Chapter ?350 To Each His Plans, It Can Only Be Shared!
Whether it was the monster army or the army of Martial Artists, the number of quality members wasn't that high. The Demon World had hordes of horrifying monsters, but only a fraction of them could cross over. Meanwhile, not all Martial Artists could become stronger just by having more resources.
As a result, the Transcendents and the Unrestrained could be said to be in a stalemate that was slowly tipping in humanity's favor thanks to the Heavenly Strength Society's contribution. However, the rest of the army wasn't doing so well.
The strongest Martial Artists could intercept weaker monsters and kill them faster before they pass them, but scattering their attention to not let anything pass them was no different from asking for a quick death. The responsibility to clear the weaker monsters had to be distributed in accordance.
Whether it was intelligence or instinct, the weaker monsters knew that they were no match for the stronger Martial Artists, so they headed for those who they had the confidence to kill. In reality, if some of them sacrificed themselves to distract them, the monsters had a better chance of emerging victorious.
However, they chose to eradicate humanity's useless numbers first so that they won't get counterattacked using the same tactic!
Fortunately for them, the monsters always had the advantage of strength when it came to the lower rung. While most monsters started at the 1st rate and above, there were a large number of filler 2nd and 3rd Martial Artists that only made up for the difference in numbers.
"Urgh!"
"Run- run away!"
"Hold still, we can't collapse our ranks!"
In reality, proper formations could turn weaker numbers into higher strength, but that required the individuals using these co-op tactics to have a certain amount of experience. In the face of a stronger opponent, those that lacked seasoned resilience couldn't even focus on executing their martial arts...
If the more stingy organization had taken out their real veterans, the delicate balance wouldn't have shattered. Sadly, there was no cure for regret, the reassurance that everyone felt in their union was slowly fading away as the instability increased. However...
Swish!
Those who choose not to run even for the sake of stalling a little bit at the cost of their life were surprised to see that they could still open their eyes again.
"This, these people..."
The shadows running through their ranks and cutting down threats quickly got clearer, their signature gray robes quickly bringing up a name in the desperate Martial Artists' minds!
"Th- Th- The Murim League is here!"
The vigilante group which had been silent ever since the Heavenly Strength Society had made their quick redecoration had finally made an appearance!
Despite having had a very quick rise thanks to the resources poured on them through the Monster Hunting Association, the Murim League's Martial Artists were mostly made out of 1st rates with their strongest members being at the Peak Stage, but that was exactly what the army lacked!
Strong monsters were aplenty in the Demon World, but even 1st rate Martial Artists were hard to find in great numbers if not at the Ten Great Sects and Nine Grand Families! With hundreds of skilled ones pouring into the field, it was like finding an oasis in the middle of the desert.
Most importantly, throughout the last few years, Geochin had trained them for joint combat using the knowledge of the Murim Lord. Once again, the Murim League proved its necessity to the vulnerable humanity...
The scales were finally evening up, but the Murim League's members desired more. They wanted to make the push using the weakest level of forces!
'Just like that...'
Jumping directly into the field of Transcendents, Geochin kept an eye on his little army. The advantage of having two minds was that he could spare some attention, and he definitely needed that to ensure that the plans he calculated came into reality.
<Keep casualties to a minimum, but don't hesitate to do what is necessary. Remember the cause that we are doing this for.>
Relaying a little reminder, Geochin turned back to his battle as the sword flashed in his hand. It was almost impossible to rein in the whole Murim League, but the commanders were people who were faithfully his and believed in the very same dream!
After so many times of direct training and giving control to Namgung Geom, Geochin's body had almost fully adapted to the Extreme Speed Sword even if he was using it on its own. It was still lacking in comparison, but this was exactly his second objective to achieve in this war, using life and death battle to master the martial art and make it completely his own!
To others, this was a battle deciding the fate of humanity, but to him, this was just a chessboard that he needed to make use of while it lasted... Or so he thought.
"The Heavenly Strength Society is covering for us!"
"Support them from behind!"
"Take care of the strays..."
The cheers and praises that should have been showered only on the Murim League were being split with the Heavenly Strength Society!
'Huh?'
The Society's contribution at the very front was already very bright with the Heavenly Demon at the lead. Surprisingly enough, however, even the backlines had exceptional combatants showing a level of experience comparable to those that Geochin had personally trained.
'I'm not letting you steal the whole spotlight!'
Leo had no plans to destroy either Geochin or his Murim League. Just as he always admitted, their existence was necessary so that the plot doesn't get hit by a shit storm. Still, he would never accept a monopoly!
The reason he trained his own little army wasn't just to make his monster extermination trips easier, he was also preparing them for this battle so they could share everything with the Murim League just like they had done so far.
There were some small changes, but this was still the battle that he knew the ending of. In the same manner, this was just a stage that he was laying his cards on in preparation for the true finale...
