Back in his room, Leo was silently staring at the event segment that changed after he received his new identity. He had only worked in earnest to achieve two of them, but he somehow received an extra two thanks to links that his character possessed…
'Why does it feel so heavy now?'
He was someone that had to shut away his feelings in order not to explode, so Leo couldn't exactly interpret his current emotional status. He felt like it was both unpleasant and pleasant at the same time.
'Is there an even deeper change that I'm unaware of?'
He was Baekho just like he was Leo. However, even Baekho didn't have an answer, the bond that he possessed with Yeon somehow felt different from the other end. As for Leo who had abruptly entered, he felt the same.
Originally, he still maintained Baekho's will to stand by the future Heavenly Demon as protection and support were what he desired to mutually provide and receive. Leo also believed he required the same amount of help that he would give for the sake of his task, but his change was already causing a change that he couldn't calculate.
Unlike Ray's case where he interacted as little as possible, Leo felt that he could no longer read this sister of his as he could do with his brother. The little speech between him and Yeon still proved that they could clearly understand each other, but she wasn't showing everything just like he was.
What Baekho believed to be everything she thought of was merely a portion now. Yeon was definitely growing in an unknown direction from here on out!
"Haaa… Let's think about it later."
Just like how he dealt with the countless unknowns that felt his head, Leo shrugged it aside for now. The main task was still to get stronger, and the change was more likely to be good than bad, he at least tried to influence it in that way.
'Back to it.'
It hadn't even been a day since he emerged from his seclusion, but it was time to continue training. Now that the exhaustion and the injuries that he had accumulated had been washed away by the 'celebration meal', it was time to practice the Scarlet Sky Breathing Technique once more.
After they had finished their meal, Cheon Iyeolhan's casual words indicated that they didn't have a certain goal. Their only task was basically getting used to the breathing technique and accumulating more Internal Energy, stabilizing their footing as 3rd Rate Martial Artists. Leo knew that there was more in store for them, but this was like a period of peace and rest that they earned by being the quickest.
'Is this still worth it?'
As someone who was a few steps away from mastering the basics, Leo naturally didn't plan to just circulate the Scarlet Sky Breathing Technique for training. Just like things worked in the Heavenly Furnace, supplements always mattered! However, Leo was still unsure about which kind was he supposed to use first…
Currently, there were two bottles in front of him as he sat on the bed. One of them was the familiar Blood Rose Initiation Pill bottle, while the other was the one that he had just received a few hours ago, both acted as Internal Energy practice supplements, but their value obviously wasn't the same.
'It's not even worth a point, but…'
If one were to use the measurement unit of 'years' applied in the world of murim, then the Blood Rose Initiation Pill had about 10 days' worth of energy. Using that as a reference, Leo guessed that one point in the book equaled a month's worth. These pills were useful Energy Channel Clearance, but they weren't worth much when it came to accumulation.
'It's better than nothing.'
The effect of inferior pills would almost vanish after one's Internal Energy Accumulation crossed a certain point, so Leo popped his pill choice for the last month into his mouth. There were only half a dozen leftovers from his previous task, just about enough to last him to the end of the day.
Compared to Yeon who had probably digested several superior pills, Leo's current Internal Energy was pitiful, but whether he would lose when it came to control wasn't confirmed. At the very least, his 'Ability Reading' and 'Mind' should be enough to compensate for his lacking talent.
"Huuuu… Haaa…"
The complicated task of getting used to 'breathing' was already completed. Leo only needed to breathe in a hint of natural energy to assimilate with the pill energy before his Energy Circulation smoothly proceeded. It didn't even take an hour before the Internal Energy in his Dantian doubled in volume.
If there was an advantage for the use of inferior pills, then it had to be the ease of digestion. Compared to the superior pills that increased Internal Energy by a big chunk but lost a good part of energy during conversion, inferior pills were easy to consume without any fear of loss.

'This is fun…'
Although Leo complained about how much of a nonsense Internal Energy Breathing seemed to be, he couldn't deny the exciting element in it. Compared to the arduous task of gathering Sword Breath when he just took his very first step as Arthur, his current training was much more enjoyable!
This was similar to the existence of Sword Elixirs, but it's useability was far more extended. One's body would still build up some immunity to energy pills, but it was a case as severe as that of Sword Elixirs. Most importantly, while Internal Energy Breathing still required concentration and time, it was the opposite of a physical action like 'Sword Calligraphy'! If he wanted to, Leo could just immerse himself in never-ending training!
Almost all Martial Artists practiced Internal Energy Breathing everyday to gain comprehension and advance on their path, but hoping to climb up through nothing other than the accumulation of natural energy just like Sword Breathing was unachievable without investing decades over decades! However, was resources something that Leo had to worry about as someone who stood under the Scarlet Sky?
