Chapter 31: Central Darma Supremacy Wars (Bonus Chapter)
[Congratulations! You are now one of the parties battling for leadership of Central Darma.]
One after another, messages started popping up in front of us.
I had thought up 37 ways to fuck them over.
[You cannot leave Central Darma Province during the battle.]
Okay, maybe only thirty now.
[Battling within your party is forbidden]
[You can form alliances with other parties and choose a leader to take the top position]
I still had twenty-five.
[Enemy parties can be subdued or murdered]
Not bad, I still had fifteen ways to fuck the apocalypse over.
[To become the leader, you must hold control over all survivors in Central Darma.]
I licked my lips, I can kill everyone else but my people.
[Control can be obtained either through consent or force, people who are dead no longer count as survivors and won't matter]
They had gotten rid of my thoughts right away, but I still had seven ways to flip this script.
[The leader must take responsibility for all survivors or leadership will fail]
Five.
[To select the first party leader, please receive the Leadership Marker from the dungeons]
Two.
[Try your best to survive~]
Zero.
And a new idea popped up.
With a grin, I turned to the others.
"What do you guys think?" I asked.
"Isn't it too soon?" asked the Hero. "If it is really like this, won't we just stomp through all of the problems?"
"Wow, it wasn't just that mister who was overconfident, you're pretty shit too, aren't you manslut?"
The girl had no chill. At least she had the guts to call out the Hero for what he was, I appreciated that, even if it was just the weed talking.
The Hero was correct.
"We would stomp over them all, that is right. So, what do you think?"
The Hero squirmed at my words, he didn't seem to like the vibe of me testing him, but he had little choice.
"That wait thing threw me off," said the Hero. "We already had five people at the very start, I think they didn't expect us to make a party this late. The wait must have so small by coincidence."
I agreed.
They had turned on hard mode for us.
It only made sense for others to be just as strong. It would be useless if others were having it rough.
"So what's scenario 2 part 2 for us, could be scenario 9 or scenario 2 part 9 for others who had already formed parties."
We excluded people who weren't in parties because we had an example right in front of us. The Hero had come a long way from the thoughtless wimp he used to be all those years back.
"I see, you guys are actually not that bad…" said the girl, Alice, her name was.
"So, what do we do?" asked the Hero. "We'll find the dungeon and then make the others submit—?"
"They said enemies can be subdued or murdered," I interrupted the Hero this time. "So we'll make sure not to kill anyone."
The hero raised his brow.
"You… don't want to kill anyone?"
"Simply because its better to piss the Apocalypse people over. See that last line? They want many of them to die. Whatever it takes to not let them have fun, I am willing to do it."
"Even keeping annoying people alive?!"
"Alive, I'll just make sure they can never talk or move again."
The Hero gulped. Was that worse than killing them? I didn't think so.
"We'll also become the leader, yes, but we won't be fighting with anyone since that's what they want to watch."
Alice tilted her head this time.
"And how will you avoid fights?"
"There will be no need to fight if there is no other candidate for a leader."
I stood up and dusted my clothes.
"Hero, teach this girl how to use her abilities, I'll go and get our stuff from the bunker. Emergency food, merchant, follow me."
The cat and the slime sat up and strolled behind me.
The way to be a candidate for leadership was through conquering a dungeon that had opened up all over the city with the second scenario.
"We'll raid all dungeons in Central Darma before anyone else can…"
"HAH!" The girl laughed. "This guy is crazy!"
"What do you even know? You've not even seen dungeons…" the Hero muttered. He was not wrong. "He's not crazy, he's completely gone from the head."
I would have punched this fuck if I wasn't in a good mood or if I had not swiped a joint.
As I waved my hands and stepped out, I turned back one last time.
"Also, we're in an apocalypse. Get her a trench coat."
