Chapter 2174 Creating a Legend
Chapter 2174 Creating a Legend
Upon looking at how the Celestials were coping rather well and their only complaint was that there were no proper beds for them to lie on, Jin had finally concluded that they should be on their way within a week.
At the same time, the humans who hated the Celestials because of the narrative started to show signs of change the moment Jin decided that they were not the bad guys at all.
It was a bit hard since there were some who still harboured some dislike or maybe even hate to the Celestials especially when those higher beings were able to resurrect while their relatives or kin were killed and never to come back.
Jin also understands that it was a tall order to suddenly change their 'preferences' in facing the Celestials within a day, much less in an hour since they barely got caught in a firefight that lasted for days. So many explosions, deaths and the smell of gunpowder that Lyro was nothing more than just a graveyard.
At the very least, the Celestials did not make fun of the humans and also assisted the corpse collection team with their dead. The use of Celestial magic not only cleans the corpses, but the Celestials also aided the corpse collection team in putting the body back as much as they could.
Of course, if there were Celestial Beasts within the midst of the battle, it was possible they were chewed up or had been blasted by friendly fire explosions so it was impossible to get 100% of the corpses.
And it was also because of this assistance with the corpse collection team that the humans started to see the Celestials in a better light. Their enemies were able to drop all pretences of hate and anger with a command by their higher ups and even turned friendly to the point that they offered their services to aid the humans.
That was how Jin had acted and yet there were many who could not see past it until they saw the way the Celestials had performed. And so, more of their deeds were spread across the humans, and though many still maintained their cynicism, they were willing to give a chance and enact the way their King did as well.
But putting that aside, by the time Jin had inspected Lyro Sea Fortress or whatever that remained after the battle, the military had already assembled enough resources for Jin to recreate about 15-20% of the previous Capital of Ress.
Even though the first to rebuild was a neighbourhood, the subsequent ones had been hospitals and aid stations since they were in dire need of medical help and a proper chain of food distribution now that the war was over.
And what's more, the Celestials who were abled, especially the ones led by Siddhartha Buddha, had also decided to provide aid to the humans even though Jin was the one who suggested that the humans should be the gracious host and provide help to the Celestials instead.
Yet, none of the humans rejected the hand offered by the Celestials and with the rumour that the Celestials were also doing their part to help the humans, even those unwilling or reluctant gave way to allow them to treat their injured.
Slowly but surely, the Celestials who were supposed to be the good guys had finally acted like the good guys even though they had been the ones who were brandishing their weapons like wild barbarians. Jin believed that the Celestials might have been kind all this while but it was due to their generosity that they might have been taken advantage of.
(Peppers on the other hand begged to differ since she had a separate story which she refused to share when she was in the Celestial Plane trying to find Jin's body.) So in order to keep things in order, most Celestials would rather kill things first and ask later, especially for the battle divisions where divine order was more important to the Dashavataras or when Lord Vishnu had suddenly disappeared with no reason.
So, now that they know that Lord Vishnu not only endorsed these humans but also saw how Ress was able to kill the Celestials with ease, they believed that they could be a trustworthy ally as long as they do not do anything else to harm the Celestials in the long run.
Of course, seeing how Jin had handled them, they believed that would not be an issue in the short term but at the same time, the King of Ress did say that once he left this world, this epic battle with the Celestials would also fade away with time, becoming a legend that their future descendants will hear about.
Till then, both the Celestials and Jin felt that there should be no problems allowing the generation of short life beings to learn the existence of both Gods and Demons.
Thus, with the Celestials' assistance in the post war recovery for Ress, Jin was also able to push for a massive memorial given that his responsibilities were shared with the Celestials and this gave the citizens of Ress proper time to mourn.
He then gave the kingdom two new holidays for subsequent years as proposed by the System as deep down, Jin also wanted to be remembered even though he knew that this seven day war would eventually become a legend or just a paragraph in the history books.
This way, the people would commemorate the deaths of those who had fallen in this great battle as well as remember mythical beings such as the Dashavataras and possibly their great King of Ress who made all of this a reality.
After all, once the aftermath of this particular war had been done and dusted, Jin would definitely return to his world to prepare for the next stage of his career.
As the days passed by, he could not see anything but benefits to properly invade the Mecha World to learn their potential tech, get good Mecha footage to sell and ultimately, bring the best dungeon supplying experience for not just the Celestials in the future but also his customers in various homeworlds.
