Chapter 74
Chapter 74
C74 – Qin Ming’s Revenge
“Damn, this lowlife is the worst!”
“Murder for hire, tax evasion, money laundering, and even betraying our nation’s secrets to M Country!”
Jiang Hao stared at the massive secret he’d just uncovered by hacking into the network, following a trail of breadcrumbs, his eyes burning with rage!
……
Meanwhile, Qin Ming was oblivious to the fact that Jiang Hao was on his trail.
In the heart of Tianhee City, atop a skyscraper, Qin Ming reclined in his office chair, eyes closed in repose.
His sole focus had been on avenging his only son, whose legs had been cruelly broken. He was ready to strike back immediately.
But just as he was about to act, he received a stern warning from the Jade King, Soong Wanzhong, which left him both shocked and seething with anger.
Soong Wanzhong wielded power in Tianhee City that Qin Ming couldn’t hope to match. He knew he had to heed the warning.
Yet, with his son still bedridden in the hospital, how could he possibly stand by idly because of Soong Wanzhong’s caution?
“No, I have to get justice for my son!”
With a sudden intensity, Qin Ming’s eyes snapped open, venomous as a viper’s.
He grabbed the phone and dialed a long-forgotten number.
“Hello…”
A raspy voice answered.
The line was open.
Without wasting a moment, Qin Ming got straight to the point.
“Number three, I want the thug who hurt my son to meet with an ‘accident’ before tonight.”
Qin Ming’s command was met with silence, but he was patient.
Finally, the raspy voice spoke again.
“Fine.”
“But this is the last time I’ll assist you. Once this job is done, our agreement stands: we’re strangers, with no further ties.”
Qin Ming, unflinching, agreed.
“Agreed. After this, you’re clear of any debt to me, and I’ll have no knowledge of you.”
“Mm, await the news.”
The caller seemed pleased with Qin Ming’s response and hung up promptly.
After the call, Qin Ming remained composed, snapping his phone card in half and discarding it before reclining in his chair once more.
The Number Three from earlier was a fellow traveler he had saved from the brink of death in Tang Long Mountain’s forest during a trip ten years ago, bloodied and barely clinging to life.
Unexpectedly, the man he rescued had a secret identity: an assassin. When he saved Number Three’s life, the assassin didn’t kill him. Instead, he vowed to assist him three times unconditionally as repayment for the life-saving grace.
Over the years, he called upon Number Three’s aid twice during dire situations, which led him to his current standing. Now, it was time for the third and final favor.
Once this task was completed, their ties would be severed for good. Although calling on Number Three this time seemed like overkill, he was driven by a desire for vengeance for his son and could no longer concern himself with the consequences.
……
Jiang Hao was unaware that Qin Ming had also chosen this day to exact his revenge. In the internet cafe, Jiang Hao pored over the evidence he had collected, seething with anger.
“Hmph, what goes around comes around. Those who commit evil deeds will surely meet their downfall. Today, it’s your turn to face the consequences,” Jiang Hao murmured under his breath, his fingers flying across the keyboard.
In a flash, he struck the last key with force.
“Done!”
He then reclined in his chair, a look of ease washing over his face.
“Qin Ming, it’s time for your name to be known far and wide,” Jiang Hao whispered with a faint smile, eyes fixed on the computer screen.
