Chapter 27: Grand Skeleton Warrior

{GRAND SKELETON WARRIOR HAS BEEN BIRTHED}

"Woah, I guess this magic works!" The Hero cheered as the spell that he had created risking a lot finally showed its effect. It was a gamble, it was just something he had learned in another world after all.

"Alright," the girl next to him held her head and spoke to herself. "There is no earthquake. You just smoked too much, we have trained for this."

"Miss, there's most definitely an earthquake."

"There is?"

"Yup."

"I wasn't imagining it, another go won't hurt."

She did not get the time to smoke it down, though, as a loud, earth-shattering roar tore the sky.

In the distance, at the very center of the wide circle the Hero had used to create the spell, a giant bone skeleton stood up high. Though its structure resembled that of a skeleton, the parts holding it up were anything but.

A mishmash of all kinds of bones had joined together to make the structure for the giant being towering as high as the buildings around. Its ribs were laden with bones of the hands and its spine stuck together with skulls of hundreds.

The grotesque being's bones were a grim amalgamation of all the dead that had been resurrected by the Apocalypse Keeper.

It was a skeleton in spirit, but a demon in form.

"W-w-what… the fuck… is that High Lord Volnir?"

"High lord who?" The hero asked, stretching as he spoke.

"High Lord Volnir, a boss from the third part of the Souls series."

"Alright, what are you two even on?" Asked the Hero. That the cat was talking was already enough of a shocker, but to think it had read all the wikis up to the threequel was even more disgruntling.

He didn't play games, he had no idea.

But his mind was working in a different direction. This lady, she was pretty good-looking, and she was alone too. He had also brought forth a perfect enemy, wasn't this his chance to be smooth?

"That thing is inconvenient, I won't be able to play games or smoke in relief."

"Maybe not?" The hero wasn't the type to like crazies that much. She seemed to have more than just a couple screws loose, fixing her was not a challenge on the DIY level.

It would be best to just train.

The girl ran a bit ahead to go and get the crowbar before Relafan could say anything. His brows raised in admiration.

"Look at this, she's bold."

She could be useful. He wasn't going to leave her for the dead, but this gave him a slight incentive to take her along.

"Alright, let's fight that thing and rescue my StayStation!"

Her motives were questionable, but her spirit was firm.

"Hey miss, step back," said the hero. "I made that thing to train with."

"Excuse me?"

"Just step back."

Now then, thinking about it again, the hero realized that the Grand Skeleton Warrior was a bit more than he could take on.

It broke the buildings surrounding them with every step it took, its hands waving around haphazardly in rage. The bone sword in its hands was blunt yet completely shattered concrete blocks with sheer force, and the shield on the other hand was even worse.

That it was tall enough to oversee the three to four-storey houses surrounding them was the cherry on top.

"Can you even take that thing on? Let's just steal some consoles and run away."

The Hero still was a hero. If there was one thing that he had learned through his years, it was that no amount of friendship or love would give him enough power to stand up against the bastard that was the villain.

So he always kept a trick up his sleeve.

"Inventory."

A window opened in front of him.

The reward from the first scenario was an item.

[Success Reward: Item (Rarity Grade depends on monster), 5 Stat Points, 100 Cash Points]

And he had killed quite the monster with the villain.
