“Hand it over.”
“Call me daddy.”
“What?” The man blinked, clearly unprepared for such a response.
“If you’re not my child, why should I give it to you? So call me daddy first,” Long Chen explained, his tone mockingly kind.
“Courting death!” the man roared, his voice reverberating through the heavens. “From ancient times until now, none have dared toy with me, Netherdragon Tianfeng. Do you wish to endure the nether flame soul refinement torture of my race?”
His furious shout carried supreme heavenly might, shaking the very souls of all present.
Mo Ying and the others’ expressions changed. The Netherworld qi pouring from the eight spatial gates had started corrupting the laws of the Dragon Domain.
Netherdragon Tianfeng himself radiated an oppressive aura of the Netherworld’s laws. This energy amplified the heavenly might in his voice.
With the support of these invasive laws, the Netherdragon race could unleash their full power, while the Dragon Domain experts would face constant disruption from the foreign energy. They would definitely be at a disadvantage.
These eight spatial gates were not ordinary. They were in a formation, extracting the power of the Netherworld to turn the Dragon Domain into a part of the Netherworld.
Earlier, the little trickle of Netherworld qi had gone unnoticed, too weak to alter the domain’s laws significantly. But now, it had become a massive pain in the butt.
“Enough with the boasting,” said Long Chen, curling his lips in disdain. “You talk about ancient times, but the truth is, you’ve just been lucky not to meet someone like me before. If you had, you wouldn’t still be around to brag.”
Netherdragon Tianfeng sneered, “Foolish human, speaking with you is a waste of time. If you refuse to hand over the Emperor Blood Silk Net, I’ll beat it out of you.”
As Netherdragon Tianfeng reached back and grabbed his spear, Nether qi exploded out of him. All the Netherdagon experts instantly shifted into combat formation.
“Hold it!”
Ying Changkong’s voice rang out abruptly, cutting through the tense atmosphere. Stepping forward, he spoke to Mo Ying and the others. “Think clearly. Long Chen is the cause of all this. As long as you hand him over, the calamity will end. Are you going to throw away countless lives of our kin for a single human? Is he worth it?”
“Shut your fucking mouth!” roared Xie Qianzhong, unable to contain his fury. “You’ve already sided with the Netherdragon race! You’ve betrayed the dragon race, yet you dare spout such nonsense to us? Do you think we’re fools?!”
Even a fool could see that battle was inevitable, yet Ying Changkong still wanted them to hand over Long Chen? His plea for compromise was nothing short of an insult to their intelligence.
“Listen to me!” exclaimed Ying Changkong, his voice tinged with desperation.
Observing Ying Changkong’s increasingly frantic expression, Long Chen felt a jolt of unease.
Something is off.
The next moment, Long Chen’s instincts took over, and he leaped backward. Just as he did, a dragon claw materialized in midair, flying right past his nose. Its razor-sharp edges grazed his chest, tearing through flesh but missing his vital spot.
“Courting death!”
Mo Ying and the others were shocked and enraged. Even with their cultivation base, they hadn’t sensed the sneak attack. Fortunately, Long Chen had reacted fast enough, or he would have been gravely injured—or worse.
BOOM!
Mo Ying, Xie Qianzhong, Chi Yue, and the other race leaders launched a joint counterattack, their combined might slamming into the claw. Yet, to their horror, the claw withstood their assault and forced them backward with terrifying ease.
“What?!”
Gasps of disbelief rippled through the onlookers. Even the united strength of the race leaders had failed to shake the claw.
With a sinister twist, the claw surged forward once more, its target still Long Chen. This time, it radiated an overwhelming dragon might—the full, oppressive power of a Dragon Emperor.
“Dragon Emperor!”
Startled cries rang out as they realized the cultivation base of this claw’s master.
