Vol. 1


– Lil and Cesar are in a relationship.


– The necklace Lil wears is a family heirloom from the Duke of Mireille.


– Lil and Ed are both from the Northern continent.


– All three main characters were students of the Lebrun military academy. josei


– Admiral Retiro has a bad relationship/reputation with the emperor and the nobility.


– Cesar is a former navy captain.


– The Garni merchant ships that trade in slaves belongs to Duke Mireille.


– Lil suffers from nightmares.


– Lil is extremely wary of Ed but doesn’t know he’s the Admiral. She thinks he’s a spy for the fleet.


– Between the mainland and the northern continent lies the Monferrand Strait, a deadly sea only crossable by a Retiro descendant.


– Ed is a legit doctor with a degree.


– Ed travelled alone to Amiaeng, but his fleet lay waiting.


– Even though Cesar knows the identity of Ed, he chooses to keep it a secret for Lil. It still is unclear as to why, so this is a bit of speculation from our side. But we think it’s a combination of keeping Lil’s peace of mind and being in control over Lil and the situation.


– Ed may have travelled to the South by request of the duke, but he isn’t planning on following the duke’s will.


Vol. 2


– Cesar discovers that Ed is starting to develop feelings for Lil.


– Lil and Cesar contemplated killing Ed when he was in a coma. In the end they reasoned they couldn’t just kill someone like that when he saved Lil’s life.


– Lil cares a lot about the crew and the ship, whereas Cesar doesn’t. Cesar’s first priority is Lil’s safety and not that of the sailors.


– Rewards of the Bell Rock are used as funds for the island of Panichi.


– The League’s standpoint about the upcoming war is to lay low and don’t engage first.


– Marchand was seized by the Navy. This battle ended in a massacre and almost all the native inhabitants were either murdered or enslaved as an example for other islands.


Vol. 3


– The oil used to attract messenger pigeons was among the medicines Cesar took from Ed.


– The necklace Lil’s wearing probably belongs to Forma, the goddess of beauty.


– The wearer of the necklace doesn’t get to see the change. So it’s unknown if Ed indeed changed or not.


– Most of the pirates of the League don’t like Lil too much, due to her being of mixed blood and they look down on her because she rules without the whip.


– Lil didn’t become a captain through the traditional means (votation), but because she already had a ship of her own.


– Throughout the whole volume, cracks in the relationship between Lil and Cesar become more visible. Their fights are mostly about their different beliefs.


– Before boarding the ship, Cesar informs Courant that he suspects that one of the sailors keeps sneaking into his cabin to search for something. After this, Courant treats Ed with utmost hostility.


– Mermaids have silvery bluish skin and blue hair. Their eyes are black with blue irises and their eyebrows contain 3 thick sensory hairs. They have human-like features but they’re less sharp. Also for them to be able to see in the dark, mermaids have the ability to emit light.


– Mermaids communicate with sign language and Goe.


– Mermaids and humans can have children together. The mermaid gene is in this exchange the most dominant one, so the children will be born in the shape of a mermaid with more human-like features.


– Bell Rock is the most popular mermaid known to men. She’s of mixed blood.

– Duke Mireille intends to capture mermaids to boast his status within the empire and strengthen his relationship with the emperor.
