Chapter 18: Central Darma, Ternet
"Did you get the bag?"
The hero nodded at my words and raised the bag toward me. Filled to the brim with grenades, that was a bag more important for us than the bag with rations.
Explosion took precedence over food, everyone knew that.
I grabbed the keys to the Sportster and stepped out of the police station. I had found a long trench coat inside and had taken it over my black shirt. There were also cool black gloves that I also snatched.
With the axe strapped to my back, I also placed two handguns in a holster along with a knife and hooked them on my belt. I didn't need big guns or anything of the sort, just this much was enough.
The hero on the other hand had taken a gray coat and had strapped around an AK-47 and a hammer. I let him handle the bag of grenades while I hooked the others filled with rations and magazines.
I checked the keys on a couple of the bikes, and it finally turned on the last one.
A single kick and the engine revved to a start.
"Haha! There we go!"
More zombies were coming around at the noise, and so were more of the hounds from the previous scenario.
As things stood, probably all over the world, mutated monsters were out at war against the rising zombies. As things further stood, by some great luck and a sacrifice of all our noses, the bodies all seemed to be rotting and being attacked by the crows.
"Hey hey Vincent, look here."
Out stepped Relafan, in his hands two big helmets and in his other hand a much smaller, palm-sized helmet that was made out of a bent piece of steel and styrofoam broken from other helmets. Instead of the straps he had used small ribbons.
"It's perfect for Joe, right?"
"We're not calling the slime Joe."
"How about Neon Kaiser Darkest Abarreth Shadow Johannesburg?"
The slime popped out of my pocket and nodded.
"Add a Mackenzie the Third."
"Um, Neon Kaiser Darkest Mackenzie Abarreth Shadow Johannesburg the Third?"
Neat.
The slime nodded too.
The hero walked over and handed me a helmet which I placed in front of me for now. He put his own on. The slime had decided to get out of my pocket and climb on my back, if it fell I would fucking find it and kill it.
Unfortunately, Relafan was an idiot who didn't have to escape from cops at the age of nine, and by extension, never knew how to ride a bike. I still didn't get why people called him the best.
With the two losers in tow, I turned the accelerator.
"Let's go!"
"Pipip!"
The sportster whirred. The fuel bar went to the max, and off we set!
"Woohoo!"
The breeze streaked through my hair as I made my way through the road. With the whirring of the bike as our signal, a few normal people came peeking out of the debris but we sped past all of them.
"Say, do you not think we should be adding the stats?" Relafan asked again.
I had the map open right in front of me as I drove out of the narrower paths.
"Not yet, let's fucking sleep first."
The bunker would likely be crowded, but I was not going to the place alone.
"Revv it faster! The hounds are catching us."
Yup.
I turned the road to the highways. Though the noise attracted the zombies and hounds alike, I was only going fast enough to keep the hounds following.
The breeze continued as we dashed through the broken highways for hours straight. The cars that had riddled the place all were on the opposite end leading away from the cities, though not a lot had a chance to even get here.
The vrooms continued for hours.
Every time it seemed the hounds were losing track of us, I made Relafan fire a shot.
As the gray skies turned completely black, the headlights and the burning lands in the distance were the only light source.
And we had about…
A hundred hounds following us.
And then.
In the outskirts of Central Darma, Ternet, we dropped out of the highway and entered the spacious posh blocks where the most important figures of the city resided.
"This?"
"Yes this!"
The hounds on my tail, I turned the bike toward the widest tower in the area where a group of dozens of zombies had gathered.
The bike went straight toward them.
The zombies turned to face us.
"AAAH! We'll crash!"
"Throw the grenade!!"
The hero reached into the bag and pulled out the pin.
And then, toward the walls of the tower that hid the bunker beneath.
The grenade burst, we jumped out of the bike, Neo Mack 3 on my back, and rolled on the ground.
The bike crashed into the zombies and the hounds pounced right after.
"HAHA! Get inside!"
Before anything else could catch us, we dived into the hole we had created and dashed through the building.
