Chapter 37: Dungeon Destruction (2)
An arrow came shooting straight for my head.
I raised my machete and chopped the arrow from the middle as I gunned down the distant goblin archer.
"KEIRIRK!"
"KURURU!"
Dozens of goblin bikers came rushing at me as I made my way through the highway. Their bikes and weapons only seemed to be upgrading with each wave I killed.
The front of the goblins came straight at me.
I swung my Machete at one and cut off its neck, the bike flying past me. Two more were right behind it. I kicked the steering of one and pushed it to the side, taking the momentum to jump up.
The third of the bikes vroomed below me as I spun and slammed my heel into its face. The bike got up on its back wheel as the head of the goblin was pushed back to the ground.
I landed neatly on its head and slammed my foot further in, crushing its skull.
The rest of the goblin bikers used the chance to form a circle around me.
"Hoh, they have brains."
"Goblins are typically crafty creatures, boss! They hunt in packs and make good use of traps. They are like ants of the monster world!"
[The Strongest Dragon God System warns Cat to not take its job away!]
Not bad.
I took in the last puff of the joint and tossed it to the sky.
The goblins continued circling around me. As I let out a puff of smoke, the gongs of battle rang.
I immediately pivoted to my left and shot two of the seven goblins in the head.
At the same time, another bike came ready to crash from behind me.
With a leap, I flipped in the air and slammed my foot in the goblin's head, but the same trick didn't work twice.
The Goblin blocked my kick with its club, that was all I needed.
I slammed my other foot on the steering and yanked it to the side.
"KRIE!?"
The goblin could only scream as I drove the bike toward two more of its allies. Right before crashing into them, I jumped off the bike.
—BOOM!
A thunderous crash resounded as two more were downed. That just left one behind me, and one archer right in front.
The engine of the goblin behind whirred. If I turned, I would be shot.
If I dealt with the ranger, I would be trampled.
Thankfully, I wasn't alone in the middle of the goblin encirclement.
I swept my foot ahead and hooked the cat with my leg.
"MRAOW!?"
It screamed as I launched it toward the goblin archer, straight for the face. That was enough distraction.
In the same moment, I spun on my feet again and swung the machete. The top of the goblin's head went flying off as its bike passed me by.
"BOSS! HELP MEW!"
I spun again and saw the goblin being scratched incessantly by the cat.
"Move," I commanded.
The cat immediately jumped off from the Goblin's hold and I shot my bullets at its head.
The magazine emptied out as the goblin's head burst off.
Just like that, another round was cleared off.
***
We kept progressing through the dungeon at breakneck speed, killing off any and every group of goblins we found.
And at last, at the end of the highway.
Standing in front of a giant bike was a goblin twice my size.
It donned a large white coat that did not hide its muscles, a headband strung over its forehead.
"HMPH!"
It growled as I stepped in front of it.
"KRIRI… You've made it far, huma—"
—BANG BANG BANG!
I shot the last of my bullets straight at its head, but they all bounced away.
The Goblin scowled in deep rage as it learned I had ignored it.
"KERURUK!"
And it came charging in.
