Chapter 416 The Winners And The Losers.

Chapter 416 The Winners And The Losers.

416  The Winners And The Losers.

"And we have our winners for the first speed test!"

"Wave your tentacles to congratulate 3 of ours who succeeded in clinging first to third place spot, Meuer, Moron, and Meg!"

"Yaaa!!!" "Hooo!!!" "Yeee!!!"

The overenthusiastic Mana Lords made weird sounds that echoed like screeches to Sebastian as they celebrated their 3 brothers who won the first speed test, succeeding in taking the awards home.

As they celebrated with their voices, so also did they celebrate with their tentacles as the massive tentacles that made up their frames waved dangerously in the air like flags of death.

Sebastian shuddered on seeing this display, once again, his impression of these giant creatures of nature was reinforced.

At 20 meters, he already saw himself as gigantic before but the Mana Lords reinvented his impression of the word gigantic. Some of these guys simply left him in the dust in terms of gigantism, there was no comparison.

While he thought, the voice of the massive Mana Lord that hovered on top of one of the numerous floating giant rocks spoke up again.

"As for our top 500 winners, let's congratulate 474 of ours who succeeded in climbing high against all odds and making it to these exalted ranks".

"Wave your tentacles to congratulate Mina, Movor, Mrean, Mario, Mago, Magico, Manalin, Manavin, Miolin…"

It was during this announcement that Sebastian finally noticed the weirdness. For some strange reason, every single one of the Mana Lords that he had met and heard their names till this point all had a name that started with M.

He took note of that, perhaps this naming sense was because they were called Mana Lords but he guessed that this alphabet was of special significance to them. It could help him in the future so he took note of it.

To his shock though, the Mana Lord who was acting as the commentator was relentless enough to go all the way through to announcing all the 474 winners.

He was like. "What the hell bro!"

Despite feeling out of place, this additional time from the name callings gave Sebastian the time that he needed to start thinking about his circumstances.

He still felt weirded out, he still didn't understand a lot of things. One moment ago, he was infiltrating the lair of the Mana Lords, the next, he was captured already and turned into a slave to participate in an induction ceremony.

His lack of control in all that was happening was something that he was not used to, and it grated annoyingly at his nerves.

In the end, he couldn't think up anything concrete before the commentator continued. "From our visitors, we have 4 beasts that are worth mentioning".

"The first of them is the Megalodon who ranked 147th. This beast is not only exceptionally powerful, but it was also mostly because he is an outsider who lucked out and took on the Mana Lord evolution route".

"Woah!"

The spectating Mana Lords reacted in a surprised manner as they finally gave this Megalodon attention. Even if it was a Black tier predator, so long as he was not related, they didn't care, but for a Megalodon Mana Lord, they were interested.

This explanation also calmed their nerves, they were already feeling quite bummed that an outsider succeeded in climbing the top 200 rankings.

"So, he did it all because of our advantages, as expected".

While the Mana Lords quibbled like kids, the commentator continued.

"The 2nd of them is the Thresher shark who ranked 259th. The 3rd of them is the Ocean Crane who took the 273rd ranking, while the last of them is the Megalodon who took the 288th ranking".

Sebastian was surprised on hearing that there was another Megalodon. This was his first time getting to hear about another Megalodon, he couldn't see this shark immediately though due to the crowd.

After the honorary mention of the visiting beasts that managed to take top 300 in rankings, the time for the great purge according to the commentator came.

When this term was said, Sebastian didn't understand at first till 10 massive Mana Lords all radiating Red tier auras came and hovered before the massive seamount where all the predators who participated waited.

Bzzz!

With a few body movements, through different magic domains, these powerful predators managed to separate 500 of the predators from the others who did not qualify for the top 500.

The Mana Lords that were among them were separated, taken to the spectator stands while the visiting beasts were all bundled together.

"What are they doing?" Sebastian was a little surprised at whatever was happening till signs of fear started appearing in the face of the beasts.

Seeing this, his heart skipped a beat.

{Your goal in the speed test is to make it into the top 500, if you fail, you die.}

Once Sebastian remembered this, he finally understood. He was already so engrossed in the thrill of the speed test that he quickly forgot about the consequences of losing, and he also forgot his 2 companions.

Now, Sebastian was left in a frenzy.

"Tungsten!" "Strong!" He roared as he exploded into action.

[You have activated skill: Supersonic Speed!]

[You have activated skill: Combined Super Sensing!]

Sebastian did not waste any time, directly going into overdrive with his trump card movement skill as he rapidly accelerated into the distance.

While he rushed towards where the thousands of beasts were clustered together, probably about to be slaughtered, he blasted out with his sensing skills as he tried to identify his 2 companions.

At this moment, Sebastian already went mildly mad. A lot of things could happen, but Strong or Tungsten dying was a definite no in his dictionary.

Despite how high-profile his current actions seemed, he didn't give a damn as he kept on blasting out with his senses, trying to identify his 2 companions until he heard 2 voices yelling out for him from the crowd.

Sebastian was stunned before feeling extremely relieved, he felt relieved because this sound came from his back instead of his front.

Without even turning, he could already detect Strong and Tungsten who were swimming towards him from the distance. Alongside him were another group of Great White Sharks, and surprisingly, 2 Megalodons.

"Thank God they qualified".

Sebastian didn't know how they did it having witnessed the competence of the Mana Lords firsthand, but he was happy nonetheless that they qualified.

Once the group of sharks numbering about 15 managed to group together, they didn't even get to socialize first as they experienced their first genocide since arriving in this world that told them that they were into something serious.

Together, the 10 Red tier Mana Lords attacked the clustered predators.

Boom!

Just one attack from each of them and the over a thousand powerful purple tier predators were obliterated from the face of Oceania.

Sebastian shuddered at the sight as a chilling cold seeped down his spine.

Seeing the blood flying everywhere, he was reminded of the fate that would have befallen him or his 2 companions if they didn't give their all in this test.

If being a captive didn't make him regret his decision to come here before, this sight already made him start regretting his decision to come to this lair.

He brought Strong and Tungsten along since he expected that with their strength, together they could brute force their way through a lot of obstacles but really getting here told him how naïve he had been.

Even with 50 purple tier predators as companions, the outcome would still be the same, this lair of Mana Lords was that OP.

"F*ck!" Sebastian cursed.

After cursing to vent his anger, Sebastian finally started taking this brief moment of rest to organize himself. Though he still didn't know much about the Mana Lords, this speed test enabled him to observe a lot of things.

The lair of the Mana Lords was far from what he originally imagined. The little tour around all of Manapedia gave him a good idea of where he currently was.

He concluded that this was an isolated world, not a lair.

Manapedia had everything that could constitute it as a planet on its own. The little that Sebastian already saw gave him an idea of what this world entailed, and he had to confess that he was awed.

Manapedia was such a world that in novels that he read could be referred to as a special cultivation world. In here, not only was the mana far thicker than outside, he could feel that his comprehension speed of origin laws increased.

Perhaps, this captivity was not as one-dimensionally dangerous as he thought, there were probably advantages also, he just needed to perform well enough to take advantage of them.

After the scare of seeing thousands of predators being slaughtered so easily, Sebastian calmed down as he finally understood his circumstances a bit.

If he gave his all and performed well, he would never see himself in such a situation. Now, he was curious to know how much he could gain from this encounter, at least common sense told him to try to benefit from every situation.

Some people saw going to jail as torture, while others saw it as isolation from all the problems of this world, it was a perfect concentration chamber to them.

Good and bad in this world were all tied to perspective.

What others saw as good, others saw as bad, and vice versa. Sebastian originally saw this captivity as bad, but now that he discovered what he could gain from giving his all, his interest grew and his perspective of it changed.

Amid his thoughts, the time for the award-giving came.

Sorry for the late release, it's school-related matters again.
